Hat came with what looked to be wear or poor storage. Band was slightly frayed and liner had a small tear. Felt looked worn. My uncle has this same hat and it looks sharp. I bought this one as a gift for my grandfather and my uncle's that was several years older was in better condition.

I'd been looking at this hat for several years. Liked look, reminded me of LBJ hat. It fits my personal music styles as well as general out door interests. The 6x is strong, looks good and fits well. A genuine John B Stetson hat. Who could ask for more.

I have several Stetson hats on 7 1/4 and all fit the same. This one was noticeably loose. I have returned it.

This is a great hat. Make sure you measure your head for the correct size. I find that the Stetson sizing is dead on accurate with the measurement. I just wish the stores had more size selection. They were very helpful at the store, but had to order it from the warehouse.

Best price and delivery combination I could find. Possibly a slightly better price elsewhere but not better service and ability to deliver.

The hat is high quality and my first Stetson. I’d note two deficiencies, first the hat band was a bit wrinkled due to packaging and second there was a minor imperfection on the bottom of the brim. By far, the best part was the service from the staff at the Boot Barn in Springfield, IL The hat was cleaned up and prepped nicely, with assistance to ensure a good fit (I’m right between a 7 1/4 and 7 3/8). Also Ryan the hat guy worked to buff out the imperfection. Excellent work by the Boot Barn team.

My Dad is 86 years old and has been wearing the silver belly Open Road Stetson for as long as I can remember. He is an auctioneer and his hat has come to be known as his signature look. (The local newspaper featured him on the front page with his Stetson on!) I always got him one for good and one for work and when I ordered these last two, I wondered when I would order the last ones as I only got them for him once every 5 to 7 years. When the hats arrived, I teared up a bit, got hold of myself and then gave him the hats. It was all good.

This hat had frayed hems and the ribbon around the top was not sewed on straight. For a Stetson, this was far from the quality we expected. We returned this hat and purchased the same hat from a different store and it was completely different. I can’t recommend this hat being purchased from boot barn.

Mostly I just take off my Stetson Open Road to sleep. I'm 6'1" 300 pounds all carried in the chest so my hat is the cherry on top of an ice cream cone. My wife likes that I wear it and says it suits me. I have worked hard a long time and I'm very successful - Thank God. It's as though when I first began wearing hats over a decade ago, I knew eventually I would be wearing a Silverbelly Open Road fur felt Stetson. Once I'd tired of the ball cap worn with a full suit doofus disconnect, I recognized this would be a Huge Step at the outset. So I wore a variety of other semi-serious hats, the best being a fairly broad-brimmed Borsalino fur felt. But this is the classic! Sure it's Western, but with great sophistication. I was so disappointed with this hat. I had the same model purchased at Sheplers in Oklahoma City some years ago and this ain't it. I sized the hat based on another Stetson I have and this one was too big. Additionally, the brim on one side was wider than the other! Can't believe it! Sent it back.

My wife bought me a hat from the store that came with a nice box. It didn’t fit so I had to return it and get the next and only size up that they had from the website. It took a long time to get to me and didn’t come with the nice box. Plus it still doesn’t fit and they don’t carry the next size up from that. Great hat though. Looks fantastic

After widening the crown a little and reshaping that awful birdbath brim it looks fantastic. Quality is great. Color is slightly on the tan side and I really like that. Will buy another one if this one ever wears out. Great size for driving.

I saw this hat in a store over 35 years ago and thought "if I ever wear a western hat, this would be the one". Well, I finally purchased one from Shepler's. I wear a hard-to-find size (7 3/4) but they had it in stock and was shipped and delivered promptly. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is because the ribbon on the band was folded over and pinched when the hat was packaged. But that will straighten over time. Overall I'm very satisfied. Now it's time to shop for a straw hat which I will purchase from Shepler's.

This is my second Open roader this one in black. The brim is the defining feature and the hat is both stylistic and historical.

I was very pleased with the service I received, and the timeliness with which my Open Road hat arrived.

I purchased this hat in UK and it was delivered 2 days later by UPS-every time the package was swiped it generated a computer record of its progress. It was cleared thru customs by computer before it left US-all amazing. The hat itself is great -apart from being the choice for Presidents-it featured in Dallas PD in 1963 from the old photos -this hat is immune from the tests of time and is the choice of men of character -say I .

In the 50s & 60s this hat was very popular with lawmen in the Southwest. LBJ and Eisenhower wore one and tge Dallas PD detective in yhe famous shot of Lee Harvey Oswald getting shot was wearing one. It doesn't make you look like a drug store cowboy, you look like a Texas Law Dog in one. The brim is sized and shaped to make it easier for vehicle travel. I have several cowboy hats but this is the one that catches everyone's eye.

This is my third Stetson hat, but my first Open Road, which I have long wanted. As I expected, the hat fit right out of the box. Stetson's sizing from hat to hat seems to be very consistent. Because of the slightly smaller brim, the hat is great for wearing while in a vehicle. Because of the way head rests are made today, I often have to remove my other two hats, both of which have wider brims. This hat sits a bit higher on my head than the others, which made me wonder as to how it would do in wind. I've tested it! It did fine. I am very pleased with the hat. By the way, Shepler's pricing for this hat was the lowest I found anywhere.

Great Hat. I have a small collection but the Open Road can fit in anywhere including Massachusetts....The fit seems a little tighter for a 7 1/2 but I know its not going to blow off my head:)

Great hat. Good price. Reasonable delivery time. But just a little disappointed that it came in an ordinary Stetson box and not the Lon Megargee “ The Last Drop from his Stetson” Art box that is pictured on the site. I have to hold back one or two stars on that alone.
