I like the 4 1/2 " brim with a high crown and of course the low price best of all.

This is a cheaper hat, but it seems like it will hold up well in the summer. If you are intending to shape this hat understand that it is a relatively loose/large weave. It is not floppy but it is difficult to put sharp creases in it. My felt hat is a Serratelli 7 1/2 and this hat in a 7 1/2 fits me wonderfully. The sizing is pretty accurate. If you are going to buy this hat I would reccomend that you try it on, because all hats are different. However, I ordered online and it worked out fine. The color is not the brown that it is in the pictures online it is more of a white streaked with a toasted yellow. The straw is not shiny or that rich brown color, but it is still a decent looking rustic hat.

At this price, it was hard to find aopen crown vented hat with a leather sweatban. I have my brim flat, and I wish it would lay perfectly flat, but it doesn't exactly. Almost. Other wise, again, it is a great hat. The sizing fit is good, and not sized in the small, medium, or large type. Vary good.

The original hat I ordered was my size but fit small, so I ordered a size up. I got reimbursed for the first hat cost, but not for the taxes, shipping & handling. When the second hat came it must have been purchased by someone who also returned it because the crown had been creased, pinched and shaped to their liking but Shepler's never put it back into its original round shape before shipping it to me. I'd give the hat a 3.5 if I could. It's not that comfortable, at least not like my Stetsons, but I bought it for working outdoors in the triple-digit NM summers temps. The brim is wide and keeps the sun off my face and neck. Be nice if they'd add a stampede strap. Overall, it's an okay hat for the price.

I have been wearing Twister Bangora straw hats for over 10 years. They take a beating and do not fall apart like other hats.
