Love these for casual trail hikes or even just around town, versatile and lighter weight than an all leather boot. I did add a different insert for more arch support, my arches are high.

I wanted to love these. The colour combination is gorgeous (the red and tan), but they were too narrow and hurt my foot within seconds of putting them on. I’m a 7.5 and sized down after reading reviews, but I shouldn’t have as they were way too tight. I would even size up to an 8 but the narrowness makes me doubt they’d fit anyhow. A bummer. If you have a narrow foot go for it! They are aesthetically so rad and feel so well made.

Heavenly. Perfect ankle support. Light weight. I have obscenely high arches and these shoes stabilize with perfect amount of cushion.

The shoes look good and are of good quality. I’ve only worn them once so far and it was a bit of a rough break in. I think they might be a little too roomy where it creases over the toe area and I need to get some thicker socks. Hopefully round two goes better!

I have used mine absolutely forever, and while the tread is now about gone, they have been comfortable and waterproof to the very end. seems about time to retire them, and will be getting another pair!

I now have three pairs of these boots. I wore the ‘Desert’ pair for more than a year before I realized they were not waterproof. They are lightweight, fit great right out of the box, can be laced tight or barely at all. Way better lateral stability than a trail runner, but not much arch support—if you need it buy insoles. The soles are grippy in all conditions—I log hundreds of miles a year in these—in the neighborhood with the dog, and on the trails in CO. If it’s not sandal season, chances are I’m wearing these. Collect em all!

They were way bigger than standard size and they came with notches and scratches on them

I purchased these boots a year and a half ago and about 2 months ago they developed a very loud squeak. It is both boots and it happens no matter what surface I walk on. I contacted customer support and tried all their recommendations (leather conditioner, new insoles, etc) but nothing worked and I am past the 1 year warranty. The squeak is so loud that I am embarrassed to wear these boots in public. I'm afraid to buy another pair for fear they will develop the same issue. I hate this because I otherwise LOVE these boots. They are comfortable and stylish.

I bought these shoes for a trip to Acadia NP. I didn’t have a lot of time to break them in before the trip, but fortunately these shoes really didn’t need much. On our trip they did well with both hiking and climbing, however there was some slipping with wet rocks. Overall I really like how comfortable the shoes are and I’m pretty impressed with their performance so far.

I have waited a very long time to write this review; bear with me. I ordered these in early December, to give ample break-in time for a March Grand Canyon rim-to-rim (21-mile) day hike. The first few wears, I had to adjust the lacing a lot to get them to feel just right and to avoid some rubbing on the ankles. Once I got that dialed, and replaced the inserts with SuperFeet, these were STELLAR. I stepped in a frozen mud puddle in December and my whole foot was submerged--never felt wet. We completed the 21-miler yesterday, and these boots saw me through the whole thing with no pain. I'm a Danner lifer now.

It didn’t hug my narrow foot. I tried to tighten the laces as best I could but I was swimming in the shoe.

The quality and look were great although I realized that I really needed a more flexible shoe for my backpacking trip.

Painful. There’s a tough spot where the tongue folds on the inside and it’s awful.

I gave it a 4 because the joint where the liner meets the outer leather stitching was sticking towards the ankle and was very sharp and uncomfortable. I was going to send them back, but my husband looked at them and said he could fix them. He took them and put them on his anvil and pounded on the sharp spots with a cobblers hammer and softened the knife sharp points into the soft, supple, pouting yummy leather they were designed to be. I tried them on again and they were perfect. Everybody needs a partner that can make the little imperfections perfect.

Have had these boots for over a year now and they are still too uncomfortable on my ankles to wear them on any long hikes. Need cotton balls on my ankle bones to prevent bruising. Should've returned them immediately but I thought I could break them in to no avail.

Really excited about these hiking boots! Wore them to Colorado with very little break in period. LOVE the feminine colors-the turquoise is great! I was worried about the dark brown leather being too dark but the blue and lighter laces make them perfect. I bought my regular size 8. Rubbed a little rough on my ankle when tied tight- but I think this will soften up after more use and not be a problem. Hiked 16 miles in 3 days and not a blister and sore spot. Waterproof too as I crossed a couple creeks and stayed dry! Great boot!

I'm in love with these boots. They are comfortable, like sneakers, versatile, and great quality. I have a bad/broken foot and these boots provide great support and I can wear them all day without fatigue. Great for hiking, rock scrambling, or wearing around town. I may just get myself a second pair.

They are all together lovely however the fabric above my toes creases darker than expected. Made them look very worn in from first use.

I ordered about 4 different pairs of jag boots to try and I actually did not keep this color- but went with the mocha bc it was more neutral. I had a question on the sizing bc of reviews and the customer support was wonderful in answering my questions. After wearing jag boots at a family camp this summer in Colorado for a week- I would say they were a must have. I had chacos, walking shoes and these. Between the extreme flux of temps and dusty, rocky and sometimes muddy terrain, there were several times I was grateful to have these perfect boots. From hiking to horseback riding, they were awesome. I live in Florida, so I was a little skeptical about my need for these boots- but I am from Michigan and visit family there several times a year, as well as other family members in the Tennessee mountains. I know I will use these a ton! And perhaps I will even find use for them in the cooler seasons in Florida. One tip I have, is try with different socks. The winner for me was wigwam ultra max thin wool socks. They are truly a gamechanger with these boots. I did not get any blisters with this combo. The boots themselves are lightweight and breathe well. They were waterproof in light rain as far as I could tell. I wear a size 8 and they fit just right with the thin wigwam socks. Not sure if they stretch with a thicker sock. If you have a chance to buy your normal size and a half up- I would do it to try them both on & return whatever works. I returned 3 boots with no problem (unworn and tags on).

Did some pretty strenuous hikes in the PNW. Kinda rough around the ankles at first but once broken in they were amazing! I have foot issues such as plantar fasciitis and they were super comfortable! Best hiking boots I’ve had in years!

Very comfortable! I have wide feet and they fit well even with thicker socks. The grip is perfect for hiking on rocky or wet trails.

These boots are very comfortable. They were larger than I expected, and I usually am a regular size 10. I put in insoles and they are great. Very waterproof up to standing in a downpour for an hour. Good for hiking on rocky trails. Very good looking too! I have gotten several compliments. Just a warning that these run large, so take that into consideration. Or buy your regular size and put in insoles.

These I ordered in a 9 instead of an 8.5. They're beautiful, but they're as comfortable as most of my Danners. They don't have quite the same arch support and my feet tend to turn in when I wear them.

The boots are awesome, unfortunately they run big. I’m a solid 9.5 and these felt like a 10 or 10.5. They were too big. I returned them and had to get a 9, not a huge deal but if your ordering now order a half size down or buy really thick socks to wear them with.

Good work boot, is true to size and holding up well so far. I’ve sprayed it with a suede protectant, and they seem to keep water out over the past month. Fairly non-slip, but not really intended for high slip environments. Easy to clean, easy to replace insole and laces later on.

I ordered my size and wore them a couple of hours and they are too big. I haven’t tried them with bulky socks but I’m disappointed. I can’t return them either.

Love these!! Great support, SO comfortable and they keep my feet warm in the winter when no other shoe does! Best shoe buy in a long time.

I have owned these for over a year now and couldn't be more pleased. First: they are super comfy. secondly: they really are waterproof. I bought them after hiking with not waterproof boots and I don't know why I waited so long. While my hiking partners are carefully hopping from stone to stone over creeks. I just stomp through. Thirdly: they are great in the snow, slush and on ice. Fourthly: they are warm. I did get some sweating in the summer when I wasn't wearing wool, but once I had some smartwool socks on, I had no problems. Finally: they look good and I've gotten quite a few compliments. I've walked on pavement up to six miles. I've hiked over moderate terrain and through creeks, mud, shoreline and up small rocky hills on trails up to six miles. I've stood around all day in them. I've slogged through snow on a bike path for three miles. The crazy thing is that they still look new and i have a tan/brindle pair so I was kind of expecting staining...but mud has been brushing off fairly easily. I would buy them again in a heartbeat and have been recommending them to everyone I know. Wouldn't take them on the AT but the are perfect for weekend hikes and the like.

I purchased these for a hiking trip to Big Bend National Park. I first tried the 2650 GTX, because I wanted a light weight durable hiking shoe, but they were just not comfortable and fit a little tight for me. I sent them back with no problems and went with the jag style in the same size. I am so happy with these boots! They took one local hike to wear in a little. The top of the boot was a little stiff, but like I said after one wear it did the trick. They have a little room, but I wear thick wool socks on my hikes so they fit perfect with the socks. This is the most comfortable hiking shoe I have owned. They are light weight for a boot, have good traction and I could comfortably wear them all day. They were easy to clean. I just hosed them down with water and they dried overnight. Overall great boot!

These are very comfortable. I recommend getting the brush to keep them clean. Also, I know they say "waterproof" but after 6 months it's always good to start treating them with the "waterproof spray" just to keep them looking good as new! I got 3 pairs, all different colors and couldn't be happier.

These are great boots. Lightweight but very comfortable. They ran very big for me and I had to order an entire size below my usual.

The only thing I would recommend is getting a half size bigger than you usually would as my regular size was too tight for me. Wore them for the first time on a 5K loaded hike the other day and I was surprised by how much traction there was, they were better than my Rocky's. The only other complaint I would have is the length of the shoelaces, I will probably go buy my own shorter ones. Well designed boots that look nice too. Would recommend to anyone and everyone!

So lightweight and super comfortable. I literally broke these in on a 7 mile hike with no discomfort or blistering! Awesome hiking shoes, just love them. Also incredibly cute which is an added bonus.

I bought these boots for my wife. We hike every day from our house, we live in the mountains outside of Helena, Montana and she wanted something waterproof with stability for her ankle. These boots were exactly what she wanted and she is enjoying them very much.

Took a minute to work them in of course. Only complaint, the height on the ankle cuts in a little bit, but got much better once broken in! Overall, I love them!

I don’t hike really, but I am a farmer. I am on my feet doing heavy work all day long on all kinds of terrain and these are AMAZING. They are so comfortable and did not need breaking in. They are true to size or maybe slightly big. I can wear them with thin or thick socks and both feel fine. These are TOTALLY waterproof!! I was watering a small garden bed and didn’t realize that the hose was leaking directly into the top of my foot. I could have wrung these boots out but not a DROP was inside- my socks were completely dry. I’ve had these boots caked in thick mud, burned pasture char, in animal pens, and in muddy puddles. They perform in everything Ive thrown at them. To me they were a splurge because of the price, but I’ll tell ya- I’m going to buy another pair. They’re worth every penny.

I ordered these in the tan and green a couple of years back. Love the style and comfortable. However the stitching in the boots, where it meets the ankles, is a bit rough and have caused a lot of discomfort. I’ve had to stick a bandaid or some cushioning in both shoes. Otherwise, comfortable right out of the box, and have used for urban hiking and camping. I’ve had them for a couple of years now.

I walk in the rain with them and my feet stay dry, they are so comfortable. My foot doesn’t “lift” out of the shoe when I walk so I don’t get blisters. It’s light weight. I walk 6-8 miles everyday, rain or shine and this is my preferred shoe to do it in ;)

These are true to size And really comfortable. I am at a job where I work alot and pon my feet 12 to 16 hrs a day with no break My feet don't feel tired at the end of the day I love them!

I kind of hate to give them a 3/5 because I really love how they look and I love the idea of them. I’m also sure they’ll last a while because of their construction. But. A few negatives: they’re not very comfortable for me after 3-5 hrs. I had to put extra insoles in and they’re still not super great. Also, I saw some reviews that said they wore them in the desert and their feet weren’t overly hot… Wore them camping in the Tetons a few weeks ago and my socks were basically completely soaked within like a half hour of wearing them. I don’t sweat excessively so thought it was just the extreme weather, but they’re honestly just kinda like little sweat traps. There was also a very rough seam inside the shoe where the top of the tongue attaches to the upper ankle that was like being stabbed by a hard piece of plastic all day long. So at the end of the day getting these on sale was the only thing that didn’t make me regret this purchase but I’m still kind of disappointed with them. Hopefully they’ll suit my needs better in the colder seasons.

I love the look and support of these boots, am worried the fit may be off. Read a lot of reviews on sizing and decided to go with a women’s 8. I’m normally a 7.5-8 in most shoes. Am hoping with inserts and thicker hiking socks they will work.

I am loving these boots. I wear them 5 days/week for my job as a USAR dog trainer at National Disaster Search Dog Foundation. I am on my feet all day on various surfaces: sidewalks, streets, slippery/sandy hillsides, rubble piles, etc. They’re comfortable, light, durable, stable, and look great! They’ve already saved my ankle once or twice working across the rubble pile. They seem to run true to size. Thanks, Danner!

I typically love danner boots and wear them for everything from farming to backpacking. I bought these specifically for hiking and I must say that they’re more of a sturdy street shoe. The fit is good, I actually sized a half size down and they fit well. However, the tread is sub-par for the amount of hiking I do. Thus, I will probably wear them out and about, but buy a pair of mountain 600s (which I’ve had before and LOVED) for any intense hiking or backpacking. That said, they’re a nice little comfy boot for wearing around town or doing light hiking.

No break in required. Super comfortable and surprisingly great breathability. Hiked in AZ and had no complaints. GlD I made the purchase!

They look great, but have a pokey seam just above the ankle that hurts like heck. Not wearable

Seem to run big. They are not as great as the Midnight Jag which is the shoe I prefer. But sadly they have been out of stock I. More common sizes for far too long. I settled this this inferior Jag. Not hapabout it

I bought these 18 months ago. Would love to order another pair, but they are discontinued. I am a landscaper, and these were the first boots that I got compliments on. Beautiful color, and narrow, instead of wide toe. Durable, comfortable, yet feminine. Please don't discontinue.

I typically wear cowboy boots but I needed something with tread that I could take anywhere and use for any adventure. This is definitely the boot for that. I could not be happier. The styling is a total plus too!

Great fit, true to size and broke them in fairly well in 9 days. Just wore in the snow and had dry warm feet. I love these boots. I had a pair of the originals in high school and was happy to get another pair before they sold out!

Danner never fails me! I do normally somewhat short moderate/advanced hiking up to 10-12 miles. Perfect for those small Tennessee streams in and out of the hollers! :rofl::grin:. Heading to Havasupia Falls this spring and thinking of wearing them for the hike in and out! Super comfortable and true to size. Grip has been great and the arch fits me perfect! On here actually looking for another pair of jags and buying the river combers finally!

This boot feels extremely unreliable and not durable at all…lightweight, in a bad way. It felt really cheap actually.

I haven’t taken them out in the wild just yet-however I did try them on at home and they feel great! I expected a more rigid/stiff feel and was surprised they weren’t. It’s almost like they’re already worked in and ready to go! Excited to try them out on our next trip. Will keep you posted on traction and waterproof abilities!

Perfect fit, and excellent support for garden work, using a shovel, and walking on uneven ground. The boots shed soil easily, and always look good. Goes great with harem pants, got a lot of compliments at the farmer's market.

I just received these boots and overall they fit perfect. I am a size 9 with a high instep. It will take a while for them to stretch slightly to my instep. I love how cushiony the footbed is. Also, I love the color combo of this boot. When I’m in nature I like to be comfortable and wear colors that fit in with nature not stand out in it.

Very comfortable! I went with a half size smaller and they still have the room I need for hiking. Great ankle support also, I might get inserts for arch. And definitely waterproof! All in all, great shoe.

LOVED these boots probably 25-30 years ago and when they finally gave up their usefulness I was soooo bummed…when I saw them again jumped right on ordering and was super happy when they came. I really look forward to wearing these when it turns cooler.

Love these boots! They get more comfortable each time I wear them. I live in Montana and have worn them for all day fishing and short hikes. The traction has been great for incline hiking without a real “trail”, and they’re not too heavy. Plan on wearing these for years.
