I highly recommend this hat, especially since it has been cold, wet, and windy here in the hill country of Texas. The hat repelled all rain, the drawstring kept it firmly on my head, and the wide brim protected the back of my neck and kept my eyes protected from the rain. It is also one fine looking hat. I'm a retired professional soldier and a disabled combat vet...that means I am picky about my gear and have high standards...I am very happy with my hat. Thanks.

The oilskin hat is very nice. I have always liked this style of hat, but could never find one that I could wear out in the rain or snow without damaging it. I'm sure to use it more than my straw or felt hats.

I'm a dog walker in San Francisco and see all types of weather [except snow] and this hat performs very well. Good in high wind/rain the 'adventure straps' are kind of a cheap shoe string but work well keeping the hat on your head. The brim is very shapeable and so can be tweaked to fit your personal preferences. Overall a good buy, runs a little big , will have to buy a size down when i get a hair cut!

Completely waterproof and warm. Love this hat, wore it to Scotland, Wales, and London and was always dry and warm.

A good friend has worn this hat regularly and I finally decided I would need one to protect my head from the sun while looking stylish. Shipping was prompt and the fit is perfect. A fine product, all in all.

My first choice when the weather gets nasty and I wish to avoid rain garment or the umbrella. The hat has a distinguished, unpretentious destiny, less western appearance. The hat is (and must be) stiff due to its waterproof wax impregnation. So the hat can't snug as tight as a conventional hat. The fixation with the laces is obligatory and absolutely sufficient (especially in my stormy home coastal region). In consequence (if you behave politely and take your hat off) you will have to direct and trim the laces once again each time after. That's the price for leaving home the umbrella or rain garment. - Unfortunately my friends suppose that every hat with laces is a cowboy hat. Nowadays I use to reply I were an Australian kangaroo shooter! - My content summary: A very useful all-weather hat that exceeds my expectations. I don't want to miss it. It is definitely worthy.

Hat fit nicely and the waterproofing held up well, even versus the thyphoon I happened across while overseas. A minor complaint would be the visible stitches keeping the hat band attached.

Going by the size chart that was given, I measured 23.5 inches that called for an extra large.It was way too big. I returned it for a large that I know will be perfect. Now speaking of perfect,this hat is just that. It is everything that I expected it to be. Dundee is not going to have anything on me!
