Logger Boots Review
ChemElephant
Jul 30, 2018
I've owned two pairs of these boots. One pair that I took care of and one pair that I neglected. The neglected pair went through six months of a hard surveying job going through swamps, forrests, farms, and dozens of homes. The boots held up. They took many ricochet machete swings into the toe, leaving a white gash that showed the composite toe underneath. I ditched them because a huge tear started on the inside left side of the left boot. This is because they were never oiled.
The second pair have been very well cared for. I oil them at least twice a month in the summer and three times in the winter. These ones have slogged through New England snow and many many rough situations. The leather has been mildly scuffed from rubbing things but oiling the leather fixes this quickly. The boots are wicked comfortable and I wouldn't want anytihng else. A couple loose threads can be found around the boot, but I haven't had any complications or tears. It's been a year of almost everyday use and the only thing I replaced was the stock insert. I totally recommend doing this too, the boot will fit better and feel significantly better. Due to my loyal oiling, the boots look just like the day I bought them and are very waterproof.
Buy these boots. They're unbeatable.

I got these boots Father's Day 2022. I've worn them 3 or 4hrs. a month. There is no tread wear yet the leather upper has separated from the plastic heel. It was good while it lasted.

I purchased these for work with the Forest Service. I am very pleased. The logger sole is great for outdoors and off-pavement. Sometimes logger soles can make boots uncomfortable for work on pavement, but these still feel great. I haven't had them long enough to give a fair review on durability, but they look great, feel great and appear to be excellent quality. Would recommend.

Fit small, be sure to get wide because they are super narrow. Take awhile for your feet to break in.

I have only had them a week and so far they are great boots. The double rivets holding on the speed lacing hooks is a nice touch. I've tried other logger style boots where the fit was good in the store but slowly got worse and we returned. These boots felt good in the store and after a week of solid wear still feel good. I think they are keepers.

Haven't worn them due to snow as they are very slippery. They are tight fitting compared to other brand logger style. I plan on breaking them in before I work in them. They look well made and stylish I believe they have potential. Should of got a half size bigger but they will work. Nothing negative about them other than they are very slippery in the winter.

Better than Chippewa

I do a lot of industrial sandblasting in paper-mills and trash incinerators first time buying the boots a year ago instead of the usual pair of Chippewa boots with all the ash and lime and chemicals I encounter everyday they have out lasted any pair of Chippewa boots and definitely a better price and comfort I work in all elements of weather couldn’t ask for a better boot...

Bought these boots about a month ago. Let me just say I love carhartt and have everything else they make but have worn red wing loggers for quite some time. I thought I would give these a try to support a great company and they are a little cheaper. Honestly my feet froze today in 15 degree weather with two pairs of think socks. They also let moisture through, I stepped into a mud puddle about 3 inches deep and I could feel moisture right at the stitching. The one good thing I will say is they have very good traction in mud and snow. Disappointing

Have worn them regularly for a a good year. I am not easy on my boots. They did a good job and have been very comfortable however; they have started coming apart prematurely. I normally only wear Chippewa boots, I figured I would try the carhartt. Comparing the two carhartt has disappointed me by not going the distance. It may be a fluke however I won't be taking the chance again.

Best boot i have had. I just looked back at my purchase it was 10/10/18. It is now 9/13/20. So almost 2 years. I came here to buy a new pair for winter because they are no longer water prof. But for 2 years they have held up great. I have literally never in my life had a pair that lasted more then a year and a half.
I remember when i first got them. No break in time. They were comfortable right out of the box. I do use dr shools custom fit insoles.
I am a mechanic about 50 percent of the year. A truck driver about 30 percent, and farmer about 20 percent of the year. I cut my own firewood.
These boots have been through everything. No ripped stitches, no tears. Still perfectly wearable, i am still wearing them everyday, but worried about winter getting here soon so its time to replace them.
The composite toe does rub a little bit on one toe, but thats the way my feet are, every steel toe or composite toe boot i have ever had does it. But these rub the least of any.

Very sturdy boot. Took a while to break in before they were comfortable. Thought I had a winner until the first rainy day and had to work with damp socks all day long.
Even worse, now that the weather has finally started to warm up my feet are sweating like crazy and it's not even close to hot yet!
Maybe the membrane they're so proud about in the description got sewn in backwards?

Took longer than I thought to break in an the nub on the inside for the laces to hook around rubbed right on my ankle an was uncomfortable. Just left them loose on the bottom two hooks an problem was solved.
