Started out comfortable. The right boot eventually developed a crease above the toes that makes driving very uncomfortable

Upon receiving the boots, I hiked several mountain trails around Tucson and Phoenix. These hiking boots were comfortable right out of the box. Would definitely purchase another pair.

I’ve hiked about 400 miles over trails and on urban streets over a year+. Only footwear for 35 days hiking Via Francigena. Surprisingly little wear on sole or otherwise. Great boots for a broad range of weather and underfoot conditions. Got Rain? Count your Blessings! Got Cobblestones? No Problem! Got Wet Clay? Keep on Truckin. Relatively light yet very supportive and cushioning. Adequate to Good moisture ventilation begins to be overwhelmed in Desert or high heat environs. High quality leather loves to be oiled and cared for and gives these boots a timeless look. This is a quality boot designed by experienced folks in the know about hardscrabble stuff. Very good materials and workmanship. Great boots, got 3 pair.

The best boot that feels like a shoe on the market

These are the best boots ever. As an avid hiker, I hike in all kinds of weather. I have tried several pairs of boots from other manufactures that claim to be waterproof and are not. With Danner, my feet never get wet. They fit great, and are comfortable for long hikes.

Fit great but make sure you consult Danners size chart. Very effective way to get the right size. Looks great and feels great. Have had several impressed lookers.

The most comfortable boot I have ever owned. Walked 3 miles in them the first time I put them on with no pain whatsoever.

Pretty much put them to work as soon as they arrived. 12+ hour days for 3 weeks out in the dirt and mud. Feet never hurt and the boots were immediately comfortable. Plenty of traction and the water never got through. So far very happy.

I've had a pair of these for the last couple of years, and they are my go-to when conditions shift. I've worn them on hikes in Oregon, Colorado, and California and they've stood up nicely (though the hikes weren't too strenuous). They also shine living in the city, as they can easily take on downpours, hurricane-level rains, and up to about 6 inches of snow on the ground with little issue. I get tired of them by the end of winter because I wear them so often.

These boots are very high quality and fit/feel great. You get what you pay for with Danner.

I have worn many Danner boots and loved them all until now. These are blister makers. Steel toe box is too narrow. Tge tounge meets the boot right over the ball of my ankle on the inside. Takes the skin right off in a few hours.

I have several pairs of Danner boots/shoes. These boots are lightweight and very comfortable on moderate terrain. Today I spent several hours on a trail in driving rain and my feet were soaked. Thinking a better name would be "danner not so dry" as mine is not the only review indicating the lack of waterproofing. My danner goretex boots are golden. The 600s, not so much.

Great boots, best I have found for my bunion. There is still some pressure on the sensitive area but I’m reshaping the leather with an improvised shoe stretcher.

Most comfortable boot I have have owned or worn. Took virtually no break in period. Quite handsome as well.

This was my second pair of these boots. Hi I am a delivery driver for UPS and they hold up very good. My only complaint is they aren’t super breathable

Best hikers we have tried and with 8 of us we have tried a lot. Good ankle support but not to high, excellent water proofing that lasts as long as each poor I've had (3rd now). Excellent grip which is better than all of the Keens, Xero Shoes, and Salomons we have tried. Much better than my buddies Altra's, he slid on rock next to me as I was glued to it. Can't wait to try the new Evo 600'ms as backpack a decent bit and just use these although a bit more solid mid sole would be nice for that.

Love these boots! Recently put approximately 30 tough hiking miles on these and they held up great. Comfortable, no hot spots, and kept my feet dry.

Took hardly any time to break these awesome boots in. I have hiked in the Texas Hill Country, swamps in Florida, and many other types of terrain in a few short weeks. Worth every dollar!

The boots are light weight for the size, fit nicely and have a very comfortable feel to them. The soles and base of the boot are cushy and have excellent grip. The boots are actually nicer than I thought they would be. I am looking forward to wearing them out and seeing how the refurbish process works as well. Excellent value for the boot!

Great boot. I originally ordered it for a nice town boot in winter and ended up wearing it nearly every day because it was so comfortable. As Danner recommends, I first ordered 1/2 size smaller and then I ended up ordering a full size smaller (from 12.5 to 11.5 US). I have an average to narrow width foot and the boot is roomy without being sloppy. I also did not want an insulated boot (ie., sweaty) and this boot is warm and seems to breath well. The suede texture is holding up better than I expected. Traction is good to great depending upon the snow type/wet surface. I am very happy with this boot and would recommend it if it fits your foot.

I have basically worn Danner footwear, both on and off the job, for well over a decade. In fact, further back in time now that I think of it. Of all of the several styles (some for work, some for "dress" - yes, I have those expressly for "dressing up") the Mountain 600 has been, and remains, the best Danner style I've ever encountered. Rugged, stylish, and light, this style is my mainstay. I am often complemented on the looks of my "dress" boot as well as questioned about the pair I wear in field settings. The ones I wear daily (that fit like a glove) are over a decade old, yet remain my primary "outdoor boot" - their ruggedness is a testament to their construction. I have another broken-in pair for semi-dress occasions (not for field use - they are pampered) and I recently acquired a "Sunday go-to-Meetin" pair, brand new. I cannot overemphasize the light, repeat light, yet rugged aspect of the boot; I must repeat both light & rugged!!!! I'm not certain Danner hasn't consulted with, if not retained Elves to have designed, and then construct this model. Seriously, the Mountain is the best of all the models and styles I've encountered in Danner's line for my purposes (a lot, I repeat lot, of outdoors use), period.......I grin as I write this, cause I'm wearing my rugged, ancient ones right now. Great boot out of the box! I hiked 3.5 miles the first day without discomfort. This is my 3rd pair over tge last 4 years, I hike about 15 to 20 miles a week. I've tried most of tgevtrip brands out there, Danner wins by a Long shot. Great boit!

First time in many years I have worn "glued" boots. Relied on stitched boots, but cannot find a pair. Initil quality seems very good. No break-in time. Hope glued parts hold up.

Fit as expected. Very comfortable. I have been buying Danner for 30 years now. Like a lot of things nothing ever stays the same. But I have had continued quality products.

I like the fit and the overall comfort. I wish the soles didn't flair out so much in the rear and even just a little cut defining the heel would be nice. A boot to me has to have a defined, if not separate heel. The ring lace ups are ok, I would prefer regular eyelet holes or speedlace holes. And do not like the hooks at all, but I am ok with it. My left boot when laced up completely pressed painfully against the inside of my left ankle. I tried adding a pad, it still was bad. I helps if I push the padded tongue over to cover the area. There was nothing else to do, maybe if there was more padding inside the ankle area of the boot. The soles grip equally as well as an approach shoe, but not as good as a rock climbing shoe. Which is to be expected. Finally, the rear cut to the top of the shoe prevents tying the laces around the top. Maybe less of a severe drop would be better.

Not enough padding around the tongue on the right foot boot as the third eyelet down from the top digs into the top of my foot causing me to not tight the boots at all so it feels loose. I did not have this problem on my old pair which I have had for 4 years.

I have other Danner boots but needed something with heavier construction to prevent cactus needles from penetrating and these do the job. My other Danner boots required no break-in period, but because of the leather construction of this boot, they did take a couple of brief wearings to fit my foot just so. No complaints though since I expected this with leather boots. I did purchase red laces to dress them up a bit and am hoping the rattlesnakes will appreciate this.

These are the most comfortable hiking boot I have ever put on. You could put these boot on out of the box an hike for three weeks without a problem. I bought my first pair of Danner boots in the 70’s an have never looked back.

Excellent day hikers for three seasons. Light weight for ascents. Soles protect from sharp rocks & leather sides high enough to avoid abrasions. Good traction & quick to place.

I like the boots, and they are very comfortable. As with every Danner boot I have ever bought they leak even though these are the best I’ve ever had. I walk in the early morning when there’s heavy dew and my feet are not totally wet, but are damp. Other than that they’re a great boot.

I was looking for a lightweight boot for backpacking. These boots are comfy right out of the box. The soles are grippy and stable and the ankle support is solid. Day one of a dry backpacking trip in the Cascades and toe rubber was already starting to peel. I would expect this after a number of hikes, but from the outset? Seems like a glue/design fail. Bummed to have to return them.

Second pair, miles of turkey hunting on first ones. Wore like a pair of running shoes. No more rubber boots to wear out my old knees. Purchased a quality gaiter to keep debris/bugs out

Don't take the title the wrong way. I love these boots. The boots were all day comfortable right out of the box. My first pair of non-military hiking boots weighed 3# each 50 years ago, these are barely noticeable. The anti-roll stability of this boot is outstanding. I have tried to roll over my ankles (notoriously weak) and haven't been able to, even intentionally. These boots will take me anyplace I am inclined to go at 70.

To be fair, I just got these boots today, but they are by far the best fitting new boots I've ever worn. Being full grain leather, I expected a bit of time for breaking them in...no problem with that...but these fit like a glove right out of the box, and are unbelievably comfortable - with no break in! Count me in as a Danner fan!

Great lightweight boot. Comfortable and high quality. No break in period required on these. I did find they run a half size larger than other boots

This is the second pair of Mountain 600 boots I have bought. They are lightweight, very comfortable and perfect for short hikes. So far they have been comfortable in the warm South Carolina weather, but I have not worn them in the miserable hot summer weather yet. The fit is perfect, Danner recommends 1/2 size less. The boots look nice, I wear them everywhere. I am completely satisfied and would recommend them to anyone wanting a light weight hiking boot.

This pair was purchased to replace an identical pair that are nearly worn out. I am hard on boots. I typically wear out a pair of boots in a year. My first pair of Danner 600's have lasted more than two years, I hope these serve me as well. I have wide feet with high instep. With Redwings I usually wear an EEE, these Danner wides fit just fine. Boots are very comfortable. They're great everyday boots.

Comfortable, light, good grip. After 2 weeks daily hiking use, exterior leather is scuffed, dirty, does not look like it will hold up beyond one season.

I love these hikers. They (the original, not the recraftables) are comfortable from the first step. Danner unfortunately gave the recraftables the same name. The recraftables are not the same boot. I’ll not comment further on those, but I am delighted to be back in the 600’s.

Ive always had a love hate relationship with hiking boots. Everything about them from fit to styling to actually keeping me dry. I’ve had mine for 5-6 years and they’ve only just gotten the slightest opening at the seem that can easily be mended. Im from a place with a lot of salt and snow and they’ve held up superbly with minimal maintenance. As this recent tear is the first problem in what I believe will be a ten year lifespan. I had to pop over here and give a resounding five stars. These boots were my first Danners and have made me a life long fan.

Very good shoes, I am hard to fit so they aren't perfect but I have inserted orthotics. I wish the ankle rise were an inch or two higher, as well. These are just my personal preferences.

I have owned a pair of Danner Mountain 600s for over one year, so I knew the quality, ruggedness, and craftsmanship that came with these boots. I use them for everyday life, hunting, and hiking. The grip on these boots in most terrain is second-to-none! I own three different styles of this same boot and have removed all other similar boots from my wardrobe. These boots keep my feet dry and the warmth is amazing. In Poland, the temperature, on average, was just above freezing and my feet remained warm, even when sitting for long periods of time. I highly recommend the Mountain 600!

This boot is very comfortable and light compared to other hiking boots I’ve had. I only give a 4 of 5 because I haven’t had them very long yet, just a couple hikes in. No complaints though..

I ordered the "rich brown" color. I received a light tan sueded leather. I liked the construction of the boot; the color, not so much. The size does seem to run large. I returned them.

It’s a comfortable lace up, out of the box, no break in time or squeaking issues.

Purchased a pair of Mountain 600 B Men's size 9.5 D width, my regular size, on 3/20/2023. Boots are narrow causing foot pain in the toe area. I had hoped after breaking in they would be better. Not so. I wouldn't purchase another pair.

I got a size too small and returned these. Ended up with nubuck 600s and hiked a hard rocky 5 miles with zero break in. They felt amazing.

Got a pair in 11 wide. Fit is great, felt comfortable on feet out of the box. The waterproofing is great. The main use for these is working, but I have hiked with them as well. I always wear wool socks with them, and they don't hold odors. Seem to be grippy on most surfaces, a bit less grip on wet river and stream rocks, but what isn't? They look and feel great, and I highly recommend them!

They fit well, and so far have been holding up to vigorous work. However, I'm having trouble with the leather holding up to water and scuffing. It doesn't seem to reject water staining, or scuff marks, so they just don't look good without a lot of cleaning and re-spraying with various leather sprays...including Danners'. Just doesn't seem to be a good quality of leather, but they fit so well I hate to give up on them just yet.

Love these boots. Have hundreds of trail miles on them and even more street miles. Super comfy and still look great after all these miles. Can't recommend them enough.

These boots are extremely comfortable right out of the box. The boots are well built and light. I am using these for day hikes and they are perfect. Not as supportive in the arch as my other danner hunting boots “steel shank”, but that is expected. Overall the boots are great for someone looking for an all day boot for moderate hiking. The boots fit true to size

Very comfortable. But the color is not rich brown. It should be called pumpkin or like orange/tan.

They seem like well made boots after 100 miles of use, but I have two issues with them. One minor, one major. First, the boots "squeak" quite a bit. I thought it would quiet down after break-in, but it seems to be getting worse. Second, and more problematic, is the left boot tongue rubs on my inner ankle. I have to skip the second loop on the lacing in order to relieve the pressure. The right boot feels amazing. I think I just got bad luck with a slightly larger bump in the seam on the left tongue. Any feedback on how to fix this is appreciated!

Very comfortable shoes. The top portion rubbed against my ankle for a bit but after a few hikes i think it feels much better. Excited to get on the trail this fall and see how it holds up with mud and rain.

Great boot! The only thing I researched and is true to these is that they run big. I take a size ten shoe and a 9 1/2 fits perfect with these!

Comfortable right out of the box. I bought these for a trip to Zion. Put on a number of slightly wet/snowy miles and they were great. This is not a negative, but I thought the leather would be smooth, instead, it was more like suede or soft leather. Mine didn’t really look like the picture.

Great comfy and quality shoe ! But on this first day of wearing it i had to switch to a high sock since I couldn't walk with an Mid high sock. literally I was in so much pain that had to go back and switch socks. After few days the material got softer and i could wear back the shoe Danner could do better !

My second pair of mountain 600’s. They fit fine just like my first pair and feel great right out of the box. I walk an average 4 miles/day on pavement. I wear the 600’s from November to May here in PA and I got about two years out of the first pair before the soles wore out. Highly recommended!

So far so good. I actually have 2 pairs of these boots. One for work and one for casual. The only thing I would change is when I am tying them up, the shoe string likes to come out and I have to start over. If that makes sense? Maybe a thicker lace?

Boots are beautiful and very comfortable. They do run a bit large. I am usually a size 11 athletic shoe and bought a 10.5 and glad I did. My biggest concern is breathability. My socks are always damp at the end of the day after wearing these. I've owned several pairs of Gore-Tex/leather boots and never had dampness issues like I have with these.

Good looking but a bit unsubstantial - the sole seems dodgy for a 200+ pounder and the lacing revealed leather that's a bit thin. I don't think they're a good value, at all.

I have achilles tendonitis and these are my go-to boot. I wear them everyday. They have never caused a flair up. So comfortable and supportive.

Sheplers promptly delivered the boot I wanted. It didn't fit my foot although it was the size and width I ordered. Wider was not available and I returned the boots. No problem with Sheplers or Danner. Blame my weird, aging feet and possibly, the wrong "last" for them. Too bad. Appeared to be a great boot and all that I wanted.

These are not serious hiking boots. They’re fashion boots. The build quality is cheap. They skimped on the padding so the fit isn’t right. And if you tie them tightly the laces dig into your foot. The underfoot feel is hard as a rock and feels cheap. The outsole isn’t nearly as grippy as they used to be. They moved these boots downmarket while still charging that premium price. The name Danner used to mean quality. They’re throwing that reputation away with subpar offerings like this. Don’t buy.

So far so good.havent had much of a chance to try them out yet. I like that there very light weight. May be slightly wide in the front arch area but again I need to really get out there. Overall pretty stoked so far

The color received did NOT match the color displayed online. However, I remedied that with dark shoe polish. Other than that, I love these boots. I'm a UPS driver and we have appearance standards (brown or black polishable leather uppers) and most of these fit the bill. Although it would be great for you all to make a more breathable version of these because these get really hot. You'd get a lot of business from UPS drivers. I go through about 3 pairs a year and there's like 200,000 of us drivers, just saying!

Just right for medium treks in cool weather/colder weather in the US midwest. Love the relaxed and less-techno styling.

Very happy with the look, fit and of course quality of these boots that are a replacement for my 15 year old low model 600s. There are very few companies left in the wold like Danner.

The website said the boots run 1/2 size too large. Not for me but the exchange was quick and easy. I found the toe cap to be too small, as I am rough on hiking boots, and I had to enlarge it. Also I added better insoles, but that’s normal for any shoe. Boots fit well out of the box, comfortable to wear, great traction. Construction looks good. Time will reveal durability.

These were very comfortable right out of the box. No breaking in was needed. This has been typical of the 5 different pairs of boots I have bought from Danner. Wore them pheasant hunting on the prairies of South Dakota this month and enjoyed the light weight and stability they gave me. Would recommend to others to try out.
