I work in prison so I need a durable and comfortable pair of boots. I just bought my third pair of these boots. They usually last 2-3 years (I was lucky to get a year out of the various boots I had prior to getting these). I have wide feet and I am hard on footware. These boots are very high quality. I am on my feet a lot on a hard concrete floor and I have never had any discomfort. They also provide good traction even on wet surfaces. I will use these boots until the day I retire.

I bought a pair of these side zipper jump boots in the coast guard over 15 years ago. Still wear them today as duty boots with the Sheriffs office.

The boots are comfy. My first call on the first shift of wearing the boots was a car crash that put me on my feet over 4 hours. No issues even though they were brand new.

Great company that makes a great high quality product. This is my second pair of side zips (first being the 10"), I love them. But I have one problem with these 7". Right where the tongue folds next to the zipper, it presses and rubs on my ankle. It makes these boots very uncomfortable. Been wearing them for about 2 weeks now and still having the problem.

The more I wear these the more comfortable they are, once they're broken in they'll more then likely be my go-to boots.... I had a pair of boots similar to these that I bought when I was in the USAF9 (75-79) & almost 10 yrs & 2 sets of soles later they finnaly gave up the ghost, 5 yrs of that time was when I was with the carnival, setting up , tearing down , & fixing rides,walking alot of diamond plate, walking miles on the midway, not to mention riding motorcycles.... I anticipate years of wear out of these...

I was very excited to receive these boots, and they fit wonderfully. Shortly after I bought them the zipper started jumping the tracks on both boots, but I could fix that by unzipping fully and re-zipping. Then the pull jumped off one side entirely, and I had to take them to a cobbler. The zipper is plastic and weak. It didn't take much effort to accidentally break them. Now that my zippers are repaired I don't touch them. The boots feel great on my feet and I can walk for a long time in them. But I bought these BECAUSE they had a side zipper for convenience, which I now cannot use for fear of breaking them again. If these had great zippers, they'd be 5/5. Everything's great, EXCEPT the zipper which is awful. That ruins the whole package.

Bought this boot on a whim. Sized right. No break in required. Takes and holds a great shine.

I used to swear by Rocky products, having had one pair last for several years. Best pair of boots I ever had. Many of the younger guys were telling me Rocky's were junk, and now since purchasing two new pair, I have to agree that the quality level has plunged. My next pair barely lasted 6 months before completely coming apart, and the last pair didn't even make it out of the dressing room the first day without the side zip completely blowing out. Don't even get me started on the Customer service asking me to ship my boots back for evaluation, and the supposed "Warranty". Get it together Rocky.

For the price these boots are excellent. The boots are comfortable and looks great. Got the boots early than advertised.

I bought this boot to wear as my daily station boot at the fire department. It took A WHILE to break in, but was totally worth it. Toe stays shined and looks amazing with my Class A's and Class B's uniforms. I will absolutely be purchasing another pair in the near future.

Bought these to replace a pair of 5.11 Atac side zip boots. The 5.11 boots were designed so that once you have the lacing adjusted for use, you get in and out of the boots using just the side zip. Nice feature. With these Rockys, the zip does not extend far enough to unzip the boot so you cannot remove or insert your foot without untying the laces. On the plus side, boots are pretty comfortable for all day wear and look like they have replaceable soles.

I have had a pair for over a decade and I had to finally give in and get a new pair given the sole wore out and the leather has cracked. Always a great investment. Took a few days to break them in, but always a good looking and functional boot.

I have had these for a week so far very good no leaks comfortable the break in only took about 3 days I use them daily around 11 hrs lots of time on wet grass. I will give another review in a couple of months we will see how they hold up

I bought this boot almost a month ago and the zipper on the side already busted.

Boots are great for warm weather and / or for administrative personnel. I use to wear these on patrol in my younger days but switched to a more comfortable tactical style boot. Now going back to them I can really feel the difference. They are a really good boot. You may want to order a 1/2 size smaller as I think they run a little big.

I’ve been wearing Rocky boots all of my 33 years as a LEO. I have these and the waterproof ones. They look great and have lasted for years.

I bought these for my son in Corrections Department. He said I did great in picking them out. He does a lot of walking and he said from the first day they have been very comfortable.

Due to model changes and pricing increased I had to switch from my usual brand. Went with these Rocky's due to the heavy duty stitch down construction, simple leather components and heavily lugged outsole. Overall, pretty happy. They look sharp and the leather is highly water resistant. Break in was a breeze, too. Replaced the laces with 550 paracord and the originals were too slippy in the eyelets and looked lightweight. Of interesting note is that the bees wax based leather treatment I favor simply would not rub in to the leather of these boots. Not an issue now as they show strong water resistance but time will tell if that matters. Only two gripes. Neither is a show stopper, though one is pretty inexcusable. 1. The side zipper is useless. Worse than useless as its completely non-gusseted and therefore offers unimpeded water ingress. Offers no functionality as terminates far to short to offer any actual doning/doffing benefit. No issues with fit or comfort, though. 2. The original insoles leave a LOT to be desired. They aren't garbage but with the slightly loose fit of the boot I found myself with marginal arch support and significant heel movement in the boot. Replaced with a pair of insoles out of my Globe structural boots and reaped HUGE rewards. In fact, the aftermarket insoles I have on order will be going into a different set of boots now and the Globes just work perfectly with these boots for my feet. Good arch support, a little but more cushion and 99.9% solved the heel slip/movement (which was quite a problem initially). ROCKY, please at least gusset this zipper if you insist on including it (though I believe its not even necessary on such a short boot).

Comfortable boots and easy to get on and off. Just not as shiney as I thought on the toe.

started 17 years ago with this boot. its breathable, flexible and holds up well over time. looking to buy my third pair. used every third day and perhaps more for duty. comfortable and supportive. can even wear as a dress boot in a pinch with the polishable toe area. its not a winter boot with a lot of insulation but will do the job when needed and keeps feet dry when stepping in puddles and ditches, as long as water doesn't go over top of boot and they are zipped.

They break in fast and have a nice professional look to them. Good quality leather should last a long time.

My boots fit great, no break in time needed. They have a side zipper that is great when the tones go off.

This is my third pair of these boot in about 12 years and I love them!

This is the 5th pair of Rocky Zipper Jump Boot! They are the BEST boot I've ever owned! I've gotten everyone at my job to wear them and they are also believers now.

I switched to these from the Alpha Force and these look way better. The zipper seems to be a bit higher than it should be, probably to maintain their water resistance, but it makes them difficult to put on. The insole has very little padding which I fixed by adding my own insole. There isn't any padding on the back of the heel or the ankle which makes walking slightly uncomfortable. I like them but I'll probably buy the Alpha Force and use these as an inspection boot.

Good boot. Been using Alpha force boot over the years and while they are a great boot, not enough ventilation during the summer. Jump boot is roomier and feet don’t sweat (stink) as much

Bought them about a month ago, good boots but the zipper needs to be longer your unable to get the boot on while its laced up and zipper is down

The boots fit well, but on the second day of wearing them, one of the snaps broke. I needed them for work, so I couldn't return them and had to apply a new snap myself.

This is my second pair of these boots. I seem to recall the zipper going lower on the previous pair making it easier to get them on and off (echoing a previous review). Otherwise, slowly breaking them in and they shine up well.

I purchased these boots to replace my old worn out Rocky side zip boots. I noticed immediately that Rocky redesigned the zipper. It is a much weaker and less reliable zipper than my old boot’s zipper. The left boot’s zipper now splits everytime I zip the boot closed. I’ve tried loosening the laces, changing the angle of my leg/ankle, but it doesn’t help. It used to take me five minutes of “playing” with the zipper before it would work properly. Now, no matter how long I “play” with it, the zipper splits everytime. As a paramedic, I don’t always have five minutes to “play” with it. I am extremely disappointed with these boots. I’ve been wearing Rocky 7” paratrooper boots for more than 10 years and have had no problems, until now. I seriously hope that Rocky returns to a more reliable and stronger zipper.

I am on my third pair of these boots. I wear them almost everyother day, first pair lasted me 6 years, 2nd pair lasted me 5 years. Once a week polish and regular mink oil, they are a great boot.

I've been a paramedic for about 10 years but always wore Bates. After seeing friends and coworkers wearing the paratroopers I decided to give them a shot. My initial impression is that they look great but I was a little disappointed with how short they are compared to my partners. The size also runs small. I wear an 11 and tried on my partners 10.5 which were a little big, the 10 wide fits me perfectly ..who would've known? Overall they're still new, stiff, causing blisters and so on but time will tell.

these boots are for work. They are comfortable, well-made, and feel light on my feet compared to the 10 inch version. They fit well and are priced better.

This is the second pair of this boot I have owned. I am a career FF and these work well on calls and duties during the day. The front to is shinable and stays in good shape. The first pair I had for over 7 years. I only had to put new soles on the bottom because of use. The only downfall to the new style compared to the style I had, which I liked a lot is that they went to the snaps on the zipper area instead of the Velcro. I liked the Velcro better than the snaps. I have had them for about a month and they are working in nicely. At first, they are a bit tough to get on and off, and are a bit hard, but they work in fast. I tried slipons but I went right back to these (like an old gf; you just can't get her out of your mind). I will use these until they are shot, and will buy another pair. I would like to see the velco back on the zipper area though.

I bought a pair of these in wide, not realizing that the EW option was no longer available. Could you bring this option back for this boot? I really love this brand and this particular boot style.

Im a game warden and used them for one week and had to buy new boots. The zipper does not stay zipped on these. Terrible zipper design. I went with the 5.11 ones.

Very comfortable after break in. I have had several pairs and have had good luck with them.

These are Good boots, it's been a long tie since I bought this type of boot, been wearing under armor boots, took some time to break in not used to that. Only had them for about a month at time of this revue, so far so good, now that they are broke in . They do seem to fit a bit loose, have a heal slip problem. the footbed is awesome! very comfortable. I have Plantar Fasciitis and have to have good arch support, these are very good with that. All in all a very good boot. I would recommend them.

I purchased this boot a month ago, and I'm very happy with the boots. Just like any other pair of boots, they'll take some time to break in.

I have had 4 pairs of these boots over the years. They are a very sturdy well built boot. I am 6'6" 250 career firefighter i wear these boots 1/3 of the year. I am hard on stuff (like bull in a china closet hard on stuff) all the similar competitor boots i have tired last about 10 months. These Rocky's last about 2 years for duty and about 6-8 months of day wear after that. When am done the tread is worn off and the stitching is going they are coming apart. My only gripe and complaint is the buttons will fail or fall off then the tab that buttons over rips off about 12-16 months after you get them never within the one year warranty. This makes me mad as the boots are still in great shape at this point, but the zipper will start to unzip a couple of months after this happens. I had gone away from them for a year or two and gone through 2 pairs of competitor boots at this time. Rocky at one point changed to a Velcro tab, I thought I would give them a chance as this is what the competitors use and it worked great. I loved those boots. They lasted 3 years of duty and another 18 months daily wear. I ordered the pair of boots I have now and the picture showed velcro and I got button as that isn't the design any more. 13 months latter yep ripped the tab at 2 in the morning in a hurry to get out the door for a call. Now I am hear looking for the velcro and still have a Love hate relationship with these boots due to the design flaw. That said I don't know if I could recommend them because the tab will rip off over time if you put them on in a hurry. They last longer then the competitors similarly designed boots, but not as long as they could/should.

Happy with the boots however had to return them for a smaller size. I usually wear a 12.5 and ordered a 12, I had to send the 12 back and am still waiting for the 11.5

Wore them a few times. The left one started pushing on the top of my foot causing pain and bruising. Maybe a defect in the boot as it didnt happen on the right side.

READ REVIEW BEFORE PURCHASE The old boots used to have reinforced heavy duty zipper. The new zipper is cheap and can easily be broken. I have fixed my left boots zipper twice now and I work in public safety really needed these for work and convince of the side zipper. Lace's feel cheap too they melted while I was working one day on the my right boot. Would not recommend because of the zipper. Everything else on the boot is great and good material except for the zipper.

I work inside, so i didn't need a water proof or insulated boot. These boots are comfortable without overheating my feet.

I've only had these on for about 3 weeks however, so far so good!! Look great, they're getting broke in. There is a little extra room inside but not enough to cause issues. No complaints here.

I was a little disappointed to find the insoles in my boots were smaller than the boot size. This made me feel different about the brand I constantly bragged about.. Hopefully the next order will put my mind back to rest.

Was very happy with this boot until after about 6 months of occasional use I was putting one on and the fold over flap on the zipper side just came away in my hand - tore out of the boot - boot still functional but no fold over top to cover the zipper on one boot - very disappointing

I am so pleased with my purchase. The shoe is comfortable and the side zipper makes putting it on and taking it off easy. I got one of my colleague to purchase one, that's how much I love it.

I have been wearing the boots at work for 1 week now. I have no complaints about them whatsoever. Comfortable. Once I break them in more, I'm sure they'll be even more comfortable.

So I decided to try a new boot from rocky, I used to wear the Alpha force, and bought the Jump boot. When it comes to looks, the jump boot wins but when it comes to comfort the Alpha force takes wins there. But overall I wouldn't buy anything but Rocky's. They are built to last. Great product!!!

I bought these for my son for his new job over a month ago and he said they are very comfortable and he is glad I purchased them. He said he can easily wear them for eight hours plus with no problems. We will tell others that are looking for boots about this sight.

Normally a 11.5 and they are about a size too big. Will return for a smaller size hopefully they will allow this but the quality of the boot looks fantastic

These were just what was needed. Very sturdy, and supportive with a side zipper for easy on/off. Tie them once and done! Best of all the sole is rubber and stitched. makes it more durable.

The zippers suck. The zipper needs to go down further. It’s impossible to get the boots on. I am not happy with my purchase at all.

I’ve had these boots about three weeks now and so far so good. They are a little tough to get use to but once you break them in they go on and off quite well and the boot holds a shine very good of polished. The reinforced leather zipper seems to be much tougher than other boots I’ve had. I really wish rocky would implement a ring on the top rear of the boot to assist with putting it on. Other than that the boot is excellent.

These are some of the best pair of boots i have ever owned. The ability to shine the front and back makes them even more appealing and great.

I like my boots, however, they don’t have enough padding on the inside. In the wintertime your feet will freeze.

Been buying this boot style for 15 years and recently bought a pair a few months ago. These boots are still not broke in even after wearing them for months at my career fire department. Side button flaps appeared to measured incorectly because they would barely snap together but now the side button flaps have ripped off. May consider a brand switch.

I am 100% happy with my boots, these are the only duty boots I buy and will continue to buy.

Bought these boots about a month ago, they looked very nice right off the bat. Really liked the shine. Only problem was breaking them in...got a few bruises and scabs from the button up tops, but now that they are pretty much worn in, they are a fantastic, wonderful fit. I have received many compliments on the professional look of these boots. I would definitely recommend them

I have been wearing Rocky's boots for better than 20 years. I have always loved their boots, however, the new zipper is a complete failure. It pops open multiple times a day.

I've had these for two months the snaps and zipper are already falling off/apart. This is my second pair of rocky's I've purchased and both pairs have had issues within the first couple of months. I would recommend the Bates or thorogoods version.

I bought this boots for my husband, second time he put them on the zipper broke on one the boots. Would like to return them.

Ok yeah I needed to throw in some gel insoles, but I always do! I'd rather buy two pairs of these awesome boots then one pair of the pricier, but not any better competitor boots.

I've had these same boots since 2005. I got them when I first started in the detention center. I was walking an average 10 miles a day in these boots while at work. Now these boots are 9 years old and I'm finally forced to buy another pair. I'm buying the same pair. Very sturdy, great support and grip on all surfaces. Very fast on and off. I tried these out at my local uniform store and bought them direct from Rocky online to save money. The ones at the store fit right. The ones I got online fit loose. Same size and style. Not sure why. They're nice boots but cant say I can wear them on duty and risk getting injured during a foot pursuit.

This is the worst boot I have ever purchased. I will never order Rocky boots ever again.

I have had these for a month, great fit, and i use them as motorcycle boots. I got some long socks, and they feel so good.

This is the second pair I purchase. The first pair started to seperate at the sole and was just passed the warranty period. The boot is ready to go out of the box with little to no break in needed. The heel and toe look outstanding when spit shined. Overall a great, comfortable pair of boots that I would buy and recommend over and over again.

I received them on time. I tried them on. Awesome boot! The only issue I have is that the left boot arrived with l slight scuff marks on the front toe. Not something a person want to see on a brand new pair of boots. Other than that. They're great boots.

These were the 3rd pair of Jump Boots I've bought. The original sturdy zipper has been replaced with a tiny useless zip that would be better suited to a pair of trousers. It's so flimsy that it pops open as soon as you stand up, making the boots completely unwearable. Will no longer be buying.

I purchased this style boot 6 years ago and they are still in great shape. I wore them 7 days a week for 4 years, and now wear them on average 3 or 4 days out of the week for the last 2 years. They have been put through some rigorous service. Only thing that changed negatively after 6 years is the leather has warped slightly to where the buttons don't line up for the flaps. The zippers still work perfectly, however, and I haven't had any problems. They've lasted 6 years and I don't see any signs of them failing soon.
