Had to return it. “True Fit” is inaccurate recommended I get a size that was twice what I needed

Great coat - absolutely love it. That brings my Carhartt collection to three!

It's a nice coat that's for sure. But I'd like to return and exchange for a different size. I threw away the box and receipt and I'm not sure how to go about exchanging sizes.

Excellent combo for me. I like to layer my winter coats and this jacket is just right for the task of outermost layer. The canvas outer is tough and virtually self cleaning, stays pliable in subzero temps and the pockets are gracious enough for hands with gloves on, that you can grab keys.

Fit and functionality are good. It’s both comfortable and warm. My only issue is that this morning, after less than 20 wearings going to/from work with no rigorous activities, the right side pocket stitching has torn open at the top near the zipper. Currently large enough to fit my index finger into.

Have been a Carhartt fan for 60 years; however, the quality of their trim, material and zipper systems have been compromised. Tired of fighting zippers!

I didn't realize I ordered a loose fit. I don't think I saw a regular fit. I like the jacket. I had the same jacket for years. It was time for a new one.

While the jacket feels good it's not meant for very cold weather. I wish I'd put the hood up before I bought it because the front of the hood will only fit properly if I push my shoulders up. If I relax it doesn't go much past my ears. I'm sure it will be a durable jacket but I'd rather had a warm jacket at 35°.

I needed a new winter jacket. Carhartt is the only jackets get these days. I needed a warm loose fitting jacket. This is the jacket I needed. I have always liked the washed duck outer shell once it breaks in. This has a good lining and the sleeves have quilted nylon. Real easy wearing a hoodie or a flannel shirt with this jacket. It's sturdy and well made. Lots of pockets. Zipper is heavy duty and hopefully holds up. I Length s right on and sizing is a little bit bigger, but good for layering and moving around. The only reason I'm not giving this coat a 5 star rating is the sleeves are oversized and way too bulky. They are about 1 1/2 too big. The cuffs are not tight and hopefully wearing gloves will help somewhat.. Hopefully I get a lot of winters out of this jacket..

I love the coat, but it is a little bigger than expected, I wear a XXL usually but this I should have gotten in XL, it would have been perfect.

I bought this to replace a discontinued Carhartt that I loved but was just too big for me. Had to return it. That one was replacing an earlier Carhartt that I bought 10 years ago that I also loved. This third one will do just fine for me. It keeps me warm, looks great and is my daily driver in winter weather. Carhartt's customer service is exceptional. During the pandemic, the company was always easy to contact. I am lifer when it comes to Carhartt outdoor winter wear. Now I need to start thinking about a rain coat someday soon. Thanks!

This Carhartt sherpa lined jacket is fantastic and keeps me warm in the cold weather. A quality jacket worth every penny I paid for it. I have a number of Carhartt items and they are great.

very warm, but not as warm as the artic. well made this is the 2nd coat in 20 years.

Sadly, I will be returning this coat. Got 15 years out of my previous coat, same style. What happened to Carhartt quality...? The zippers on the new coat stick, making it difficult to zip up and release at the bottom. Sherpa fleece is thinner. Outer shell is thinner. And the tag now stating "Made in India". I would've happily paid more for this coat if Carhartt had kept the same quality that they had previously. Will now be searching for a new brand.

Great coat!!! Heavy material, however, shows how durable and functional this coat can be. Heavy duty yet fashioned enough to wear out to nice restaurants.

I love it but I got the long version of the coat and it’s longer then I expected ?? and I’m like 6 foot 1 so ?? Otherwise I love the coat it looks and feels great. Has pretty awesome pockets on it. Would recommend to anyone needing a new coat

Probably want to buy a size smaller than you would usually get. I did that and it fits perfectly.

David could not open zipper so he could get the jacket on bad zipper on 2 jackets

Three stars for quality of construction and materials, but I’m 5’9”/150 lbs and this jacket absolutely swallows me. I know Carhartt runs big, but this feels like an XL on me! My friend tried this on, and at 6’0”/180, it fit him better than me. I know this is a work coat and should be a little roomy, but it looks ridiculous on me. Carhartt- if you want to sell to the slimmer, shorter guys who work trades and need a warm workhorse coat, please consider a more form fit small, or an extra small. I wanted to like this but I’m returning it.

Wasn't what I expected, but it keeps me warm during this winter season. The snaps on the hoodie don't stay snapped. The sleeves are way too long. Nice to know there is a larger size available. The old coats I have are all too small, so this is nice.

This jacket is built as advertised. I wish that a draw string could be added to tighten near the waist. I have a wide chest so I have to order larger than my waist. But... that is a personal preference. Kept me very warm when the temps hit single digits and below zero.

It’s a nice coat. Definitely runs large. 5’ 11”, 175lbs athletic build and the medium fits with decent amount of extra room. Tried a small but it was too tight in shoulders. Be careful washing. Only problem was with shrinking. Followed the washing directions and the outer canvas shrunk but the Sherpa lining did not. Now there is about 2 inches of extra Sherpa lining that bunches up. Annoying considering the price.

The purchase was the first time that I bought a Carhartt Coat for my husband. He was beyond thrilled to see the new coat and how well it fit him. My husband is a big man so I knew that I’d have to go with the bigger size and still have plenty of room for him. Thank you so very much for a great product.

Definitely size down if you get this jacket. My husband is a medium in all things but the small in this jacket fits him perfectly.

It warm and comfortable and not restrictive to move around. For any kind of activity in the Elements. The baggieness allows for any other item under it.

Have bought a number of Carhartt's as my go to for that rugged-look, and as always they are a gem. This one was no different. I'm not a huge guy so this jacket in size small was perfect for my 5'7" athletic figure. Keeps me warm in cold days with a shirt under it only. Not too big, not too small, roomy in all the right places. About 2 weeks in the sleeves are feeling looser, not as stiff as some come. Heavy feel but hey, it makes you feel like a Carhartt man. As good as it gets.
