These are truly comfortable boots and are really waterproof without any maintenance. I'm afraid I really abuse my boots, mowing lawn, spring through the fall and general garden work. When muddy I simply hose them off and dry them but don't apply any leather boot cleaner as I know I should. I've had these for almost 3 years and some of the stitching is starting to wear so I thought I'd get a new pair for spring, 2025.

I am very happy with these boots. I bought them for hiking. They were comfortable out of the box. Walked 2 miles in them the first time I wore them, and my feet felt wonderful. Great traction. I wear a size 5 and they were true to size.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great choice if you want to ride, do groundwork and farm work without having to change boots. Sturdy, yet lightweight. Very comfortable. I'm on my feet for several hours a day and no tired, aching feet. Plenty of support and cushioning. One caveat, if you want to wear cushioned or thick winter socks, be sure to order up at least a half size or wider width. There is no extra room in the toe box, which could be more generously sized. These are good boots for the money.

These boots are well suited for Trail riding. I used them for the first time on Trail where we had steep grass inclines covered in small rocks and boulders. I dismounted from my horse and was able to jog downhill and not slip. They are rugged enough to take knocks. Being able to dismount and run downhill and to climb the steeper parts of the trail helped my horse, we came 6th in our first intermediate ride and arrived within 5 minutes of time allowed. My ankles and knees appreciated the flexibility when doing long spells of extended trotting.

I expected the fit to be the same as with my Ariat Heritage R toe boots. But it wasn't. The fit was too narrow in EE and the length too short. Also, no teeth for good grip.

This is my second pair . First pair is 6 years old . They look crazy worn ! But still use them for dirty stuff . They’re comfortable right out of the box . Fit is very good . Absolutely the most durable boot of this type I’ve ever had . And yes , they weren’t always worn looking . They are a nice looking shoe.

I bought these all-terrain waterproof boots to take on a horse pack trip to the tetons over 10 years ago. I'd say in winter I wear these boots nearly every day and it's only just now that they're starting to leak. Most durable, practical boots I've ever had.

This is the second pair of terrain boots I have purchased and I love them because they are so comfortable and require no break in period; however, I am disappointed because they wear out so easily. This last pair is not even six months old and is no longer waterproof and the soles are starting to separate from the boot. I do walk many miles for my job but at this price it's hard to replace them just after a couple of months

I am outside (no matter the weather) with the dogs, the garden, the yard. We walk the woods at least twice a week and the dogs get three walkies a day, period. These boots (yes, I ordered men's because of foot issues) are comfortable from the start. They have the arch in exatly the right place for me and adeqate cushioning. The toe box is roomy and won't jamb my toes. The best! Thank you Ariat!

I am wearing these shoes for approximately month and a half. Immediately after unpacking them I put them on and went for a seven-days horse riding across Croatian mountain region of Lika, for approximately 170 miles. The shoe was more than excellent. Comfortable for horse riding, comfortable for walking and it can be easily worn from sun-up til sun-down. As for the waterproofness it can endure morning dew as well as the rain. I am very pleased with the shoe! I will definitely purchase another pair, Just one warning for the purchasers from Europe! For these shoes the Shepler's conversion sizing card is not accurate-precise. I took it over from Ariat's web page and the difference in size is half a number. Cro Rider

I love these boots! They keep my feet nice and dry and as usual extremely comfortable. My suggestion is to wear a medium or heavy weight sock. I have wide feet and there is plenty of room in the toe box. Wish these came in an insulated option as they’d be the perfect winter boot. Size purchased: 8

Terrain Waterproof Boot has been really great purchase. I have very wide feet and plantar fasciitis so I wanted something that would be comfortable for long hard days. They have not disappointed. I also have been working in the heavy rain and I can literally hose my shoes down and my feet do not get wet. I also think they look pretty cute even to wear outside of the barn.

By far the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. My feet are warm and dry, they fit great into my stirrups, lots of flexibility when riding.And for those fewtimes when Ihave to walk, the traction isgoodandthe soles don't pick up tons of muck. Got home tonight and forgot to put on my slippers. Normally wear a size 10, got size 11 and can wear really thick socks.

The Ariat Terrain is the only boot I can wear. The wide toe box accommodates my arthritic toes comfortably. I love that they are waterproof. I wear them in all weather conditions. The price is very reasonable plus they last for years. Please don't ever change or discontinue them.

BUT I inadvertently ordered in Men's sizing and they are about one size too large for me, I don't really want to exchange them owing to the cost of postage from here in New Zealand. I Have had 3 pair of these.First pair about 3 years ago they lasted a year and a half but I dot wear every day.Second pr wore out after a year and the third pair already breaking down less than 6 months. I do not wear daily at all have work boots for that wear maybe 20 percent of time just around town do not work in I think they feel good on your feet just don't Last This last pr is already breaking down at heel and coming apart they are size 10 I weigh 158 lb so never been hard on shoes Would be great if they held togeather a little better And as far as water proof I can't agree Less than 6 months breaking down at heel and leak worse than first 2 pair did

Most hiking boots have deep tread that makes them unsafe for use in stirrups. These have very shallow treads, while still having enough to make them less slippery than leather-soled cowboy boots on wet surfaces. Moreover, these boots are astoundingly comfortable to walk around in. They've now become my go-to shoes nearly every day.

These hiking boots fell like custom made hiking boots and right out of the box nearly an exact fit and I like the width of the EE for my paddles. I wore them today for 4 miles and will getting them broken in to my feet and will be at 10 miles before long. These may cost more to start out, but the cost of replacing the cheaper hiking boots added up quickly, these are lower in cost over time. I really liked the lace eyes as other boots use speed clips that tear up the laces. I look forward to buying more of your products in near future.

My husband buys a new pair every year so we wish they would last longer. He is wearing them most everyday for doing horse chores in the evening. They are getting hard use & are truly waterproof. This is the only boot he's happy with. Not a cowboy boot kinda guy. Finds them too narrow & stiff. So we'll stick with these & hope you continue to offer them. He wears a 13 EE which is not always an easy size to find either.

I will soon order a new pair of the Waterproof Terrain Boot just so I can have a new color! I have many other pairs of Ariat boots; western style "Cowboy boots", Fat Babies, English Paddock boots-lace and zip, plus others. In the pull-on styles I wear a 10 due to my instep. But for all the lace-up models I buy a 9.5. These boots will not stay waterproof if you are walking across streams, etc, but they dry and wear like the water never phased the leather. If I am cleaning stalls, I spray them off with no damage to the leather. I would say the brea-in time is short...but I don't remember them not fitting like a glove on day one. I must mention that my current pair of of the Terrains have been in high-rotation use since 2015! They have a stirrup-safe sole with a slim spur-stop. They fit nicely under both Ariat and other brands of half chaps. I work in the film industry and am on my feet hours a day. These are my go-to shoes/boots for long work days. They are never hotter than other boots for use in the summer-(choose socks wisely), AND I have never had cold-feet when wearing cold weather socks. Another HUGE SELLING FEATURE of these boots...the amazing anti-microbial foot-bed NEVER GETS STINKY! What's up with that!? I have high end hiking boots, sport shoes, sneakers, etc that I will refresh with deodorizing spray after heavy use-but with these Ariats I never have to do that! Weird! But, a good weird!!!

They are very comfortable. I wear a women's size 11, so I buy a mans size 9. They are wide and long enough. A great boot.

I used these for shoveling snow during winters in Kansas City. They kept my feet comfortable, warm and dry. The fit was great. Shoe construction was excellent, all seams were well made. They had decent traction on the pavement even when there was a minor layer of ice. One downside is after going indoors my feet would get hot after 20 minutes. As long as you’re outside they are great. If you’re not as hot natured as I am then you may be able to wear them indoors too. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Excellent boots, appear to have good quality construction. These tend to run true to size. I ordered a pair in size 10.5D, and they fit very well. Shepler's included a "instruction" sheet on how boots should fit - which was VERY helpful. The sheet describes how all new boots tend to slip in the heel when first tried on, and that you should go by the way the rest of the boot fits, esp. in the instep. Sure enough, when I first tried them on, they fit well, but slipped a bit in the heel. A couple of days later, as they became broken in, and were more flexible, the slipping stopped. Had it not been for the Shepler's fitting guide, I would have returned the boots as being too large - which they are not. I'm very happy with my purchase, and with Shepler's!

Purely by chance, it rained non-stop the day after I got these boots so I spent the entire day thinking how glad I was that they had arrived when they did. I’m a dog walker so I had to spend a very long time out in the rain. My feet stayed completely dry and comfortable the entire day.

I had to order a men's size to get the width I need. I wore the around the house for several days and they seem to fit good. I got the waterproof as I want them for wet weather and snow. I do wish they were a little taller on the leg but I think they will be fine. As far as looks goes they are ok for a woman. I think they will be fine.

This last pair is my third pair over six years. Look god over time with zero maintenance. Heel allows me to ride without having to wear a Western boot. Waterproof feature lasts forever. If Ariat does not change design - this is my boot for the next twenty years.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a pair of Ariat riding boots which are 12 years old and are the most comfortable boots I own, so I decided to give other Ariat products a try. I purchased the waterproof version of the Ariat Terrain in March of 2021. I treated them with mink oil several times and wore them as a daily boot nearly every day, except in summer when I wear sandals. I typically walk in all environments, but it’s mostly grass, woodlands, and other soft surfaces with some urban walking as well. The tread has held up well despite the urban use, but after one year cracks started forming at the toes and after 1.5 years, holes developed and the leather upper has started separating from the sole. After 2 years, large holes have developed at the toes and the boots are only good for chores. I’m disappointed that they did not hold up longer and I’m hesitant to purchase other ariat products. My feet tended to sweat more in these, but I chalked that up to the waterproof lining. If you’re feet sweat easily, you might consider the regular version if you’re ok with having to replace them every year when they start wearing out.

These are so comfortable and have great support. We had record freezing, wind and snow and these boots were feet savers.....I've been having pain in my knees and they gave enough support that I have had no pain since wearing them...I'm would love to purchase another pair to switch on and off. Amazing how the rest of my body feels with these boots and without the pain in my knees.

Only received my Ariat H2Os a few weeks ago but they are great. Comfortable straight out of the box they are lightweight yet supportive. The soul is grippy but not too chunky, and they're perfect for riding or general work. Love the pliable, waterproof oiled finish, the look and the value.

Over 8 years ago, I bought a pair of Ariat clogs. I wore them a LOT and they're still in great shape. I recently got this pair, knowing they'd lastforever.Right out of thebox,they're very comfortable. Theconstruction is solid and they feel wonderful. I have wide feet and the medium width fits me well. I got a larger size to accomodate thick socks, but I'd say the fit is pretty true to size. I haven't worn them in severe weather yet, but I know they'll keep my feet warm, dry and comfortable. I've already worm them hiking and they were super-comfy! Thanks for making such great shoes!

I have had a pair of these since about 2006. I've had to spray them a couple times with waterproof spray because they've been worn out over time, gained cracks and such because I didn't clean them regularly, but I've worn these over literally all kinds of terrain, in water, in muck, in deep mud, and they've been my favorite shoes ever. I've been horseback with them, I've wandered New York City and other places in Europe, worn them as my daily shoes for some periods of time. I'm planning on retiring mine and buying an exact same new pair this year, and I'm stoked that they're available at the same price.

These are the best footwear I've ever purchased. I absolutely love them. After reading some other reviews, I ordered a6.5 (I usually wear a7 or 7.5).Theyfit like a glove,andrequired no breakin. I've worn them every single day for 6+ hours since I got them 2 months ago, and they haven't let me down! They even still look brand new. My feet used to hurt constantly with past boots, but these are so comfy!!! They are lovely for riding as well. Narrow and elegant enough to fit in a stirrup, and they look pretty good under some half chaps. I will absolutely buy another pair.

I work as a lab tech on wet painted concrete floors and have owned many different brands of waterproof and slip resistant boots. I would have tosay these arethe worst i have ever purchased as faras slip control. Ihave owned them for 3 weeks and have injured my back and knee from slipping. They do not breathe and make my feet sweat. They are however very comfortable and light weight. Disappointed in my first Ariat purchase!

There is no boot, shoe or sneaker that can compare for comfort, stability, durability and support of my flat feet. There is no other boot that Ihave triedthat prevents mytoesfrom frostbite asI havetried just about everything. My toes would freeze within the first hour in other boots. I ride my horse in them, do stall work and also wear them all summer long! I have 2 pairs, 1 for barn, 1 for around town....thinking to order 2 more just to save. Best Boot Ever ~

True to size, great support, nothing digging into your ankle, wide toe box, great with thin or thicker socks. Put them to the test today in mud, ice/snow, a creek, up and down slick terrain and they did not disappoint. Very happy with my purchase and I see why they have great reviews.

Absolutely love these waterproof boots. I go from hiking to riding back to hiking back to riding without a hitch. I did get boots that are 1/2 size larger so that I can wear thick socks if the temperature warrants. Also purchased the black ones as I think they are the nicest looking. My last pair of black terrain waterproof boots lasted for more then 5 years of a moderate amount of use. I actually still have that original pair that I keep and use for the worst weather conditions. Would purchase these again and again.

Excellent boots I use in the waterworks profession. They seem to run slightly bigger for my normal size. Seem to be waterproof so far. Very comfortable. Time will tell on long-term longevity but Ariats always seem to last the longest of all the work boots I've bought in 20 years of work.

The first year I got into a flood an had to stand in 18 inches of water for awhile. I had no trouble with them after that but normal wear. The new ones fit fine. I don't no if they have changed other than the shorter laces which is good so they don't touch the ground after double knotting. I'll let you know how they work out. Thank you, Doug.

waterproof runs very small, wearing an 8D in regular terrain, had to get an 8.5 wide in waterproof one, heavy boot, sent them back even once I got the correct size and kept the lighter farmland instead

These boots are comfortable, waterproof and durable. Good for riding and spending most of the day on your feet on the farm. True to size but no extra room in the toe box so if you want to wear thick or cushioned socks, size up at least half a size. My one minor complaint is the leather piece in front of of the laces towards the toe, it curls up within a week. Either stitch it or get rid of it!

I've been wearing the Terrain Ariat lace up ankle boot for nearly 20 years. I can rely on this boot to fit comfortably and last. I wear them every single day for everything from work to riding and in nearly 20 years, I've only just bought my 4th pair and two of the other pairs, are still functional but pretty beat up. I hope they keep making this boot forever. I'll never wear another, as long as they do.

Wide fit and "OMG" comfortable, at 40 something and riding all my life these are the most comfortable boots i have worn. My parents bought my first pair of these back in the early 2000s and I used them 3 days a week the entire time. Two years ago I picked riding back up and started with that same old pair. The original pair lasted me 11 years and broke a couple months ago. Bought these as the replacements and I’m thrilled! No breaking-in needed and they really are waterproof, it rained the whole first week I had them. They also clean easy, I rinse off excessive mud and let them air dry.

Very comfortable, been wearing them for about 15 years and have them in every color. I like them all!!! Also use them in construction work and checking cattle, very versatile. The sizing is different than normal though, i wear a 6.5 in Ariat and others 7.5. I rarely wear any other shoes even though I have a ton.

The last pair I had lasted me several years but they weren’t waterproof, they still held up great and had to toss them because you could see more sock than the boot!! I use things till they wear out! Finding these in waterproof is amazing-I get to go thru the mud puddles while the grandchildren watch!! Love the boots and you will not be disappointed!

This is my third pair of Terrain boots-so I'm both a repeat customer and fairly familiar with the Ariat brand. I put these boots through the wringer at work and easily wear them 10-12 hours a day. With that level of wear and tear I am fairly happy the boots hold up for about a year and a half. I do like the new cushier insert in the boot compared to previous versions. I also love the waterproof aspect of the design and would say the boots stay dry fairly well. One thing I notice is that my boots often fail with leather cracks around where the ball of the foot bends when crouching down. After the leather cracks the waterproofing is all but gone. I would really like if Ariat could find a way to reinforce that area! Overall, these boots hold up to heavy use and keep my feet completely comfortable in summer and winter conditions.

Excellent footwear. At us in Russia it is rainy also such footwear perfectly approaches to weather in the autumn. A choice quality, excellent appearance. we bought two pairs about two weeks ago. One for me and one for one of my workers. My pair started out a little tight, but fit right now. The pair for my worker fit good out of the box. We do liquid lawn treatments. Boots are in wet grass all day. They are keeping our feet dry so far. We'll see if they last a season?

Love these boots! Very comfortable with no break in time needed. I bought these for the small non clunky style & for riding my motorcycle to keep feet warm. I just wear a pair of tbermal socks & my feet stay warm at 70mph. I have always had good experience with Ariat brand fitting well with comfort. The ONLY reason for the 4 star rating is because my left boot has a really bad squeak when I walk which is annoying otherwise I would have gone 5 stars. I would have sent them back for a replacement but had taken them on a bike trip & they were needed. They fit just a bit wide for me but that's fine because of the thermal socks I wear so not an issue. Im still recommending anyone to purchase these.

They look cool and I feel safer on the trail and love the little pop of turquoise. The high outer ankle did cause a blister, but I have no doubt I'll adjust in time. The rest of the boot was very comfortable, no sore spots or blisters and no wet socks!

I fact, I’m still using them after just recently re-gluing the toe. Still waterproof. But they are beat up so I got a pretty new pair to wear on appropriate occasions. So far so good. Purchased the water proof boots before and no problem. This time, they are not extra wide (which I need for 1 horrible bunion on my foot). Boots say, extra wide but, I would have to challenge that. Otherwise I have NO problems with these boots.

I have been wearing these terrain kind of boots since '92. I was stuffing my feet into the medium widths for black until about 4 years ago. I wore the black mediums that look good with most casual clothing till my feet just needed the wide. (My feet have problems and these are the only shoes that don't hurt or walk over the side.) But now that I have to wear wide, the only color choices are copper, distressed brown and the light one with rainbow trim. I have been asking for wide black to Ariat every year... for years. They just don't consider what goes best with clothing. As you can see the 2 year old copper in the middle are what the new copper on the end started as. The copper does not stay dark. I have 2 pair now that look like the middle. The structure and steel shank keep the shoes wearable and sound for years. I do not walk the shoes off the soles because of the steel shanks. If they were not in these, they maybe would have lasted less than a year. I wear these exclusively now but the soles wear after 2 years. I am only embarrassed by the color I have to choose. There are great for endurance riding and the pack trips

I have only bought boots at a store due to the difficulty in getting a comfortable fit. This is the first boot/shoe I have ordered on line based on previous experience with Ariat boots I felt confident it would be good. It's the first boot I've ordered and it fit perfectly, is very comfortable and required little break in, felt good from the start and I'm very happy with the Ariat comfort and quality.

I just bought my second pair of Ariat boots, at the recommendation of riding instructors as I prepare to head out to the Rockies for a week of hiking and horseback trails. I bought my first pair about a decade ago when I lived in MT, and ultimately they did get a bit shabby because I wore them so much. The riding pros out West recommended this version because they have just enough heel for horseback riding and are waterproof, improvements over the original pair. So I don't have to take separate riding boots, freeing up baggage space.

My first pair has lasted at least five years. I tend to use these boots from fall thru the winter. The old ones are just starting to wear out onthe sides andthe tread isgetting smooth. The replacementpairjust arrived and they've apparently improved the waterproofing. My feet are smallish and tend to be a little delicate. The Terrains were comfortable from the very first time I tried them. I once stood for better than eight hours continuously in the mud at an outdoor festival and my feet were dry, warm and fatigue-free afterward.

I absolutely LOVE these boots. My second pair. I have such sensitive feet, lol. I can wear these for extended times, indoors, outdoors & my feet never hurt at the end of the day. I originally purchased the leopard print terrain boots in sz 8 and they were a little roomy so I put in a pair of insoles. Second pair I purchased I ordered the 7.5 & they fit more snugly. Cleaning troughs by dumping them using a handyman siphoning (a blessing) but there is water in the area...much less than it could be...this is where Ariat-Terrain Waterproof boots one in. Fits perfect..no need to work them in...and I now stay very dry. I couldn’t have anything better! I LOVE MY ARIAT BOOTS!

Ending up returning these. Very disappointed because for that price rage was expecting better fit. The problem is there is very little support on heel inside the boots which makes it slide up and down every time you make step. Not sure if it's just this pair or this model in general.

The first time I put them on was going into a work shift that turned out to be a 20 hour day where I was on my feet for 17 of the 20. I’ve worn many pairs of boots in my life from every major outdoor brand. A buddy of mine said to try these. I work long hours on concrete floors, sometimes dirt and gravel depending on the asking of the day. These are the most comfortable and and secure boots I’ve ever worn. I’ve worn these in 2 major snow storms, at 3 degrees, these kept my feet warm and dry for hours. I’ve donated my duck boots and 2 other pair of boots to the Salvation Army and ordered another pair of these. The tread provides great traction, mud and snow are easy to knock off them. The stitching is high quality, and the extra waterproof piece on the toe matches the boot well for style, and add extra protection where the boot is most likely to meet impact. The laces and boot tongue pull snug forming the perfect fit to the foot. The top of the boot meets the ankle but allows flex for free movement. These are also 3 times lighter than any other boot I have. No matter what environment you wear these boots in they will serve you well.

Purchased a pair of the Terrain Shoes approximately 1 yr ago for daily wearing. What I have found is that the toe caps are a very brittle material and are cracking and coming apart. Also the left shoe leather has separated from the sole for about 2" along the outside at the ball of the foot area. I am disappointed that the shoes have not held up better than this. Will not purchase another pair of these.

This will be my third pair of Terrain Waterproof boots. The first pair, having been worn almost daily around the ranch for three years, have been relegated to under the bed earthquake prepardiness boots, not because they have worn out but because they are scruffy looking. These are the most comfortable boots. I work in them, hike in them, have never needed a "break in" period and they remain waterproof. I'm excited to receive my third pair... they will now be my good boots!

Stumbled upon ARIAT brand several years ago in a Saddle Shop. While I'm not a cowboy boot type guy, their H2O lace work boots have found a warm place in my heart while giving the feet dry and warm protection thru rugged winters, causing a renewed internal self confidence and higher success rate in scoring with the ladies. Then again they do wonders to compliment my flannel shirts and stubble of a beard while sipping brandy, so it is difficult for women to resist the overall presentation. One might think they are even stylish if they're into style.

I bought these boots a couple weeks ago and never having owned Ariat's before I decided this would be my test of their quality. I wear boots 7 days a week and I put a lot of demands on them, I live in Northwest Montana and need boots that are tough. I walk my dog every day and spend most of each day outside doing everything from cutting trees to clearing snow, we are surrounded by 7 million acres of National Forest and we are in the woods anytime that we have a chance. These are good boots for the most part. They only last me a year. They start cracking on the sides and leaking. The soles outlast the uppers by far. They are the only shoes I can wear for long periods without my feet hurting. But they react with the perspiration from my feet to create a terrible stench. After a few weeks, I can't wear them in enclosed spaces. The non waterproof Terrains don't have the same problem but I don't wear them as often.

Wonderful for walking around, especially over adverse terrain and for long periods. Excellent arch support. Tends to run large (probably intended for thickhiking socks), sobe sure to factor thatin when consideringpurchasing them -- I bought my typical size and there was a fair bit of extra room. The waterproofing is an added bonus; they double as rain boots for me.

These are my favorite boots to ride and do barn chores in. They are more comfy than my tennis shoes and they were always covered in "dirt", I would wear them everywhere. I have owned this pair for a year and they are holding up well. I have owned Ariat riding tennis shoes for 15 years and these are my third pair. Gotta love them. Please never stop selling these types of boots.

My first pair of Terrain H20's made it just over two years, but the small rubber flap of the sole that extends up over the toe came loose on both boots and I glued them back in place with Shoe Goo twice. With the exception of the toe, they have worked very good including working on metal roofs at a 6/12 pitch. I have worn Timberland's for years, but could never get more than one year out of a pair of boots, so two years is great. I wear them six days a week as we are a volunteer construction ministry. I did send an email and some pictures to corporate Ariat asking them to consider stitching that rubber flap onto the toe. Very comfortable right out of the box.

I love this boot. Second pair didn't last as long as my first pair, but each did last well over a year. I wore these every day for all kinds of yard & landscaping work as well as hikes w/ my dog. Mud, rain, snow... didn't matter these boots took all the punishment. I do wish they had more aggressive lugs on the sole. Would love to see that minor tweak.

I’ve had 3 pairs of these boots. The style, comfort and being fairly waterproof have made these my favorite by far. My only complaint would be the stitching separates especially around the black trim guards on the front sides. Even my local tack shop was surprised to see this. I’ll still buy another pair, I like riding in them. Their soles far outlast the timberland boot.

I have worn the Women's Terrain Waterproof Boot for several years now! I keep a newer pair for work at the office and keep my older pair to wear around the house and doing yard work. I buy a new pair every year and rotate them. I work for a chiropractor and he said this is not only a well made shoe, but it is a good boot to wear! I have recommended this boot to some of our female patients that work in agriculture. I have worked on cement floors wearing this boot and it is very supportive. I also live where we have cold snowy winters and it is a great winter boot as it is waterproof. I wear them year around and highly recommend them for you!

I had the regular Terrains and they lasted over a year. I decided to replace them with the H2O since they are waterproof. After less than a year the toes are separating. I do not wear these in the summer, so a year is not a year of constant use. I am going to order another pair because they are comfortable and they don't have those huge lugs on the soles like other boots. I hope these will last longer or else I will look else ware next time.

These boots look great and are very comfortable. They have a great arch support system. The only negative is the narrow width. I normally wear 8.5 D in women's but wide wasn't available in the women's sizes. So I ordered the men's 7 D (I wear this type of boots outside in the winter) so I would have enough width to allow for thick socks. I like them so much I will wear them anyway when I don't need extra warm socks. Just be careful if you have wide feet. The men' look identical to the women's.

Purchased these in October from the store I work at and by November the plastic on the toe started giving out. By February and front of the shoe completely fell apart. I have had these shoes in the past and this wasn’t a problem. What happened to this design? I wore these to my job as a cashier at work. No wear and tear doing that job! I expected a lot more from Ariat.

I normally go up or down a size when ordering wides but these boots you don't need too, just order your normal size plus the width. Great in the snow and warm. I'm on the site looking for my next pair of these boots and thought to leave my review. After SIX years, the sole at the toes are separating from the leather. The bottom soles are still completely intact. I've always ride in these boots and I also wore them while working barn crew. They've gotten soaked more than once (washing my horse!). They've been my go-to boots for mowing and any kind of strenuous, dirty work. They're comfortable and provide good support for your feet. I have to add that I didn't wear these boots in the snow, I've got warmer boots for winter. These boots are great for Spring, summer and Fall.

I bought these boots for my vacation to Iceland. It was 40°F and raining all week long. I was a bit nervous about my feet getting blisters because I didn’t break in the boots at all before my trip. These boots kept my feet dry through rain, waterfall terrain, and even a literal wave that came up the beach too far. My feet didn’t hurt at all even after a 10 hour day of hiking and walking. No blisters. I have nothing but good things to say about these boots. I was so impressed with them. Not to mention they’re also really cute bc I got the cow print ones :) If you like hiking you definitely need to add these to your wardrobe!!

I was recommended these shoes when I was looking for a great winter boot for playing disc golf in the cold winter months and sloppy spring. Need to wear thick socks with them cause my feet are pretty narrow which is not a problem by me cause I love wool socks. Happy with the water proof aspect but I still get snow in them and my feet get wet but I don’t think it’s cause of the boot just the deep snow. I also have plantar fasciitis and they are nice a supportive so I’m in less pain.

I will be using them for my horse packing and trail repair trips in the future. I am also using them somewhat as my daily wear around the barn and work. Negatives Shoes are a little wide in the heel, and I’m using an insole to make them work as sizing down was too small. Additionally, after a week of wearing them, some of the stitching is coming off in the toe, but I do not yet know how that will affect longevity.

I have been using these boots for over 2 years now and just love them. The boots fit perfect right out of the box, and I really liked this part, breaking in boots is hard. The boots are very comfortable, and the weight is not bad too. I am picking up another pair for summer use and hope the new boots last as these did. I will keep the older boots for dirty work and use the newer boots for lesser work or hiking trips.

I love these. I ride with them every day. They are comfortable and waterproof and mudproof. I have to replace them after 1 year, but they last 6 months longer than any other cowboy boot I have used. I wouldn't perform or show in them, but exercising and working horses they are comfortable.

I’m on my second pair of these boots. These definitely keep your feet dry, warm and you can ride in these. I have no complaints. I wear them to the barn everyday. I have a pair for casual errands too. A slight con would be they don’t last as long as I’d like but taking into consideration I wear them everyday, buying a new pair every 2 winters is ok. I have to say that I love these boots. I have worn all kinds and in all conditions, and never found a pair that held upas well as these. They arecomfortable, light, and flexible, which is a greatbenefit sinceI flyfor a living, and quick feet are sometimes necessary on the rudder pedals. What's better, the leather on these has survived rain, mud, gas, jet fuel, bleach, degreaser, and the horrible stuff we put on roads and sidewalks to melt ice every winter. The leather is still soft, and the rubber protection on the heel and toe is nice. Also, Ariat puts leather on the inside of the heel. Every other shoe or boot I've owned has grown big holes where my heels rub, but the leather inside these has protected them. I'd recommend to anybody.

I recently got a pair of these boots on my way to a hiking/camping site and didn't have time to try them on first. I was pleasantly surprised thattheyfittrue tosize andfeltbroken in right out of the box.I notice that some reviews feel that the boot runs narrow or small, and I'll bet that this has more to do with the sock than the boot. With some of my thicker hiking socks I have to loosen up the laces for a comfy fit. When I wear warm weather socks I tighten the laces back up.I cannot say whether they'd be very well-suited for casual wear or for going out. It's not 1993. Who would wear hiking boots to go out?

Wow what a great idea. Boots that keep my feet dry and can be worn with half chaps, full chaps or in the wash rack. English or Western rider these boots will save your dress or show boots. Sorry Ariat I think "U" shot yourself in the foot with this one. Now my other 6 pair of Ariat boots will last longer. I should add all I wear is boots daily no shoes just boots.

Not recommended for mud or snow, lack of tread depth will have slipping and sliding. Also moisture on top of boot toes migrates into socks. All and all I look forward to using these in the summer when trails are dry.

I have been buying these exact boots for about 9 years. When I first started buying these boots they would last me about a year now they arecomingapart inthe crease wheremy feet bend near the base ofmy big toe, the last pair I bought started almost as soon as they were put into use. I have one leg shorter than the other due to an accident and need a good support type boot. The orthodontic lift I have to have put on the left boot costs about 75 dollars each time, that is why I try to buy a good quality boot that will last.

I had a pair of these boots that I have loved for years. I needed a new pair because the inside just wore out. The outside still looked pretty good except where I “heeled them off” with my other foot. I really cannot remember how long I had the first pair but will guess it was at least 6-7 years. They are great! I am considering buying another pair right now to tuck away because I do not know what I will want to wear when this pair wears out in another 6+ years. Great boots!

These boots are very comfortable and great for working and as an added bonus they are waterproof. Great for whatever you need to do on a day to day basis.I tried similar products from other companies and they wasn't as comfortable and they are not as good made, they didn't last long after getting wet.I will definitely recommend these to everyone looking for great work or daily shoes.They are very inexpensive for the great quality.

This boot livedupto all theravereviews.Keptmy feet dry and are super comfortable- right out of the box. They are my favorite dog walking shoes and all round favorite casual boot. I wear them with everything - even my skirts. Unless you have super narrow feet, you'll love these boots.

I have had them for a few weeks now and they the most comfortable work boot I have ever owned. Even at the end of an 8-10 hour day of being on my feet, I have no pain or discomfort. I have also worn these boots in the rain and in mud and they have stayed completely dry inside. I have already recommended Ariat boots to several other colleagues in the tree and landscape industry. I really hope these hold up over time because they have been great so far! I would only add that the printable size chart seems to run large. My foot measured a Women's size 9 and "wide". I ended up returning the size 9 "wide" for a size 8 "wide". While they seem fine length wise, they are still a bit too wide and I have to pull the laces very tight. I would recommend sizing down.

I originally bought the Insulated H2O Terrains and absolutely love them!!! So I bought the H2O and the regular Terrains also. They are socomfortableandsturdy for ridingor walking. Ihaveaccidentally trudged through ice puddles to my ankles yet stayed totally dry!

I love these boots! I wear them every day...they are my go to for work, riding, barn chores, lawn work....I even walk in them!! My recent purchase is the umpteenth pair I've owned and I got the waterproof this time because the morning dew can be heavy. That said, I was a little disappointed that the sizing between the reg and waterproof Terrains is slightly diff, with the waterproof running small. Luckily I have a shoe stretcher and was able to make it work, but I may not buy the waterproof again because of this. Or Ariat needs to make a Women's 10.5 in the waterproof to accommodate the size difference.

Make sure you wear good quality socks, blisters may occur in first wear. Other than that, they are very comfortable, give great support under the arch and around the ankles. The boots appear to be all that they were said to be.

I have been wearing Ariat Terrain boots for many years. My first pair lasted for over eleven years. The last four years they were my go to boots for working on our property, walking, and hiking. The only change I have made in recent purchases of Terrain boots is to buy the H20 boot because our property is in the Appalachian mountains where there is a lot of moisture. This year I retire and will use my boots for riding as well. Oh, I almost forgot! I am a teacher and I wear my Terrain boots to work as well.

I always look to Ariat for my foot ware due to the comfort I have experienced with the other Ariat foot ware I own (paddocks boots x3 and hiking boots). These do not disappoint! I saw these and everything looked good for a substantial hiking boot. First pair worn for four years, all weather, all terrain. I still like them but bought a new pair as a spare. Very well made, never had wet cold feet, and no repairs at all. Hope No. 2 will be as durable and comfortable

The best boot ever is how I would describe it. It is waterproof. I wear them in all sorts of weather and they keep my feet dry. They are also very sturdy. I am very hard on my shoes and these stand up to the rigors of horses and dogs.

Bought a 1/2 size larger than I typically purchase to leave room for thick socks during the winter. Added insole since I am a narrow and B is the smallest size in these boots. LOVE THEM! So happy they were waterproof and so comfortable to wear all day the first day! Highly recommend these boots.

I was looking for something like a combination riding and hiking boot for extreme long-distance and back-country ridingand walking. These bootarelookcute,are super comfy, and are great in thesaddle. But, walkingmy horse from the ground I was slipping and sliding on any terrain other than flat pavement. With no traction on the bottom, they just don't work like hiking boots on rocks, loose soil, or hills. Nevertheless, I really them and will definitely keep using them for trail riding!

I LOVE these Ariat boots. They fit my foot very well. They were immediately comfortable. No break in time required. I recently purchased another brand of shoes and had issues with it, rubbing on the top part of my foot which was making it uncomfortable. This is the second style of Ariat shoe boot. I have tried over the past eight years to door, and I enjoyed them both. This is now my preferred shoe as the other shoe boot sole would wear out after three or four months from every day use.

They are really comfortable and fit great. They have no traction though. I was really surprised to see the sole is basically flat. They're only going to be good on general easy terrain, which is only like 5% of the hikes I go on. I took them on an easy rated hike and slipped multiple times on wet rocks. It's really unfortunate because I bought them for hiking and can no longer return them.

I bought these boots in May of 23 and as a landscaper who both mows and runs a shovel from time to time these are not holding up. The toe wrap is peeling off, laces are too long from Ariat for this shoe. They can’t handle heavy dew at all. Once they’re soaked they’re soaked. Comfort is decent along with the support. Sole could be more aggressive to handle slopes better.

Super comfortable, hiked 6.6 miles in Harpers Ferry on the trail and didn't have any problems with sore feet and stayed dry. The trails above Harpers Ferry are pretty rocky and didn't have any problems navigating them.

Great boot! I had originally ordered the Heritage Round Toe paddock boot (also a great boot), but the fit was all wrong for me, so had to return them. I needed a good boot fast for a previously planned all-day trail ride. I found these Terrain H2O at my local outfitter and they are FABULOUS! Great fit right out of the store. Waterproof as stated. No breaking in time. I wore them for 15 hours the first day out! They run large so purchased a half-size smaller, still pleny of room for my wide feet, orthotics, and a good pair of socks. I will for sure buy another pair when these eventually wear out!

Fit is very good and they walk comfortable. Only one PROBLEM, the laces that came with the shoes are way TOO long by 5 inches on each side when tied and I have to make the bow really large to keep from walking on the laces and I still come close to walking on the laces. Other wise great shoes

Purchased these a month ago as a hybrid riding/hiking boot for a trip to Africa next year. I know Ariat runs large. I usually take a 10 1/2 - 11 but I bought a 10. I was spot on on the size. The length is great and fits comfortably well, toe box fits perfect but the heal slips. Tried to take a mile walk today and came home with heel blisters. The heal box definitely is too large or just not shaped right. I'll use them for riding, not walking in the future. Construction is excellent. I'd send them back if I could.

This is the 1st pair of waterproof Terrains I have worn to the barn. I have probably worn out 20 Terrains that weren't waterproof. I love these shoes for barn use as they are all day comfortable and I can ride in them. I'm hoping the waterproof will last longer. I bought the boots a last month. There’s this defined crease showing in both boots that weren’t there when new. I’m not happy with this new look of the boots. My feet feel a bit better than in the previous boots I was wearing. I’ve spend a lot of money (for me) and seeing the boots form this black line seems to me that the boots are not the quality, as advertised.

This boot is an excellent choice for travel. They pull dual duty as a riding boot paired with half chaps and a hiking boot, saving valuable space. I previously wore out a pair of the non-waterproof version after several years. Those served me well, though realized my mistake on a 5 day horse trek in Tuscany in the pouring rain. I've not tested them in that kind of downpour, so cannot speak to just how waterproof they truly are. Sizing is fairly generous, but the availability of a wide width is much appreciated.

Sizing difference between waterproof and non-water

I successfully tried multiple size 10 1/2 non-waterproof Terrains (waterproof not available locally) Size 10 non-waterproof was far too short. Ordered 10 1/2 waterproof online but they were far too long/wide!! Had to return them at my expense for 10 which fit just fine - both length and width!!

I work in the CMV trucking industry. I am a CDL instructor. I have had my boots for 3 1/2 years. They are more comfortable today than the day I bought them. Can't ask for a better work boot! I bought a men's small boot. Men's boots last longer than women's, I found out. Did that when I was in law enforcement. I'm always on my feet and no matter the cost, I get what is good. The price on these is amazing. I recommend these boots to anyone. Thank you Ariat, for an excellent product. P.S. YES!!! VERY WATERPROOF!!

This is my second pair of terrains. Absolutely no break in required. Very comfortable. I use them for trail riding. A little on the big size. I ususally wear a 9 but with these I wear an 8.5 and still have room for thick socks.

I have been an Ariat customer for 25+ years. I've had numerous pairs of the terrain waterproof (h2o) boot. Very comfortable boot and easy to go from work to the saddle and back. They used to stay waterproof for about a year of daily use working 10-12 hour days in a barn. The pair before my last purchase began to leak at 4 months. The last purchase left my socks wet after walking in heavy dew on the grass (not rain) the first week. Very disappointed. This is not the quality I am used to from Ariat.

I love these boots! I purchased them to go hunting in NM mountains. I put them on to break them in before my hunting trip, and as other reviews have stated, they were comfortable immediately and not necessary to break them in. The toe box is slightly wider than average, which works great for that extra pair of socks, or simply more room after my foot surgery. Ive only worn them 4-5 times so far so i can't comment on the durability but i have high hopes. Great looking boot.

Great boots! My wife has owned 2 pairs of the Terrains for her horseback riding (because they have enough heel, and barn work. She gifted these boots to me for my riding lessons - and sometimes I help her clean the stall, too :) Super comfortable boots - all day long.

This shoe was just what I wanted. A compromise between a full boot and casual, good looking shoe. Fit was good, and I did not have to break in. They came straight out of the box to all day, every day wear. Comfortable, sturdy, and waterproof. As a bonus, they look good.

This is the 3rd or 4th pair of these I've bought. Either they got narrower or my feet got wider. But they don't make wides of this boot above size 9. Wildly disappointing. This is otherwise a great boot. I don't know why Ariat thinks long footed women only have narrow feet.

These boot are so comfortable and they last! I have a brown pair that has lasted me over 5 years and wanted a pair in black. Now I have 2 pair!! These boots are waterproof and mudproof! Just spray the hose on them and poof! They are looking brand new. I will definitely recommend these boots to anyone who needs a new pair of waterproof boots.

I have been wearing Ariat Terrains for probably a decade. I remember when almost everyone I knew wore them -- I would look around at a campfire, and probably 85% of people were wearing Terrains. Over the last few years, I've increasingly heard people saying they no longer last as well. Now I find I have to agree. I purchased a pair in April, and they are already coming apart. And I probably have only worn them for 10 hours a week during that time. I remember when I could get over two years out of them, and that's when I was in the barn all day every day. Sorry, Ariat, but you need to work on your quality control!

This my 2nd pair of the Terrain boots. Loved my first pair - they were sturdy, waterproof, long lasting through walking everyday rain, snow, shine. No problems. My 2nd pair, not so much. The first time in wet weather, and wet grass, my left foot was soaking wet, right foot just damp. Still... Such a disappointment. I want to love them forever, but this pair just isn't the quality I expected based on my first experience. Did I just get a pair that missed QC check?

I absolutely love these. I work with animal rescue so I have really put them through it. I am ordering a second pair. I mainly am in the Mississippi Delta. The mud there is gumbo mud and it is so thick. I also walk on concrete all day. Very comfortable. Kudos for making a great boot. I may get some taller ones for my second pair. I need the ankle support because of my job.

I love the shoes. Unfortunately they do not work with the afo that I have to wear on my right foot. I do have a pair that I wore for several years without an afo but I am forced to wear the afo now and it doesn't work so we will be returning the shoes. I would give five stars to all of your products that meet people's requirements with the exception of using an afo. Thank you.

Great wearing boot right out of the box. True fit to size even as I get older and my feet swell, the Terrain Waterproof boot is excellent for the paddock, riding or cleaning out the stall. I hope they never stop making them. The roper is good as well with the same great fit and wear. Can't go wrong with Ariat!
