Carhartt, you have a winner on your hands. I've owned many pairs of Carhartt work pants (and coats) over the years but I've never been a big fan of the fit. I love everything else just not the high waists and the baggy pantlegs. I needed a new pair of work pants so I went shopping and came across these and they are fantastic. I usually just wear work pants when I'm working in the yard or running through the wood. The are so comfortable and they look so good I'm actually wearing them at work! Need more colors! Also love to see some of the classic styles like the Logger Dungarees in this fit. Keep up the good work

I wear these pants in a mixed industrial/office environment for work, as well as for casual everyday use as a dad and busy homeowner. I am a tall, slim guy, and these pants are my current all time favorite (W33L36). The fit is excellent, and there is some variation between my 3-4 pairs I own. I will wear a pair out in 4-6 months, with being worn 2-3 times a week. The colors tend to fade pretty quickly after several washes, but otherwise I love these pants.

I bought 3 pairs of these to wear on construction sites. They were good at first, but after only 6 months, all 3 pair ripped in the crotch in the exact same place to the point of being unwearable. I expected pants from Carhartt to last longer.

I'm a plumber and I've been wearing these pants for several months straight now and I think they're the best work pants I've found yet. If you're on the skinny side and you like a slimmer fit, then I think these pants are your best option. They're not overly skinny either which for me is the look I want. These are the most slim fitting pants Carhartt sells I believe. Carhartts sizing/fit guide (for all their clothing) is confusing to me and I think it needs a re-work to make it more understandable. Appearance-wise though these pants are an A+. Like I said I've been wearing these pants for several months straight and they've held up quite well. I do a lot of maneuvering and crawling on my hands and knees at work and haven't seen any wear in the fabric or seams. There is some discoloration/fading around the knees, but that's to be expected. I've owned a pair of 5.11 Slim Fit stretch pants and the fabric was much thinner and I blew a hole in the knee very quickly. The material on the Carhartts is much thicker and feels more durable. They're also half the price of the 5.11's. The quality of the stitching is very good as well. These are pretty basic pants as far as numbers of pockets goes, but they're functional enough for me. As other have said, the little zip pocket is pretty useless for me. I use it to carry change but that's about all it's good for (for me). I suppose if you had a really small part that you didn't want to lose you could stuff it in there. These pants would score higher on the functionality rating if they had a hip/thigh pocket for carrying pens or a knife. THESE PANTS RUN LONG ON THE INSEAM. Order a size shorter than you usually do. I'm normally a 32, but if I take my boots off these pants will drag on the ground. Overall I'm very pleased with these pants. They look and fit great, are durable for working in a construction environment and the price is right. The pair of 5.11's I had was more comfortable, but they were twice the price and wore out much quicker. The pocket situation could definitely be improved, and please revise your fit guide Carhartt! I would definitely recommend these pants if you value quality, durability and affordable price. I just bought 2 more pairs!

I ordered three pair and am EXTREMELY disappointed in what I got. One pair was damaged right out of the bag. The other two pair shrunk so bad on the first wash that they are unwearable. I followed the care instructions to the letter and can honestly say I’ve never seen a garment shrink and defiorm so badly. I cannot stress enough how horrible of a product this is. Such a shame, especially given the reliability and quality of other Carhartt products I’ve owned in the past.

I had high hopes for these pants because they "sit slightly below the waist", which I interpreted as a more modern cut--i.e. that they ride a bit lower and the crotch wouldn't hang low. As it turns out, "sits slightly below the waist" means only that the sizing is non-standard. I'm normally a 32 waist in other Carhartts but these 32s fit more like a 33/34. In addition, the crotch isn't any shorter, so, unless I wear these pants above my belly button, looking like a complete fool, I have to pull my crotch up every time I need to squat down. Therefore, these pants are just a nuisance when I'm working. The Carhartt "True Fit" recommended a size even larger than what I got. There aren't stores around me that carry this style, so I was forced to gamble on the internet. I plan on returning and moving on from the Carhartt brand. I want it to work but their styling is too old fashioned and their sizing is unpredictable.

These are the most comfortable work pants I've ever owned. I've been a flooring installer for 30 years so I know a thing or two about the importance of having clothing that allows you to move freely. These pants are fitted and look great but they don't get in the way when I squat or kneel down on the floor to work. In the past I've had to wear loose fitting pants, which I feel look less professional. Thank you Carhartt for filling this void in the world of work pants.

I have been using Carhartt Jeans, preferring the (now discontinued) 1889 Straight Fit jeans. These Rugged Flex Slim Fit Canvas Work pants were recommended by Carhartt customer service, so this was my first time with them. They aren't the Jeans I was looking for, but they fit well and are sufficiently rugged and appropriate to be a worthy alternative.

nitially I was very happy wearing these trousers for the first few weeks during a holiday, they are comfortable and light and you move easily in these. However after wearing them for less than a week as a carpenter only sitting on my knees occasionally the fabric at the knees is wearing out and there is appearing a huge hole already! So I'm very disappointed about the quality of these specific trousers. I've had many Carhartt trousers before and never had a problem with them, these unfortunately don't live up to my expectations. I am afraid I have to throw them away very soon as they go bad so quickly

Best fitting pants yet. These pants are slim just like they say and very comfortable. Carhartt needs to make these in black. Every slim pant that Carhartt makes need to fit this way. They run a little long so make sure you order a size down in the inseam length.

These are some of the most comfortable pants I've owned. I was reluctant to buy something other than 100% cotton, but I'm loving these. There is just enough flex to not but not so much as to seem like stretch pants. They look like normal cotton pants. The one word of caution would be about fit. I tried on a pair at a company store, then ordered three pairs online. One of the three was slightly smaller than the other two. the difference was not huge, but enough to make them a bit uncomfortable. Carhartt is cheerfully taking them back and replacing them with another pair. Overall a good pair of pants if you need something dressier than the standard offering from Carhartt.

NEW VERSION ALERT: My old one was thick material, made in Colombia. New pant as a replacement is made in Nicaragua and the material is thinner. I am extremely disappointed that Carhartt decided to go the way of other companies by cheaping out and charging the price. The fit is the same.

Well, my gf bought me a couple pair of Carhartt pants for Christmas and this happened to be one of the pair she got, in the dark cedar color. first off, these are great pants, the color is the same in person, plus they feel great and I can tell they'll be a good, tough pair of pants wearing out and about. the only problem I found with them is the leg length.. I'm about a 32 or 33 in waist size and get a 32" in leg length. so, the pants run a little long, but it's not too bad to the point of exchanging them. I'm gonna keep them and wear them still, but I learned a lesson from now on that if I get any Carhartt pants, they will be in 30" leg length instead of 32". that is all.

Fit is terrible. Leg opens up below the knee like MC Hammer. Material is noticeable thinner and scratchier than the straight fit pant that no longer exists. Will never wear again. Hate them.

Fit is close to true. Would be nice if the fifth pocket was on the leg for a cell phone. Zippered pocket above front pocket is not useful.

MAKE THEM IN BLACK PLEASE!!! These are some of my favorite Carhartt pants. Great modern fit. Love the flex, without looking to synthetic. The addition of the zipper inner pocket on the left hand side is wonderful for storing small items. I’m having a hard time trying to think of anything I dislike about these pants. Besides having Carhartt offer them in black or other dark colors.

These WERE my favorite pants. I have now ordered 8 pairs trying to replace my worn out pairs. Same size, bigger, smaller... Nothing works. "slim" fit and they are falling off of me. Carhartts dropped the ball and lost my business. Not one size tag is accurate. Sad to see for such a well known name. Do better.

I bought these for my fiancé and they just have not lasted. He wears his clothes pretty hard, but he has some other pants that have lasted YEARS. I bought these mid January and it’s not May and there are holes and stains. I think they would be good if you just need panda for light wear.

I bought 1 pair of these pants and they were such a nice fit, I bought more in the other 2 colors. They're a great pant, the stretchy fabric has prevented them from tearing. As a tall guy who likes fitted clothing, I typically have issues with tearing in the crotch of my pants. After about 2 years in these, all 3 pants are holding up great!

I work on a golf course and own three pairs of these pants. What makes these pants so good is the look...finally a Carhartt pant that is offered in a straight fit. This fit offers me plenty of room to work in yet is clean and "slim" fitting enough to walk in and out of the clubhouse without looking sloppy or baggy. I can literally walk off the course and straight into a meeting with these pants. The shadow colour is going on its third summer and has only slightly faded from the sun and multiple washes...nothing outside the normal. Olive color would be awesome....they do run long so size down from your normal inseam.

Needed hunting pants slim enough to fit inside chaps and muck boots, fitted but not skinny, and most important not too heavy for the North Carolina heat. These did good, especially after shrinking some in the dryer. Quality seems to be OK. Not really a fan of the zippered side pocket, would really prefer the standard Carhartt lower thigh pocket. Will buy again. Need a dark brown color to add to the lineup.

I bought three pairs of these a few years ago. Love 'em. Wear them all the time. Decided to add pair #4 to the line-up. Big mistake The material is about 50% thinner and the fit is 100% wrong = Overall quality 150% worse Oh, and the price went UP!

I like the fact that they fit well but not too tight. I’m 6’4 230 lbs and I wear a 34/36. They’re extremely durable and I beat the hell out of these things on a daily basis. My only suggestion to Carhartt is to make more colors because I will buy all of them.

Got these for my husband and he loves them- they are a more fitted pant- perfect for a more formal look (he wears them to work) but still the sturdy Carhartt quality that both of us love. He wears through his dress slacks so fast but needed something that was still appropriate for business casual office environment. These fit the bill for him perfectly!

I love these pants but have some issues with them. I'm 5'11 155lb and wear a 32W30L which fits great. The material is comfortable and non-restricting. However, I rotate between the 3 different colors I have for work everyday (landscaping & carpentry) and cannot get a pair to last a year. They usually rip in the knees and on the thigh by the front pockets first. They also have a small zipper pocket that I've never once used and feels completely unnecessary. I would much prefer a hammer loop or side pocket. Maybe I'm asking too much for a pant that is comfortable and longer lasting, but I hope I'm not.

I want to like these. I'm 5'9, 155lb. Worn lots of carhartt pants over the years. Usually, a 32x30 will do me right...but the length on these pants is generous to say the least. The pair I got was quite a bit longer than usual. I'll hem them, and wear them but a bit frustrating. 1st world problem, however!

They fit perfect! I didn't buy these for heavy work so I'm glad they are not thick canvas type material and don't have cargo style extra pockets, nor loop to hang a hammer. I got black and getting a lot of use out of them! I'll probably buy another pair of the lighter color.

These are great. I own a couple if pairs and love everything but the zipper pocket. Multiple layers of pockets on slim fit pants just makes things feel bunched up. Add a zipper that increases the rigidity of the pocket area and it just gets annoying. What could possibly go in that pocket that would be comfortable sitting right where your leg creases? A single key or a credit card? No thanks. A tiny pack of gum? Maybe, but it's gonna get mashed for sure. Save the 15 cents in production cost by ditching the zipper and extra fabric used to create that zipper pocket and you have an excellent pair of slim work pants pants: well fitted, durable, flexible, high enough rise to actually sit at your hips. Use the cash saved by losing the zip pocket to throw in a crotch gusset and they'd be absolutely perfect.

Nice fit, but that silly zippered left pocket is a worthless pain. All it does is add extra fabric to bunch up. It’s too small to be of any worth, unless you have a late 90s cell phone. And then you can’t sit down with the cell phone or pocket knife there without trying to adjust it, then everyone in the restaurant thinks you have a squirrel in your pants. The darts above and below the knees are a nice touch; no more pulling when I’m on my knees working on the floor.

Fortunately other reviewers mentioned the sizing weirdness, so I ordered 1 inch larger in the waist, and 1 inch shorter in the inseam than my other pants. For example, I usually wear a 31 x 32 in Levis, so I ordered a 32 x 30 from Carhartt and they fit just right. The slim fit is good, they look like normal pants instead of baggy old man work pants.

I'm 5'10, 175 lbs and these pants fit and feel great. Slim enough to not be overly loose in the thighs, but still enough room in the calf to not print while wearing boots. I would give them 5 stars if they would offer these in more than 2 colors. The store had several navy, black, and moss options, but only offered them in the relaxed pants that fit like parachute pants on me.

I ordered these by mistake thinking I was getting another heavier style. I opened the package and removed all the tags before I realized they were wrong...my fault. Needless to say these Pants STILL are great. Only 2 complaints are 1. The pants are very lightweight (which will be fine for summer, but winter they are a little lacking. and 2. The little zipper hidden pocket. I prefer a regular coin pocket but will get used to this. I know that these pants will last.

These pants are great. I work at a food company on a cold dock that is 50 degrees or below. These Rigbys are thicker than my previous pairs of Carhartts. I love them. Stretch where needed and fit great. However. I am 6’ and I originally ordered a 32x32 and they definitely fit like a 34 length. So I ordered a second pair 32x30 and the fit is perfect. I still wear both pair, I just roll the 32 length a little. I wish these came in a brown, I would order two more pair.

First time buyer for this particular item. They are great for someone like me that has a slim body build. Kind of wish the back pockets were hidden (like the discontinued 10095-253 that I loved so well), but I like the fifth pocket (which took me a few minutes to find, however really neat since I found it). PS... Also like a waist that doesn't stretch, but fits.

I work as a machinist so I needed pants that were tough, look ok with oil stains and not baggy. These turned out quite nicely. I own four pairs and Im very satisfied with how they wear in, and how they fit. Its especially hard for me to find good work pants that fit my small frame and i couldnt be more impressed. I would certainly appreciate more styles and colors of pants in this fit.

Really awesome fit. I’ve been waiting for some Carhartt pants that weren’t baggy. I love the way they feel. I will say I don’t like the pockets but they still get 5 stars. I work in construction so I wish the pockets were geared towards work.

I couldn't be happier with my pants purchase. I'm 6'7" and have a hard time finding pants for my long legs. These pants are perfect. I don't like baggy pants that make me look like a 90's rapper, and these pants are the opposite. They fit my long skinny legs, with out being too slim. The price is right too. Good job Carhartt.

I had to order these because I went to several stores and could not find a 38 waist, 36 inseam to try on. I wear pull on work boots and the tapered leg was way to tight to fit over my boots.

Pants fit well and are very comfortable. I am not sure of the value of the zippered pocket in the opening of the left pocket. It certainly will not hold any cellphone made today. I suppose I could stash a license and a credit card and maybe some cash in it.

These pants are great. Please do not discontinue them. Great fit (not overly baggy ) but not a skinny fit by any means. Roomy enough to move freely and the fabric weight is thick enough to wear well but not overly thick. Only wish there were more colors and size availability.

Exactly what I have been looking for from carhartt! Love the slimmer fitting style. I own multiple pair of both colors, wear everyday for work, dinner, hunting, heck even church! Only complaint is I purchased a pair that weren’t even close to fitting like the rest did. Inconsistencie shouldn’t happen from carhartt.

The pants fit ok a little loose in the knee area.On other 5 pocket pants like relaxed fit you have a cell phone pocket. These have a tiny zip pocket that is use less in my opinion. I think it is a dumb design.I am returning them I can go find less expensive pants. Carhartt always had the cell phone pocket. I have bought a few pair lately that do not.

I'll start off by saying I LOVE THESE PANTS!!!!!! So nice to have some nice casual pants that are durable and also stretch. I hope these will be around for a long time. My low rating was so this will hopefully be seen. I bought these flex fit pants when they hit the shelf and the size I bought was 38wx30L. However when I came back to buy more, all of the 30 length pants were as long as 32-33" long and there were no shorter sizes under a 30" length. I really needed these for a trip so I got them and had to bring them somewhere to be hemmed. Please fix this if it hasn't already. Love the product, I just think something in manufacturing is off. Thank you again for serving the working man. "Carhartt....for life."(Which I think is a great tag line/pun for y'all to consider.)

I’m a welding inspector for a train manufacturer and they give me the flexibility that I need to preform my duties and have the feel of durability to last. They give I nice fit look I’m slender built and don’t like those bulky construction pants.

I own 7 other carhartt pants and 100% Hands down, these were my favorite par of carhartts unfortunately they ripped in the seat after only 10months and for “durable work pants” that can’t make it a year, said enough for me. Hope you have a different experience with carhartt then I did.

Not sure who these are made for, but if you do any sort of exercise or working out these are like skinny jeans. Even though the waist was the correct size these were skin tight everywhere else.

Great pair of pants, don’t look baggy with the straight fit but you also have enough room to move around without restriction. Seem very durable so far, similar thickness to typical jeans. Sizing was a bit unusual, got 2” larger on the waist and 2” shorter in the length compared to most other pants I own (American Eagle for example)

I'm trying to move away from expensive designer khakis and opted for these. They are perfect for casual use and casual wear. My only gripes are there's an odd bunch of stitching that surrounds the sides of the knees and the sewn-on back pockets. These two features eliminate the possibility to wear these at nice dinner parties or at a nice restaurant. Ideally, I'd prefer durable pants that I can take from work to out on the the town.

Great pants! Light weight, just stretchy enough, and cheap. Not to skinny but definitely a slim straight fit. Knees are great and don't bind up. Zipper pocket a little useless for me not in the way either.

I purchased the exact same pants at an outlet store in Portland, OR prior to purchasing two more pairs online, expecting to receive the same item I was a little disappointed that the fabric seems to be slightly different. The original pair were manufactured in Columbia while the two new pairs were manufactured in Nicaragua, which likely explains the discrepancy. The fabric used by the Columbian manufacturer appears to be heavier and of superior quality.

Great pants. Probably the best fitting (and looking) carhartts I’ve owned, the other styles are way too baggy. Wore them several times a week for a couple months straight and they’re still going strong. Pretty impressed with the durability of the fabric for being more of a midweight material. Only real wear and tear they are showing is at specific stress points due to the work I do in them. Only criticism:: the zipper pocket is redundant and adds material where it’s not needed, give us a thigh pocket or two please. And also: PLEASE MAKE THESE IN A DOUBLE FRONT OPTION. Seeing as the double front duck straight fit pants are discontinued, these would be a great replacement. I really love having work pants that fit and dont look like they’re five sizes too big. Literally just copy the relaxed fit double front rigbys but in this style/cut. Hopefully this would solve the pocket issue too. I’d literally buy 5 pairs the first day they went on sale.

Love these pants. My sons are 18 and 21 and both work in construction. Normally outside of work they wear slim fit or skinny jeans because they are both 6ft tall and approx 145lb, 30" waist. These straight fit pants are a great fit for a work pant. Much slimmer than traditional Carhartt through the leg but still able to fit over a work boot. Both my boys love them!

I have to agree with a couple of the reviews stating that the pants seem to vary from pair to pair. I bought two pair - same size and color from Carhartt retail store. I tried a pair on in store, and after I liked the fit, grabbed another. When I got home I put the second pair I got on and they were slightly, but noticeably looser. They actually feel different to the touch as well. The differences are small but I would prefer they were both the same feel and definitely feel like the fit should be the same. It's not enough of a problem for me to go through the hasslle of returning and trying on every pair in the store to get the same fit, but a heads up for anyone that is going to get more than one pair - you might want to avoid assuming one will fit exactly like another. Having said that, love the straight fit and a basic pant that isn't loaded with technical features. Hope the keep making these and get some tighter control on fabric supply and sizing.

I'm 5'11 205 lbs. I got 38x32 cus I accounted that they would shrink when I wash them. They did shrink a little bit and I'm glad I got them a little bigger. Plus I don't want them that tight, I like the slim taper it's wide enough to go over bulky work boots but if you wear the pants with with regular sneakers , pants probably look like regular straight legs.

The fit is pretty good, maybe a bit slimmer than expected but I like them. The color faded fast though, like noticeably lighter after maybe 3 washes. Seem to be holding up well after about 8 months of wear, but I'm dissapointed about the color fading.

I had first gotten this pant for work, something with a little more stretch and comfort for all the walking, jumping, crawling, etc. These have now become my go-to pant for everything in all 3 colors. An excellent purchase that will not be regretted.

These pants are awesome! For so long I’ve been looking for fitting/tapered work pants with flexible fabric, and luckily I found these. They are comfortable, and I will continue to buy them for work or casual wear. The only problem, the 30 inch inseam fits like a 31 or 32 inch. The waist size is correct, but the legs are too long. Thanks, Carhartt, for creating great pants! Please adjust the length of the inseam.

The straight fit Carhartt offers doesn’t have an out-of-style look to it, so I usually turn to it when I’m buying pants. Great pants, good weight for cooler environments (low 60s or colder), good stretch and cut well for work or around town. Two issues: 1. the small zipper pocket inside the left hand pocket is useless. It’s to small for a wallet, phone, passport and the zipper design is poor so the fabric bunches up. Either remove the zipper pocket all together or remove the extra fabric and make the zipper pocket big enough for a wallet or passport. 2. Make a “summer weight” version of the pant and keep the same cut. I’m 5’11”, 190lbs, athletic and wear a 34 waist, 30 inseam.

Comfortable and strong. The Flex fit is AWESOME! However the sizing in the waist runs small and the length runs very large. I normally wear a 36or38x30. I had to get these in a 40x30 and they are still way too long, like 5" too long. Otherwise great quality and comfortable with enough stretch for comfort but not overly so. Would buy again.

They’re great … one caution though … they shrink when washed. I normally wear 34w by 32l; order 36w by 34l to allow for shrinkage. If there was a 35w for these guys, that would work also.

I purchased this same pair about a year ago and they fit perfect, I then ordered 4 more pair only to find that the same size and fit has suddenly increased? The new pants are HUGE compared to my older ones. I love Carhartt but not impressed. I will be returning the 4 new pair and ordering a smaller size.

I wish people would really consider the right tool for the job when they give reviews. These pants are great. I love them. But! will I wear them when I am on my knees all day in the dirt or floors? no. Wrong tool. But will I wear them when I am running my tractor or dump truck all day? Absolutely. Will I wear these to make first impressions? 100% I'm not saying they are weak or poorly made, but they are not duck and they are not double knee: These are 98% cotton. I spent all day today in my truck meeting with clients and looking a potential jobs. Total comfort all day in or out of the truck. I look professional, clean and tidy because these pants fit great. I have a slim build (5'10/150lbs) and the straight cut is my go-to. If your a big build, you probably shouldnt be wearing a staight cut. ...There is reason for the choice there. I wear 8" Danner boots and the pants fit nicely over them. The little stash pocket on the left side is subtle and great for equipment keys, buisness cards, lighters and so on. The zipper is YKK, of course. I bought mine in 31x32 and will be buying at least another pair in another color. Like all the other gear, these are triple stitched and perfectly cut. All of this said, when it comes time do get down and dirty, I know I can do it in these pants, but I cannot reasonably expect a similar life expectancy as some of the sturdier, less comfortable pants, but that's the trade-off isn't it? I guess thats why I have other Carhartts to choose from for the days I'm inside my Bobcat (for clarification, I will wear these when I am running the machine, but would choose to switch into some beaters for working under the cab), greasing equipment, installing irrigation and so on.

After purchasing the Washed Twill Dungaree, I wanted something with more articulation and these were exactly what I wanted. Articulation around the knees help with mirroring your movements. Have nice weight to them; not to light and not to heavy. I like the hidden stash pocket and the side pockets are just rightly, deep enough without worrying items might fall out. I like the fact the pants also tapers - fit is similar to the B18 Traditional Fit Jeans.? But Carhartt's manufacturing, again fell flat. On the first purchase, I bought the Shadow and Dark Khaki colour? and both fits were way off. Shadow was slightly slimmer overall, whereas the Dark Khaki, the waist measured a size 34"and inseam was near 35". I'm a 33x32, ectomorph/mesomorph build. I kept one colour, cause shipping and return shipping is expensive; to and from Canada. I don't know how often you do quality control, but this is ridiculous. Carhartt's been making "quality workwear since 1889", but can't get fit and size right.

Great Look and Feel. Durability to be seen.

I'm really glad to see Carhartt offering a more modern fit pant. I love the quality and ruggedness of the brand, but the relaxed and traditional fit pants are just too baggy on me. I'm a slim guy (5'9 155lbs) and these are exactly how I like my pants to fit. Hope they keep these around and possibly offer the straight fit in some of their heavier weight, duck canvas pants. Great pants. The waist runs about a size smaller than any other pants I've worn but that's true to all Carhartt pants. Only thing I don't like is the goofy zipper pocket on the left side.

I bought my first pair when it was rugged flex rigby tapered straight leg. The name changed on the rigby’s but the cut just doesn’t feel the same. They feel different from the waist down a lot more loose not as tapered.

I've owned 4 or 5 pairs of these. They looks great and fit me so well. I am 6'0", 165lbs, athletic build. They are slim enough to look great but not so tight that I can't be active in them. I wear them as my nice pants until they get beat up, then they become work pants and I order a new pair to become my new town pants. I love the zippered pocket. Wish they had a cell phone pocket.

I purchased the same pants a year ago, same style and color. The weight of the material was much thicker. These are thinner as in 'cheaper' made. I counted on the thickness of the material to make the pants last longer. Thinner weight material means cheaper. I turned in a review and of course got zero response

I made the mistake of shopping online without trying a pair on first. As I could have predicted, they didn't fit. I normally wear a 30x30. The length was fine, but the waist was WAY too tight. Since they are slightly stretchy I know they'll loosen up while wearing them, but with every wash they'll be tight again. I'm going to try a 31x30 as well as a 32x30. I'm returning mine, and holding off on a new pair until I try them on.

I use these around the house almost every day. They fit well, very durable, and are a good choice in warmer weather. I wear them in winter also with thermals underneath. I used the dark khaki for a recent successful deer hunt and they held up well and the color blended in perfectly. They were light enough for the long mountain hikes at high elevation. I also use them for hiking. For really cold weather i would recommend the double front type. These are excellent multi use pants with the nice straight fit. I like these so much i bought a second pair in the grey.

Good pair of pants, but not slim fitting. These might fit more snugly than most Carharrt pants, but they’re still pretty baggy from the knee down.

I’ve been looking for some new work pants for awhile now and finally pulled the trigger on these bad boys. I love them and wish I started wearing them sooner. They feel lightweight but you are protected by the rigby material. There really is some flex to them as well, without feeling constrained. I would highly recommend these to anyone working on a job site.

The 32 length was to long. I’ve bought pants from you for a long time, always wear 32. You don’t have 31’s. Only 30. I’ve not worn 30’s since I was 12 years old. These are wearable but going to shop when time to replace these. The 32 where about 3 inches to long

These are my favorite work pants now! I'm a contractor in the Northeast. I bought one pair of these in November. I'm 5'6" and 170lbs. These pants don't sag (no plumber crack!) even with a toollbelt on! I loved them enough, that I had my wife to get me two more pairs for Christmas! You won't go wrong.

By far betting fitting than regular fit. I am 6’1” 200lbs and the regular fit is like parachute pants. These fit like a REAL pant. A little tight in the seat but legs are great. Waist is true to size.

My husband is enjoying the fit. One thing he isn’t a fan of is the side zipper in the pocket. When sitting, due to the seaming, it’s noticeable and slightly irritating. But, the straight fit is flattering and will last forever.

I have a 32" inseam. These trousers are CRAZY long, like 34-36". This causes them drag the ground, have a saggy crotch, and the knee stitching to be at shin-level. Great quality but would order at least 2" (possibly 4") shorter than your actual measurements.

Great pants, nice material. Dark gray color is nice. After reading many reviews I was able to choose the correct size. I wear 34x34 in all my pants, but many reviews said these run large. 33x32 fit perfect. So size down a bit.

With my latest order I have ordered a size smaller to see if that helps. Out of the six pairs that I own, I think half of them fit correctly while the other half are VERY baggy. But when they fit correctly, I love them.

Great pants. Only problem is that the length is way off. Waist fits as advertised. Length is a lot longer then normal. I buy 30" length and it like 4-5" longer then normal clothes. And they don't make anything shorter that I have found.

Terrible fit. I'm typically a 34x32 in a slim fit and these were too big in the waist, much too tight in the thigh, too loose in the anke for a supposed taper. They were also too long and I'm 6'1". Very disappointed.

I love the straight, more "modern" fit. I wear these in the office for business casual. I'd like to see more colors available - especially black. Also, the cell phone pocket available on the other Rigbys would work well with this particular fit. I'm not sure what I'd use the "hidden" pocket for, but it looks cool!

Pants look great but not made to last. Bought a pair 4 months ago and already tore in the crotch area and don't even use them heavy. I've had cheaper jeans last me much longer. For the price they should last much longer and be much more durable. Also not true to size,recommend getting a size or two bigger than what you really are.

Sturdy material. Good fit for my tall slim sons work pants. He is very pleased with these. Definitely works for the slim guy. Pretty much true to size or a little on small size. Not really loose through the seat or thigh. We purchased 32/34 and my son is 6’2” and a very fit 170lbs.

#1 Husband loves Carhardtt pants, however... they need to make them like they used to initially. They have changed the sewing company and are not the same fit as when he purchased a few pairs 5 years ago. #2 Love the color black. Please keep black; also develop some newer shades rather than the same old; beige, burgundy, grey. What's wrong with an green/aqua, light blue, stone? #3 Make a 35" waist. 34"waist is too small, 36" waist too big

I haven't purchased new Carhartts in years, owing in part to the durability of what I already had but more because the fit is so sloppy and unfashionable. Outside of the shop or off my property, I have been wearing 5-pocket pants that cost two to three times what Carharrts cost. I purchased a pair of these (seconds) on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. The fit is almost perfect for my somewhat athletic build, they fit over every pair of boots I own, and look almost as good as the high dollar pants I had become accustomed to. My concern is the diminishing choice of colors. Are these on their way out?

The only improvement would be to increase the size of the zippered pocket and lose the zipper or add on leg pocket that holds a cell phone. The comfort is perfect as is the fit. The pockets could be improved.

These pants are great. The flex makes them unbelievably comfortable. They have a more modern fit and are less baggy like other Carhartt work pants. If the modern fit thing doesn't appeal to you the comfortableness should. I've only had these about 6 months so I can't give an in-depth review of the durability. The only thing that wasn't absolutely perfect about these pants is that they are a tad long. The duck material pants always shrink on me so I get a size up in length when buying Carhartt. So I'm used to my pants long but these were a bit longer than normal. So if too long bothers you or you don't want to roll them up I'd keep that in mind if ordering. I highly recommend these pants.

I own a few Rugged Flex Rigby 5-Pocket pants, 34 X 32 all true to size. These Straight Fit are Too Small in the waist and Too Long in Length, more like 32 X 34, very Weird. Also the material is softer and lighter than others in the Rugged flex rigby line.

I wanted a nice pair of work pants that were actually fitted/slim instead of a big baggy fit and these hit the mark! The length of the pants are a little long compared to my other pants; I chose 32" inseam on these compared to 34" on my other pairs of pants. The zippered pocket is nice for a knife or other small item like chapstick. Crotch is a little long, but helps you move around more, and doesn't really pinch you. Also, I am able to wear my western boots with these easily, and doesn't look awkward for showing the shaft of the boot underneath.

Carhartt needs a true low rise work pant

I will not be buying any pants from Carhartt and just sticking with their jackets. I wanted to purchase the 5 pocket canvas work pants, as they now come in a slim fit. What they need to add to the sizing lineup though is a true low waste canvas work pant that fits like their low rise jeans, with only a 7"-8" waist. I do not like the mid to high rise pants, and the ones that claim to be low rise are still quite a high rise such as the Ariat M7 which I am currently wearing since it's as close as I can find, and denim wears too fast for my use. As soon as Carhartt can make a canvas work pant with a true low rise waist, I will switch over 100% of my pants to them.

The only problem I have with Carhartt is that there sizes aren't the same across all styles. It's a pain in the neck having to order 2 different sizes to make sure I receive the correct size good thing the quality of there product is so much better than others.

I bought these pants with help of the staff at the Detroit flagship store. I began to notice the relaxed fit had a new looser fit in the leg and I was unhappy with the new fit. The staff at the store led me to the straight leg/straight fit and I immediately liked the slimmer line and fit of the leg and pant opening. My only complaint is that the cell phone pocket on the thigh was replaced be a “secret” zipper pocket in the left front hand pocket. Makes the pocket feel a little bulky and full when not in use. Other than that the fit and look is great. Would recommend.

If you're thinking that the size you have ordered is the same as what you ordered before it's not. I ordered the same size that I ordered last year, definitely not the same fit. This year they are bigger than last year. If you normally wear a 34 waist I would order a 32 if you want them to fit. They don't fit and there are 1/2 the belt loops now too. Pretty disappointing!!

Right pant leg in the knee area came with a tiny tear .5 inches wide. The tear was so clean it was as if it was cut by a box cutter. (I rip open packages by hand, not cutting tools). The seams on the inner left pant leg came apart from the crotch down to the knee after a single wash.... Really bummed that I cant even reorder these pants cause they ran out of my size within a week of restocking online... I love you guys and I own a bunch of your duck canvas pants and dungarees but please perform better quality control.

Ordered a 34x32, but these fit more like a 32x34. The waist fit “ok” but they were so tight over my butt that it pulled the crotch too tight. The length was laughably long. The zipper pocket inside the left front pocket is pointless and in the way. If you have an athletic build like myself, best to stay away from these. Hard to find clothes as a tradesman that fit right if you’re in good shape.

These pants look great and the lighter weight Rigby Flex fabric is perfect for warmer temps without sacrificing on durability. The slimmer straight fit is a huge plus. The knees are articulated which combined with the stretch fabric provide plenty of flexibility and room to move. These can be dressed up for the office and look great over a pair of cowboy boots. The Shadow color looks great, but I do wish Carhartt would start making more pants in Navy. There's Navy Rigby Flex shorts, so I know it's possible. Other than that, the only other thing I might comment on is the left zippered security pocket. Either get rid of it altogether or swap for the typical cell phone pocket and these things are perfect!

It's my fault for not reading the washing instructions. I've owned various work pants from different manufacturers for 25 years and always thrown them into a warm water wash with like colors. These pants require cold water washing and immediately shrank after 1 wash to the point where I can't wear them.

Great fit, great material, but does have some flaws. I have two pairs of these pants and one has a hole in the crotch and both have holes in the pant legs. Any slightly sharp material will poke through the pants easily. Kinda wish they were a bit more durable for how much I paid.

I love the look, fit, and durability of these pants. I have worn a couple pairs of them all fall and winter doing brush-clearing and chainsaw work and they have held up super well. They are also really comfortable. I'm an average-to-skinny built guy but have bigger glutes and thighs, and I love that I never really have to worry about plumber's crack while bending over constantly at work. And the straight fit of the pants is nice enough looking that I might consider wearing them as casual street clothes too, if I had a clean pair of them... Carhartt should make more colors so that I buy more of these pants!

The fabric is not as good as previous pants from Carhartt. It comes out of the dryer very wrinkled in comparison to identical product that was bought locally a few months ago. I like the cut and the overall tailoring.

I found these Carhartts after many years of wearing Carhartts that were too baggy and loose. These ones actually fit well, they are a slim fit that feels right and still lets you move your body to work, thanks to how they are cut and that there is a little stretch in the material. Also the weight of the fabric is great, doesn't rip as easily as the very light weight pants, but still not too heavy for outdoor work in summer. After buying the first pair I bought two more and they're my go to pants to work on a farm.

5th pocket is zippered running an awkward point of the hip flex of the pants. An augmentation no one was asking for. 30/31 size, groin/hip design is taller than the old style, so you have to wear them high wasted or feel like you are sagging and have cuffs slightly low/bunched. Wildly bad redesign.

I’ve had the gray version of these pants for over a year and decided to get the other two colors. I noticed that the cut is different. They don’t fit me as well, even though I ordered the same fit. The black ones are especially different; the cut at the bottom is wider and the crotch seems lower. I’m a bit disappointed.

I believe these are the slimmest style of pants carhartt has to offer and I love them. They are not thick what so ever so but I work in a indoor warehouse and the fill my needs perfectly. One down fall is I wish they had the cellphone pocket.

Ordered two pairs of these pants at the same time, Black and Tan. The Tan pair of pants fit nice and have a decent taper, great for wearing Blundstone boots. The Black pair on the other hand, were not tapered at all… they are just a straight cut, and loose fitting. How does that happen?

Unfortunately-These pants have been changed. I have several pairs-but recently have been dropping in size. 33/30 are all made in Columbia. 32/30 also made in Columbia. 31/30 show up and they are NOT the same fabric-made in Nicaragua-slightly lighter in weight-they are also missing two belt loops on the back. The stitching-inside the back pockets is rough-rough enough to wear on the skin on the tops of the my fingers going in an out of the back pockets all day. The "Made in Nicaragua" variety also don't wash down as soft (we don't add anything to our laundry). Also-to my surprise the cut is slightly different. They are a little longer in the seat-and straighter/wider in the leg-my 32/30s appear "skinnier" in the leg despite the waist being an inch larger than the 31s. I suppose I will stick with the 32s, maybe they are new old stock? Or attempt a 30 and see where they are made... Baring that... unless enough people complain... looks like the end of an era for the best pant around (for me)... and I'll have to start looking elsewhere. Bummer.

Love the fit of these pants. I'm partial to a higher rise that sits on my waist, keeps things covered when bending or squatting. Also prefer a smaller leg opening, tapered, but still plenty of room in thigh. Highly recommend.

The 5 pocket straight fit looked and felt great on the legs but the sits below waist feature felt like they were about to fall off my skinny rear every time I tried to wear them regardless of belt tension. I gave them a good go but they didn’t work for me. My next Carhartt pants will come from a retail store where I can try them on before buying.

I like the pants so far. I would caution anyone who is not familiar with carhartt sizing to double check the fit guide. I where the same size jeans for several brands and this is the first one ever that didn’t come close to fitting. After some expensive shipping back and forth I got the right size and am happy with the pants.

Great pants that have a nice fit while still maintaining mobility. The zipper on the security pocket in the left front pocket is stiff and I don't think the extra pocket is necessary. The material attracts a lot of lint which is very obvious with the black pants, but overall I'm happy with these and hope they last many years.

Love these pants - I was skeptical at first as the brand has never fit me well - doesn’t matter what I buy they are either to small on the waste and too big in the legs/length or the opposite and it’s always been very frustrating. Well these - PERFECT! I mean I absolutely love them and will continue to purchase them. I have a slim fit with a slim waste and only 30 length and they are perfect. Not to slim, but not too loose either. They “fit” well and give me movability.

Fairly decent pants. They’re comfortable and fit me well (5’11 165lbs, thin build). The back pockets started to wear from my wallet after only wearing them twice! Mind you.. my wallet is not that thick. They also come out of the dryer wrinkly as all get out every time. For these two gripes I give them a 3/5. Would have expected a bit better quality given the name on the pants.

Finally some slimmer fitting work pants! Sizing is spot on and the slimmer legs are nice to not have all that extra material to get caught on things, and the still fit over boots. The nice thing about slimmer fitting pants is that you can size up to get the fit you want, you can’t do that if the waist is tight and legs are baggy. The material is a nice improvement over the original rugby dungarees. They seem light enough for warmer weather but thick enough for colder weather., seems like a nice medium weight canvas. Nice deep pockets with a small zippered hidden pocket on the left. I would say these sit right on the waist, not low rise, which is nice under a tool belt. The only things I would change is that they are a little long; I wish they had a cellphone pocket on the leg; the back pockets sit a little high; and I wish they came in green!!! Fantastic pants! The stretch gives you unhindered movement! Please make them in green!

These are some great fitting pants. The only issue I noticed with them is that the length was about a size too big. I have worn a 32 length for several years and when I tried it on it fit like a 34. I dropped down to a 30 length and it was perfect.

Got my pair of the new Rugged Flex Rigby pants in yesterday, so this review cannot speak to durability yet. With that being said, wow are these comfortable. These are by FAR the most comfortable pants I have ever worn. The stretch they allow provides for excellent range of mobility without being constricting in sensitive regions like some of the traditional Carhartt pants can be at times. These pants are perfect for any occasion; hiking, work, or casual wear out or in the office. I plan to buy many more. FYI, the khaki is darker, slightly more yellow, than that of the picture, but is perfect.

The pants are not what the website describes. Absolutely do not purchase these pants. There are no thigh pockets, the website says “formerly known as Rigby pants”. You will receive Rigby pants as I did. It’s on the tag “Rigby Pants”. Carhartt, not everyone wants cardboard loose or relaxed pants that look like trash bags on your legs. There are thousands of people that would like a Straight Fit, comfortable pants, with THIGH pockets. How many people have to complain about sizing?

What can I say! Love these pants. The Rugged Flex fabric weight is light and comfortable. The Straight Traditional Fit s exactly what I am looking for after loosing 70 lbs. in the last 10 months. I keep my "flip phone" in the zippered pocket at the left front pocket opening. This is unlike any of my other pants, and will take a little getting used to, - I may love it too.

Great design and modern fit. Only downside they're a bit longer than what I'm accustomed to (Levi's). I wear 34-36/30 in pants. I ordered 36/30 in the slim fit style. They fit around the waist but length was two inches too long.

I'm tall and skinny, and find that baggy clothes just make me look skinnier, so I prefer slimmer fit clothing that I can still move in. These pants have a great cut and I like the weight of the fabric. The gray color looks nice, but I really wish they came in "Carhartt Brown". I'm 6'4" tall and 200 lbs, the size 33x36 fits me well, but the waist is a touch too big. I also purchased a pair of the straight slim stretch jeans in the same size and the waist fits perfectly without a belt. . . These pants are made well, they should last a decent amount of time compared to outdoor clothing that costs twice as much. I have climbed a few times in them with no issues, but I don't believe they would last nearly as long as a pair of "old school" carhartts, but they are much lighter weight material which will be nice in the summer.

I ordered the same model number straight leg pant 2 years ago and this new order is not made with the same features. The earlier version had heavier fabric and the leg tapered below the knee to present a trim, neater appearance. These new pants feel so lightweight that the material does not provide warmth in the cold and the bottom of the pant does not taper and is cut so wide that I could slide these pants over my shoes. Carhartt makes a good product but, judging from my past order, these changes are not for the better and not what I expected for this model number.

I love Carharrt. However, it seems like everytime I buy a pair of pants online the length is different from the previous I am 6'2". I have a pair with a 32" inseam that do not go past my ankles. So, I ordered this pair with a 34" inseam and they extend past my toes. Kinda odd, but other than that the pants are awesome just wish i could wear them.

I just purchased my third pair of Rugged Flex Rigby Pants. The first two pair (size: 38"x 30") fit perfectly and are very comfortable. This last pair fits fits my waist just like the other two pairs, but the 30" length drags on the ground! The two first pair measure 29" long and this last pair measures 31 1/2"! Guess I have to roll up the cuffs for now and never forget to try on Carhatt pants before I leave the store.

My new favorite casual pant! They are soft, durable, comfortable, and fit well. By measurement, I have a 35" waist. I'm 6'1# tall, 175#. In your pants (like most other brands) a 33" waist 32" length fits me perfectly. I guess it's supposed to make me feel thinner? It's all good.

I will say they do shrink some after the first was and dry, so if you were to try them on before purchase and they feel long or loose, you may not want to size down. They are wearing in the knees faster than my previous Carhartt pants, but are very comfortable. I would certainly recommend to anyone, just be mindful of longevity in the work you will use them for.

Overall poor quality and fit for these pants. The back pockets are so shallow nothing fits securely in them. The inseam is twisted causing the seam to pull towards the front of the pant leg.

Just received so cannot assess durability. Ordered inseam 30", inseam is closer to 31 and 1/2". Fabric is thin, which is good on cool days but may not be on cold days.

Had these pants a year and they're the best! Seriously, you have nailed something that nobody, not even the expensive, super hip small batch denim makers, can figure out. They're a really great slim fit, medium/high rise work pant that moves with you. I want more colors, but looks like you only have the grey and the beige. Will you make more in colors other than grey and beige? Not sure why, but I get the feeling the stock on these pants is always limited. I imagine this is because they probably don't sell as well as your other pants. Some suggestions, because I know your market for these is out there: 1. Your current colors aren't great. The beige is too light - a more saturated khaki or something similar in color to your brown duck would look much better. The grey is fine, but not that interesting. That cedar color looks really solid, but it seems you're always sold out of a lot of sizes (including mine, 30x30). It looks like you might have done a green at some point, which looked interesting, but a little dark (maybe more olive?). The colors don't have to be bright and obnoxious, just make them not look so washed out and boring. 2. You've got too many variants with the same name, and it doesn't look like they fit the same. It took me a long time to discover these pants, despite consistently searching for similar products over the past few years. Your product photos and color options seem like they're made for a middle aged dude, and your description seems like it's beating around the bush. This fit is exactly what younger (I'm 30) guys are looking for. They are the most functional true slim fit (not skinny) work pants on the planet. Nobody else is making anything like these, especially not for the price point. People need to know that! Who are these for? The material isn't heavy enough to use on a job site, so probably not the construction trades. Anyone else who wants a rugged pair of pants that's got a sleek, tailored fit would want these: younger outdoorsmen (looks like you sell these through a couple outdoor websites, but they don't stand out), workers and craftsmen in industries that don't beat their clothes to pieces every day (I used to work in a wood shop and these would be perfect), people who work for a living but might be customer/client facing and need to look more put together, and of course anyone interested in the workwear style that's become extremely popular over the last decade. That's a lot of people all over the globe, and it's not that difficult to find them. You don't need to mess around with moving these pants to your "Carhartt WIP" line or any of that crap. Just say, "Hey, these are the perfect pants for dudes who do stuff and want as little extra fabric as possible." Look at Danner and Red Wing - heritage brands that make the best boots in the world, but they also know how to market to others who want dependable footwear for other reasons.

Good pants but quality control is lacking. My gray pairs fit larger than my black pair. During the sewing of the inner inseam of my black pair the fabric must have gotten pinched and part of the fabric is unintentionally sewn into the stitching of the inseam. So the pants pull funny across my right knee. I wish I would have noticed before I wore them to work so I could return them.

I’m 6’7” and slender. I went into the Carhartt store today expecting to buy one pair. I left with three. Yes they are an inch or less longer than the normal 36x36 I usually try to find, but I’m not complaining. I don’t like the duck pants because they’re too baggy in the crotch. I love the fit of these. The dark walnut is more of burgundy, almost a deep red wine, but I like it. The side zipper may come in handy, but I don’t know what for yet seeing that I only carry a small front pocket wallet. All in all I would definitely recommend these to any tall guys out there looking for a slimmer version than the duck style.

These are incredibly slim fit basically a skinny fit. I'm 6' 170 and the waist and length fit true to size but after a few washes these are unwearable. Not sure if all are like this or if I got defective pairs.

I ordered these trousers a few years back and they fit exactly how I wanted them to - they still stand the sands of time to this day. I work in maintenance and am no longer welding, but have done some welding whilst wearing these trousers and they seemed ok with the spatter bouncing off of them. I anticipated that with this brand. I have stood by this company for 20 years. My only real issue is, when I had ordered them originally, they were tighter fitting and I loved them for that. The bagginess of the other trousers used to drive me nuts sometimes. I have ordered more over the years and they are a little too baggy for me. I don't want nut huggers but I do want them to be a bit tighter, most particularly in the legs. I like that the crotch has room and the pockets are good to hold my phone, my keys, my wallet, and a hanky - comfortably. The original ones are tight fitting but not so tight you can't operate in them. The waist is a perfect fit and true to size... The TL;DR - I like them to be a bit tighter in the leg.

I work as physical education teacher and when I come home I just want to throw on some jeans and relax. These jeans just feel perfect. Snug fit, rests perfectly at my belt level, is made of tough durable material unlike most designer jeans that are made of some wierd spandex cotton mix, that feel like paper. Nothing is worse than wearing jeans that show off you cell phone in your pocket. This pant is extremely durable and you won't have that problem. My wife loves these jeans because it shows off my muscular legs and butt. You can wear these jeans around the house, durable for construction work, or even going out to the bar or sporting event. I love these jeans because it's a clean masculine look without falling down and feels comfortable in crotch which is a problem with other jeans.

They are baggier than the older pairs of this same pant that I own, and the material feels softer than the more rugged canvas feel the older model has.

These fit and look great, but why they don't put utility pockets on the legs is beyond me. They really need it and this would get a five star review. Put the pockets on the sides already !

When you're 6'5", pants that fit great and look great are hard to come by. These pants are perfect for moving around on the job. I'm a lineman and these feel perfectly comfortable to climb in.
