I bought three brands of boot socks to compare: Justin JOW, Thorlo, Dan Post. I find Dan Post to be the most comfortable with the right amount of cushioning, and they stay up all day. Thorlo comes in second.

Finally wore out a pair from 5 years ago. I have some that are 30 years old that I use when I hunt. Won't wear anything else but these socks with my boots. Ride or work, doesn't matter. You stay comfortable all day long.

Nice heavy duty well padded sock but runs very large. So much that there was too much sock for the boot unless I pulled the heel up past my ankle. Will order the small next time for shoe size 8.5

I never had boot socks before but, I'm glad I bought some. All they had was large at the time but, I bought a couple pairs and I really like the way they fit and protect. They don't come down not even when I wear rubber boots which my old socks always cam down in. I'm waiting for some mediums to be delivered right now. That's how much I like these socks.

Dan Post's boot socks are the best I've ever worn. They are extra long and ride clear up to your knees, and they stay put without being unconfortable at all. They're THICK and HEAVY, and the fabric wears well. I just bought 6 more pair, as my last set finally wore out after wearing them every day for 4 years. 4 YEARS! Well worth the money --they're not cheap, but you do get what you pay for.

These socks are good and high quality, however be aware that they are VERY thick and can be a little tight in boots. I found the black ones to the thinner - not cheap, but rather not as thick as the white ones.

On a recent 8000 mile ride around USA I renewed my respect for natural fibres, America must be the last place on earth you can buy cotton socks. They absorb moisture better, and dont smell as bad as synthetics. These socks meet all my expectations, light, warm, and they stay up without cutting my legs off. Excellent value too.

They don't fall down - even the pairs that are starting to wear thin at the toes and ankle still stay up.. Nice if they had different colors to select from, but that's only because white doesn't age well with my bachelor style laundry habits..

I've just bought four pair of these boot socks and my initial impression of them is that they are a good quality sock. I won't know how they hold up over the long term until they've been worn and washed a few times but they are well made and very comfortable so I expect to get a lot of use out of them.

I've been looking for good "cotton" boot socks and finally found them. These Dan Post Cowboy Certified boot socks are 80% cotton and stay up ALL DAY !!! I bought a 2 pack to try out and ended up ordering three more 2 packs. I wear a 13D boot and bought size medium socks after reading some of the Reviews and they fit perfectly. I no longer rid a horse but still wear boots. I have used Dan Post boot socks since I first become aware of them back in 08 The socks are the only ones that do stay up. I ride a motorcycle now and again the socks help keep my legs warm. While I have a need it will always be Dan post socks and of course I buy them from Sheplers.

These are the best socks I've ever owned! I've never been able to find a sock that was both tall enough and strong enough to stay above my calf and prevent the insides of my boot straps from rubbing the skin off the inside of my calves. ***a note on the sizing... These run big. I wear a size 14 boot so I ordered the large socks... Yeah, there big on even my foot.***

Comfortable socks that stay up above the calf. They are not the cheap, thin socks you sometimes see. These are definitely on the thick side, which gives a nice cushion, but they aren't too thick where it makes your boots too tight. Just be aware that if your boots fit tight, these may not be the best for you. What is really great though is once you pull them on, you don't have to reach down to pull them up...they don't slip down or slouch down. Highly recommend!

I have only worn them a few times but they stay up all day! I do wish there was also a version that was thinner material on the top. I am not sure how they will be to wear under my boots in the summer. Might be warm to have socks up to my knees? The foot portion fit perfectly and was very comfortable feel inside my boot. The are plenty tall and don't fall down or bunch up in the bottom of your boot. I can where them for 12 hours and never have to pull them up. They stay very cool. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Not your standard Racing Stripe tube socks, these are thick cotton-blend socks - made in America, and very comfortable. You don't need foam inserts in your boots anymore - these are thick comfortable socks. They cost... but they last.

Been buying these for years! Used to be super high quality! Thick, comfortable and long lasting, good fit and the form stayed true. NO LONGER GOOD! Be warned! The cheap poorly made materials are NOT worth the price! They wear thin in 3 to 5 wears, super thin material and poorly made, no longer comfortable and the fit/shape is awful. This product is no longer useful to me, they are making it so cheaply now its truly pathetic!

I've been wearing boots all my life, and I have to admit these are the best socks I've ever found. Due to the elastic placement, they stay up and do not fall down into the boot. I've bought them several times now, and plan on buying more in the future. I will never go back to department store over the calf socks.

These socks fit my large, wide feet extremely well. I've worn out other socks while wearing my cowboy boots, but these don't wear out nearly as quickly. I've tried finding them in stores and at horse shows, but these aren't easy to find for men's sizes.

My recent purchase in December 2018 was a major disappointment. Sheplers was still showing the Dan Post socks that go back many years, which are no longer available. DP used to describe their socks as "up to the knee" and they indeed were. Now, however, DP has replaced the original socks with something DP calls Over The Calf - and it includes a new label which - as of this writing - is NOT what Shepler showed, but is what I received. They are about THREE INCHES SHORTER and absolutely suck.

one out of 4 pair already had a hole near the front ankle; another pair simply ripped away from the foot as they were pulled on! What a waste of money. We really needed good socks which stayed up inside boots and offered support.

I really like these socks, and ordered a small as recommended for my size 10. I find them a little on the small side, and would order medium next time. Pity they only come in white as well, but under boots who really cares. Great service as always, but the new shipping rates for overseas orders are hard to justify. Maybe Sheplers needs to look at cheaper options rather than International Air Express only.

I have worked on a small subsistence farm and horse ranch since I was six years old and faced working conditions that required top of the line gear. What we could not make at home we bought in town during the two or three times a year we had the opportunity to do that. For years now I have had problems buying work clothes because of my needs and physical size [ 6' 9" - 247 Lbs with size 14 feet] so always had shirts, trousers and boots made by family members until recently when I found Carhartt gear. I was buying their "boot socks" but have been disappointed with the cotton/polyester blend. Then I found these Dan Post socks and I will never look back because they are mostly cotton and much longer so they reach to just under my knees which is 17" from my ankle bone. These socks are so comfortable, like someone is messaging my feet & legs, and when you spend 16-18 hours a day on your feet or on a mount, that is a welcome comfort. I will buy more of these soon just to have enough to last for years in case they stop making them. For the record, I am the smallest Man in our family, that is why I have the nickname " Little Fritz"

I have been struggling to find a boot sock that will stay up all day. Every sock I have purchased to this point has had to be pulled up at least twice a day or more. Not these! The only issue I have found is if your foot size is close to the limit of the sock sizes, you might go with the bigger sock. My foot is a 10 - 10.5 so I got the small socks. They were tight on the tip of my big toe. Went up a size and there was my answer! I am ordering more.

I never had "boot socks" before, but wow what a difference they make. Like them so much, my young son wants a pair himself. Would especially recommend them if you plan on wearing the boots all day. A little pricey, but the comfort difference compared to regular socks makes it worth it.

These socks are superb. They are very comfortable and soft to wear, and cushion the foot when walking. My feet don't seem to sweat as much in these socks. Do yourself a favour and give them a try.

Not quite what I expected only because I was not expecting the sock height to be 3/4 to the knee. The description on line should note the height of the sock. Other than that they are thick and made very well.

These socks are very nice. I haven't worn them yet but they are nice and long and the elastic seems strong enough to keep the socks up without having to constantly pull them up. I have purchased several items from Shepler's and have been very pleased with the merchandise and I will continue to order.

These socks stay up better than any I've had before and are very comfortable. I'm size 10.5 and they have a size for, say, 8-10.5 and one for, say, 10.5-13. The larger ones are pretty big for a 10.5 foot, but the smaller ones work fine.

Great socks!!! they don't rub your toe in cowgirl boots, they come up to the knee in a tall cowgirl and the support for the angle and arch is just what we needed for a cowgirl boot!!! Good job. Please make a dark color.

This cowboy works for a living, and I can tell you that Dan Post's boot socks are the best thing going. I spend 13-15 hours a day working in an old pair of Durango boots I bought 15 years ago. These socks not only stay put clear up to your knees, they're thick and comfortable as well. They do not slide down at all, and the elastic is top drawer. They're not cheap, but you get what you pay for, and I'd say that's about as good as it gets.

Bought a couple pairs of these Dan Post socks to try out with some new boots. Once my boots are broken in, I’m guessing these will be among my favs. They are on the thick side, so if you’ve got a little wiggle room to take up, they’ll be great. They are soft and plush, and they actually do stay up on my rather large calf. I’m 6’6” and 300+ lbs. Hard on socks and real picky when it comes to my feet. These socks are keepers. Good value in my opinion.

I was a little apprehensive about puchasing these socks however they are great. After being washed they fit perfectly and have just the right amount of cushion for your feet and protect your calves against chaffing from your boots. A good buy for anyone wearing cowboy boots.

I really like the padded heels & toes of the socks. I wear Dan Post boots, so why not wear the socks. I would like to see maybe a gray color or darker colors.The white are hard to keep white. Use for work, motorcycle, and skiing. Warm, comfortable, and stay up without choking circulation. A good long sock, nothing worse than a bare shin if the trouser legs ride up. Please America, dont stop making cotton socks, you're just about the last place they can be got, and even at 80% cotton, these are starting to scrape the barrel. Synthetics get to smell faster, and the thicker they are, the more uncomfortable they get.

I had bought some of these socks in large because it was all they had and I wanted to try them. So, when they got some mediums in I just had to buy a bunch. I really like these socks. There great in all boots not just western. They'll be great while rubber boots when hunting in the rain because they don't slip down like all my other socks.

These are the best socks I've ever worn and I've worn a lot of socks in my 54 years. They stay up! Maybe that is a bigger deal for me than other people but that is my # 1 requirement from boot socks, stay above the top of the stinking boots. These do that all day long and all night as well. I also tried two super expensive brands of socks and in spite of costing as much for one pair as these Dan Post's did for three pair they weren't as good. They weren't as long and they didn't stay up. From now on I will wear nothing but Dan Post Cowboy Certified socks with my boots.

I’m a size 8EE and these were too big in the footbed. Lots of excess heel fabric bunching up by my achilles. Fit like most generic “fits sizes 6-12” socks do on me. They do stay up pretty decently over the calves though.

Unless you have bought your boots two sizes too big, don't waste your money on these things. The socks are so thick that it is impossible to get your boots on. They are worthless.

These socks do not get all bunched up at the bottom of my boots, which is one of the most annoying things in the world to me. They are also reasonably thick and durable, a much better value than the inexpensive tube socks that are sold at your big box retail stores.

I only wear cowboy boots except at the gym. These socks hold the foot print and the elastic is great. They are a perfect fit and protect the calf from boot top rubbing - especially for new boots.

I'm glad I tried these socks, I almost didn't (I thought they were way too expensive). They are without a doubt the best socks I have ever owned! It makes wearing cowboy boots a whole different experience. There is NO way these socks can slip down inside your boots. They are definitely worth the cost. I started off with (2) pairs; but plan on buying (2) pairs a month until I have at least (8) pairs to get me through a week's worth of wear. Unless you have tried them, you can't appreciate them. They are definitely NOT your every day over-the-calf or tube socks!

I wear a 10 1/2 B size cowboy boot and purchased the medium size Dan Post Certified Boot socks. The fit and comfort is excellent. They don't slip down even after wearing them all day. They aren't too bulky for me and do not make the boots fit too tight. I believe these are the best boot socks available anywhere.

Never tried the Dan Post CC boot socks until last June. I took a chance after reading a few of the reviews. Thanks to the previous reviewers! These are the best darn work socks I have tried to date, and I don't think I need to keep looking for a better fit. They fit nice, stay up in the boot all day long from when I put them on until I take them off...they never budge a bit. Not to mention, these socks don't wear out like the other popular brands do. Guys with pencil sized legs can wear almost anything...not the case here. Thanks Dan Post for getting it right!

I recently purchased a pair of cowboy boots and had a hard time keeping my socks from sliding down and bunching up in the toes of my boots when I walked. I purchased these Dan Post boot socks which solved the problem. These socks are very well made and are re-enforced in the arches and tops which prevent any slippage. I can walk in my cowboy boots all day now and my socks stay put.
