After retiring from the Marine Corps, having some back and knee issues, my son, on active duty, turned me onto these boots. A little stiffer than the Trainers I previously used, but sturdy and good for being on my feet all day.

My son is a 10.5 Wide, and he said these are the most comfortable boots he's owned. He's training for Spec Ops and doing a lot of rucks, etc... Only had them for a couple weeks, but they needed no break in time. He loves them. I'll update in a few months to report on durability, but the look really well made. Way to go, Rocky.

This is the second pair of this boot I have purchased. I'm a fairly small guy 5 6' 165lbs and have abused these boots on active duty both in and out of country, in the field for weeks and in garrison, and through air assault school. The first pair I have are still serviceable but are now my ruck boots as they've done their duty. A couple things that might be a deal breaker for some of you though. #1 If you are picky about having light boots then this "is not the droid your looking for" #2 the foam strip along the top inside of the boot did bust out of the leather over time. Pictures of my old boots are below, still not bad for 3yrs of hard use.

The foot bet is great news all day wear I'm talking 15 to 17 hrs a day these boots are so light n comfy . This is one of the best mostly comfy boots I have owned that is light weight . I own several pairs of rockies winter boots n now summer boots n some boots for out on the town country style . I love rockies and I will continue to buy from this company I have not had any issues with these boots other then the break in period . I love my boots

This is my third pair and by far the best boots I have ever worn in my 20 years of service. They feel more like running shoes than boots. Light and comfortable with decent support. If you need more support, take out the comfy inserts and put a pair of insoles. Probably not rugged enough for field/combat environments, but perfect for work on base.

Disappointed in these boots. Although very light, the gussets (non-leather) is very stiff and actually makes noise when I walk. I have worn them for a little over a month assuming the stiffness would resolve itself but it has not. I had a pair of similar boots for a long time and really loved them but, in my opinion, this new style is not an improvement.

Bring back the C4T!
El556
Sep 20, 2019
I used to wear the C4T in 6W, which I tried on in store. These are NOT the same sizing. Since Rocky is no longer sold in my BX, I went with a 5.5 W. The wide is definitely more wide than the C4T and the toe box is now slightly too wide, but that's ok. It takes a LOT more to break these in as well. My C4T were soft and supple out of the box. Since this material seems more sturdy, it is stiff and makes crinkly noises when I walk as well as being much heavier than the C4T. Overall the boots are comfortable to walk on with thicker soles and will do the trick, since I sit for work. It's nothing near as good as the C4T though.

I really wanted to like these boots and bought them because of a similar design to the C4Ts. They fight a little bigger, are heavier, and I ended up getting couple hot spots. The boot is sturdy, durable, and resisted the muddy Iraq winters. I used these boots downrange and in garrison.

I've only worn these boots a few times but I love the support in the arch and the sole actually creates a little spring when you walk. Almost like wearing a gym shoe. I would prefer a heavier lace, and the canvas style material on the sides provides good ventilation but at times can be noisey. It can make a little crackling noise when you walk. I've been rubbing a cream for leather on the material to try and soften it and it seems to be working.

Aug 13, 2018
Purchased these boots thinking they would be a better version of the c4. Was completly wrong, they are more rigid and stiffer then expected. Even after break in my feet ache and hurt around the ankle area after 2 months of constant wear i decided to purchase a different pair. The sole on these boots feel nice and soft but when wearing they do not contour to your feet. I do not recommend these. Was very disappointed by the purchase. The quality and value of the product although fair and tough does not make up for the boots rigidness and comfort.

I have always been a fan of rocky boots but they have really gone down hill from when I bought my first pair of sage green ABU boot. First of all, they no longer use paracord and instead have some slippery cheap shoelace, the canvas on the sides is CHEAP— thin and crinkly! They make loud crinkling when I walk and I have tried everything to soften them to NO avail. The glue is visible where the rubber meets the leather. They have changed the sizes I think? Because I ordered a men’s 5 and they are HUGE but my sage greens are a 5 and they fit fine. Although, perhaps it’s possible my feet shrunk. The WORST PART is that this item “does not qualify for return” for whatever reason and I bought them full price for $150 around Christmas time. I want a refund and was unable to get one for reasons they did not explain to me over the phone. Now I have to spend another 150 on boots that might actually work and I have to throw these away because I cannot stand wearing them— they are clunky and LOUD. Rocky brand has really let me down on this one. Worst boots ever

I normally wear Army standard issue boots since I am a reservist, and this is the first pair of boots that I've bought. I wore it for an entire week. As far as my feet and soles go there were very comfortable. However the back of my legs were uncomfortable and I even got a scab from where the booth dented in(see attached pictures). I bought the Rocky brand as I will be attending training were I will be doing a few ruck marches. However with the feel of this boot and the small scab that I got is making me reconsider. As I did not walk much in it and from receiving the scab, make me wonder how bad my feet would be if I had to walk at least 5miles.

Jun 22, 2016
I work indoors, however, I walk around a lot. These boots look great and I did think they would be ideal for the area I work in. But to my amazement the issue with these boots are I have normal size ankles so the back of the boot cuts into my ankle when I walk mostly because the top of the boot that closes around the calf is smaller than that of the ankle portion. So once I have laced them up the ankle slack is excessive and the calf portion is cut off and has nowhere to go. The calf or top of the boot area is too small and the ankle is too wide. Outside of that these boots look great. I wouldn’t change anything else about the boot. The boot does feel a little stiff but I’ve only been in them for a week. I am trying to lace them different to see if that works, if not I guess I will get another pair of boots.

The sizing most definitely changed since I last ordered in 2012. I used to be a 4 1/2 men’s and now I’m a 3 1/2. I didn’t believe another reviewer that you should go a complete size down and I ended up exchanging 2 times. Thankfully it’s an easy exchange process. I’m not a fan of the laces but that was a quick fix. All in all I’m happy for my purchase. That’s boots aren’t as hard to break in as some.

Dec 19, 2019
I wasn't able to try these on before my unit bought them, but I assumed that they would be similiar to my other Rocky boots. I've worn the SV2 and a lightweight version before. First off these are so stiff when trying to put them on. I have to tighten the laces in the foot in order to have enough lace to squeeze my foot in. The laces just aren't long enough to put these boots on comfortably. The material around the ankle is really baggy and floppy and even with the laces tight, there is still extra material just hanging. They are also really loose around the foot and I'm worried that I'm going to roll my ankle. I'm just not a fan of these boots at all, which sucks because I'm supposed to take them on a deployment.

I had the sage green C4T boots (which I loved!) and bought these because I was hoping to get the same thing. As soon as I picked them up out of the box I could tell the quality has gone down significantly. The canvas panels around the ankle are super loose and the biggest thing that bother me is they're SO. LOUD. Everytime I move my foot you can hear them crinkling which is ridiculous. Bring back the C4Ts and you have my money but I wouldn't recommend anyone to spend money on these boots.

My C4Trainers were the lightest, most comfortable and durable boots I had ever owned, so when the soles began to delaminate I wanted the closest replacement I could find from your current catalog. I am very disappointed with my recent purchase. One boot of the new pair weighs more than both of the old boots, and the new uppers are so stiff and uncomfortable they are almost unwearable.

Mar 4, 2020
I bought these because they looked like the C4T, but do not be fooled. The quality is way lower than the C4T, and you can clearly tell that Rocky sacrificed quality for profit here. I wore the sage green C4T for years, and they are amazing. I was hoping this boot was Rocky's coyote brown answer to the C4T, but it is a cheap-looking, bulky lookalike of it's former amazing shoe. I really wish I wasn't being forced to switch from the sage green. The inside sole is the same, so the comfort level is relatively the same but this boot is not as comfortable.
Ok boots if you've never worn the original C4T, but if you have, beware.

I'm on my 4th pair of these boots and I love them, but I didn't at first. Rocks seem to be tight in toe box as a general rule, especially on top. To fix this, first always buy the wide version of these boots. Second, throw away the inserts the boots come with an get some Superfeet Carbon inserts. These are the heavy duty low profile inserts made by Superfeet. Next, don't lace the grommets on top of your foot. Google running shoe lacing techniques and look for the "Wide forefoot" pattern to get an idea. I literally have hundreds of miles on my feet under 80+ lbs in these light weight boots have really saved me. I'm here writing this because I'm ordering another pair right now.
Also, they drain well, but not well enough. I drill a hole in the side of the toe box to get that last cup of water out.

I have these in an older model in sage green. I initially ordered the same size as my green ones but they were a bit too big. Sending the back was quick and easy. Received my new boots in less than a week. Theyre a bit heavier than the green ones I have. They’re super comfy and fit great. Only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is because the laces are very rough and don’t stay tightened well and the mesh material on the sides makes a “popping” noise every time I take a step. Hoping that will stop once they’re broken in. Otherwise great, lightweight boots

Arrived today and was super excited to have another awesome Rocky boot... This is not exactly the case now that I have tried them on. I have a pair of the S2V Predators in an 11, and fit almost perfect, just a bit of extra room in the toe. I ordered these in a 10.5 to have a tighter fit, as I like my boots as tight as possible. This was definitely far from what I expected. They fit more like an 11.5 and fit larger than the S2V's. A bit disappointed but otherwise they feel great comfort wise and are definitely lightweight.

I've had these boots for about a year now. I must say I was impressed at first. Very comfortable, lightweight and all. I was working at Brigade HQ and now at an Operational HQ, both positions did not require me to go to the field, so these boots only saw asphalt, concrete and HQ carpets. Yet, the sole is starting to separate on both boots, to the point where I'll need to buy a new pair before the fall. I am quite disappointed. I do not recommend to buy these boots.

This is my fourth pair of Rockys. I'm a big fan of the fact that they don't even need to be broken in. You can take them right outa the box, strap them on and go straight to an 8k ruck march (wearing a 40 lb pack), all without so much as a "hot spot" at the end. I've actually done this. Easily the most comfortable (almost like a running shoe!) and the best "bang for the buck". Love these things!

I have brought the two pairs of the C4T, and two pairs of the S2V boots. Those are great boots. The Rocky Lightweight Commercial Military Boots are the worse pair of boots I have ever purchased. The middle seams rubbed against my feet, the boots provide no stability like the S2Vs, felt floppy, and boxy. I had to change to another pair of boots at midday, because of the pain they caused. I recommend going with the S2V boots, instead of these.

Jan 24, 2018
I bought these boots due to them being lightweight. which they are. but what they don't tell you or show in the pictures is how clunky they are. I ordered a medium or normal width and got a boot that is super wide and awkward looking in the toe area. in the ankle area there is zero support due to there being the vinyl type material. Sadly there is also not much arch or foot support either which makes it tough especially since it is supposed to be a military boot. Overall I almost feel like I am walking in what one might describe as moon boots, not the biggest fan.
Secondly, though not by fault of Rocky themselves I had the misfortune to order during the white out of 2018 on the east coast and where it might take a week to week and a half to get to me in Spain it ended up taking nearly a month.

I purchased these in hopes of replacing my current C4Ts that I loved. These were not remotely the same. Much heavier overall which could be great for durability. The sole felt like a platform boot and the canvas was just too thick to be comfortable. Perhaps a couple of weeks to break in would do the trick. As with other reviews, these run at least a half size big. Overall not what I expected but Rocky's return process was quick and easy.

Great fit-need breaking in: NOISY

Just got them out of the box and the fit is exactly lime the first light weight lair I had and loved.
But let's talk about the canvas parts of the boot: it is so rigid that it sounds like Im waking on a tent. You wont get noise discipline points for wearing these and Im really hoping that it quiets down with wear because I love the boots so much.

I bought these and after only 50 miles the soles on both had split all the way around. I would recommend spending the extra money on the S2Vs.

I have 2 pairs of these boots and I wear them everywhere, including all day at work standing on concrete shop floors. These are like the best pair of sneakers you've ever owned. For real. I will say the back of the toe box where the laces start is usually tight until they get broke in. The insoles are literally some of the best I've seen and I've had many over the years.

Comfortable Boots

Very light weight and comfortable.
I have not used these boots in the "field", but for military, non-tactical operations, these boots are worth buying. They may very well be suited for more rigorous work than an office, but I can only review them based on actual usage.
I haven't had the need to hit the outdoors with these boots. If they they hold up to the rigors of heavy duty outdoor use, combined with their clear comfort level, they would be a five star rating.

I have no issues with boots except they are too stinking big. So if you order these order a half size smaller. I ordered 10.5 but if feels like a size 11.

Just got them and went on a weekend camping trip with family. I have to say great looking boot and was like wearing a pair of tennis shoes. Awesome on the hikes and also got many compliments about the look of them. Totally happy again with another set of Rocky boots.

Very Noisy

Had to return the boots because material of the boot uppers was unbearably noisy. They made a loud plastic crinkle noise with each step. The material is stiff rather than soft nylon. Don’t buy these.

Been wearing these boots for 3 weeks and they are very comfortable, lightweight, and allow your feet to breathe. There is one small section of sole that looks to be separated but I’m not sure if it will get any worse. So far it’s a solid product

My Feet Ache

I bought these boots because I wanted a light pair that were cheap and now I'm preparing to purchase a different set of boots because I can't take these boots anymore. I've had them for 3 months now and my opinion of them haven't changed. I've been in for 13 years and have never had a pair of boots make my feet ache like these do. There needs to be more support and cushion. I am surprised to see that I'm the first person to write a negative review and have only gone out of my way to write this to prevent others from making the same bad decision.

I am like most people on here who had C4T and loved them and was looking for something similar. These boots are NOT lightweight like they state. They are unbelievably crinkly and noisy. Have had them for a month and a half and they still make noise. I have only wore them to my work as an Army mechanic for a week of that time and the soles are already falling off. I will be returning. I am giving Rocky one more chance. I ordered the C4R in hopes it will be better. I used to swear by Rocky and recommended them to everyone, now I am not so sure. They definitely ain't what they used to be. Quality over the years has greatly depreciated. Just a really disappointing experience overall. What is going on Rocky? You're really pushing customers away when you easily could be the best and have proved it in the past.

I just got these in the mail and I was so excited because I always love my Rocky boots. However this particular boot style is uncomfortable to wear.
Additionally it sounds like you're wearing a wind breaker every time you take a step in it.
The only thing comfortable is the soles. Which is definitely nice but doesn't make up for the other factors.

I bought them 2 weeks ago and they're pretty heavy and not at all as comfortable. The previous ones, the ones that felt like pt shoes were awsome, but these...not so much!

This light weight boot falls short

I have had these for about 4 months in an office environment and already need replacing. The lightweight design/feel is excellent, but the durability is not. The soles are separating from the main body, and the synthetic materials have degraded tremendously. I like the Rocky brand, and have other Rocky Boot styles that were fantastic and recommend trying those.

I bought these pair of boots not knowing how long ago, but it does not seem to protect my feet too well as it rubs against my shank and my ankle a bit badly. Also, the size was wrong as well. I wore them only twice and then no more because they were not serving the purpose of comfort and were not doing me any favour.

Had these for over a year now and they're the best. Lightweight and comfortable. Only downside is they're thin af so watch your toes. Definitely going to get another pair, once these wear out. I had to box lace one boot but that's more my foot than the other

I have used these boots on my ruck marches and hikes including a 61 mile hike with pack that lasted 24 hours. They are light yet offer great cushion and stability. At the end of my 61 mile hike with pack I had no foot or ankle issues other than minor blisters that did not happen until the last 10-15 miles. They are also very durable and look good.

I have been looking for a pair of OCP boots for a while. I have always had rocky boots with ACU's, the desert tan ones, and have never had one complaint. They are really lightweight and cute. I originally wear a size 6W but figured I would go down to a 5.5W because I saw other reviews saying these run a bit large. I'm very glad I did because they do really run a bit big; order one size smaller then you think. The best thing about these boots is that you don't need to break these in at all. I got these the morning I did a 10 mile ruck and they were great. No problems whatsoever. They are a bit heavier then my desert tan ones but it's not a big difference. I really like them and I would buy them again. Great boots.

I have had these boots for less than two and a half months and the sole is already starting to separate. They are a pain to keep clean. I can't use all the eyelets and and even when I skip one my feet still kill me when I am wearing them. These boots may be lighter than issued boots but they aren't that lightweight. I am truly upset that I spent money on this pair of boots.
