I hardly ever wear boots. The first time I put them on, it took 5 min. for these boots to fit perfectly. I wore them my whole work shift. I've repeated this procees several times. These boots are a keeper!

I have always wanted a pair of genuine western boots. And I found myself needing some waterproof workboots ... These Dan Post Alberquerque waterproof western work boots were on sale and came with free shipping. I ordered my usual size (13EE) and they fit comfortably right out of the box. I have been wearing them for two weeks now (through 3 snowstorms) my feet have been dry warm and comfortable. The work sole is the topper. It has shallow cleats that grip slippery surfaces. I am sold on these boots and Sheplers.

The fit is odd in that the boots are both too tight and too loose. They are too tight in the toe and too loose in the instep and heel. I almost sent them back when they arrived because of the tight toe box made them feel too small. The boot size is 11 1/2 M. The length was right. The toe box was quite cramped. The leather is relatively soft. I thought the leather would stretch some and it did. So the tight toe area did give. It still feels a bit tight but not cramped or painful. The other problem is the loose instep. With western boots the instep is where the heel rise is controlled and the security of the boot on your foot is assured. The fit in the instep is so loose that in the saddle this boot wants to fall off at the heel. A tight spur strap helps the problem. This boot shines when you've put your horse up and it's time to wash out the trailer. I used to put on over boots for that chore, not anymore. I've worn these boots in rain, mud, muck and manure. My feet have not gotten wet yet. Would I buy them again? I'm really not sure. They work well for what I bought them for, wearing in wet and muck. They stay on my feet but feel too loose in a way that a size change would not correct and is distracting. They don't fit the way a western boot should fit. Shopping long distance is a pain when returns are necessary. These are the best boots of the three I tried; The other two returned. You have to figure the cost of returns when you figure value. Given more choices without the shipping and returns problem I might have found a better fitting pair that worked.

These boots are great. They delivered what they said

Very nice boots, I have them in black and they're wonderful. The brown boots I recently purchased, however, look NOTHING like the dark, supposedly "distressed" brown without any red that is shown in the photos on Sheplers' website. These photos show no reddish tint. The actual boots are a medium brown that is VERY red. Dan Post calls it "Mid Brown Oily" and it says exactly this on the label on the manufacturer's box, but Sheplers inaccurately calls it simply "Distressed", which IT IS NOT. This is very misleading. I returned them for a refund.

Bought this boot via the internet. Was doubtfull about the size, but Dan Post has a size chart on their website which I printed and used for finding the right size. Worked PERFECT! The boot is excellent and VERY comfortable. Easy slip on and off with a very nice look. Wear it every day and go horse riding with it. Would recommend this boot to anybody looking for a nice looking working boot. Thanks Sheplers for your good service as well

The greatest feature of these boots is that they're waterproof. My feet stay warm and dry regardless of the weather. The height of the heels makes them comfortable on cement floors.

Had not owned slip on work boots for 35 years, and had never bought shoes on-line, so was a bit apprehensive. These boots are true to size (11.5 EE) and slip on real nice. Nice stitching, not too showey. Wanted the heel for riding, but wanted a tread. These boots fit the bill nicely. Now I need to put some miles on them

I did my homework and compared reviews of three workboots of comparable quality, reputation and price. I made a good choice. These boots were comfortable right out of the box. They were just a shade loose on my 8D foot but a good pair of HD work socks made the fit perfect. They slide on and off easily. I couldn't be happier. The fact they are water proof is a big plus and was also part my decision. They appear to be made from high qaulity material and finely crafted. I highly recommend this boot. Delivery was surprisingly promt from USPS.

Really nice quality and fitting boot One of my favorites

I haven't had a chance to wear these boots much yet. The second time I wore them I wore a heavy sock and they were very comfortable. These boots look great. If your not use to a 2 inch heel it takes a little getting use to walking at first but you quickly get use to it.

I wanted a good quality, waterproof, round-toe boot that would look great for casual days at work. the Dan Post has great workmanship and is comfortable.

I am very disappointed with my latest order of Dan Post boots and the changes they made with the leather as well as not revising the description. This would have been my 3rd paid in 10 years. I loved my previous boots. I wore them hard and they took it for a long time, although not my everyday all year, they were everyday parts of the year, depending what work I was doing or wear I was. At any rate, my previous pairs were great and matched the description that Dan Post and Sheplers has for these boots. I did see the other reviews saying that the boots now have more of a reddish look to them , but did not noticed anyone saying they aren't distressed leather any more. I was disappointed in the reddish color, but could have lived with that if the leather was the same as previous pairs. What I received is NOT distressed leather boots. It's what some people call brushed, but I call it more suede. Brushed would be really fine and light, but still looks sturdy and heavy to me and distressed wouldn't be brushed at all, but look like weathered leather. What arrived was neither. It was kind of short bristled suede as far as I could determine and in my mind was not going to look very good after a few scuffs. My previous pairs that were definitely distressed did not show scuffs hardly at all initially. It took a long time to wear the leather to the point that it started to actually look worked and bad. At that point, I started treating it with shoe polish and/or mink oil and it continued to look great. What I got on this pair would have never held up to any of that. The only reason I gave more than 1 star is because they still fit the same as previous boots and the sole did not change at all. I did end up returning them and went to a different make that I am now happy with.

I have been a rancher for over 50 years and these are one of the best if not the best work boot I've ever had. Water proof, good fit good traction and they clean up great.

These boot's fit perfect out of the box. They have a plush lining for comfort and waterproofing. They are light weight, yet stiff enough for good ankle support. They have a tough vibram traction sole. I have recently replaced four pair of boot's, and these are the best of all four.

I have had a few of these work boots and I am very satisfied with the overall boot. They last and are waterproof. Work around horses so are also good riding boots. But I have had a problem with the linings on all of them. Usually they are not trimmed well in the counters area of the boots and rub back of your ankle. The last pair I bought the linings in the toes are not pulled tight and are bubbled as they rub on my big toes bad enough that on both feet they wear a whole in my socks after a hard days use. They will cost me more in socks than the boots cost. Years ago I used to work for a shoe company and these are just not done right, and not inspected as hard to see inside the boot.

I just been wearing them for a few weeks but they seem to be a very good boot I wear them for riding my horses and working on my farm
