The boots are Tony Lama. To me that means a lot. I have owned many western boots over my 75 years of life, and Tony Lama boots make up about 95 percent of the total. The quality of manufacturing and the fit have always been the reason to buy the brand again. However, perhaps it’s my imagination or that I’m a certified curmudgeon, but it seems the quality has slipped somewhat. These boots are the first Tony Lama’s that the shaft has not been leather lined. These are the third pair of buckaroos and the previous purchases both had lined tops, as have all the other Tony Lama boots I have owned. The one thing I do not like, are the square toes. I had looked for round toed buckaroos (in any of the buckaroo variations), before I just gave up and bought the square toed boots. Round toed buckaroos do exist, but all the common sizes are sold out. Besides not liking the appearance of square toed boots, the idea of square toes defeats an important purpose of western boots. Western boots were made to protect the rider. The taller the shaft, the more the inside of your leg is protected from rubbing on the fender of the saddle. The 18th century cavalry solders had saddles without any fenders causing legs to be rubbing on the stirrup straps, latigo, and the cinch. Round toed and pointed toed boots were the most important feature. This feature made it much less likely for the rider to get his foot hung up in the stirrup during an unplanned dismount. A pointed toed boot or rounded toed boot will slip out of a stirrup much easier that a wide square toed boot.

Buckeroo Tony Larma are great. Square Toe not so much. Only just fits in stirrup.

Recently moved from a dry southwest climate to a very wet-humid one in the South and needed a boot with a rubber sole. Alway's been a fan of the 3R and this Mexican made model fits perfectly. It is very light and has a strong grip for wet surfaces while also comfortable in the stirrup.

Honestly I've never really cared for the square toe style boot. Actually the first pair I've ever owned. I've always had the round toe black bullhide style that seems to no longer exist, but im pleased as can be now that I have these. Thank you Sheplers.

Great boots, they took very little time to break in, wore them in the house a couple of times before deciding. These boots do not have the ribbon covering on the inside of the shaft were it is sewn, like some of my other Buckaroos and that was a concern as I was afraid of rubbing when I tried them on at first but his has not occurred after wearing them. The heel looks similar to the other Buckaroo boots I own from Tony Lama but is larger and more stable for walking and standing. I have been looking at these boots for about a year and got them on sale for a great price.

We bought this boot for my husband but sadly will be returning the pair. They look good, colors are great, and he was willing to switch from his usual round toe. However, the top 3 inches or so are floppy and wide. Too much leather there. The boots make his pants stick out at the top.

Worst pair of boots I've ever owned. I thought maybe they needed to be broken in but everyday my feet hurt worse than the first time. Kills my back. Boots are very stiff shaft is very stiff. Does not compare to the comfort of twisted x or Justin I don't recommend this pair of boots

I was extremely satisfied with the boots. Besides beautifully made they are extremely comfortable and great workmanship went into these boots. I am looking at getting another pair with a different colored top. Thanks Tony Lama.

I was kind of skeptical about buying online without trying on my boots. I had purchased some Olathe and I couldn’t get my size 13 in the stack. So I was kind of weary about these. I’m glad my weariness turned into joy. They are awesome boots and so comfortable. I recommend them if you like tall tops which I do.
