Good boot if you’re in a warm climate, terribly slippery boots in winter, I live in North Dakota, I have to be extra careful walking to and from job sites with out falling on my butt. Summer time they are a good boot, do not recommend for winter work as I have slipped twice just today and would like another option of boot but hesitant to buy other boots, if they are all slippery soles. I’ve had this pare for 2 winters now and same problem, guess I’m the idiot for keeping them this long

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been looking for work boots that will hold up for everyday work outside and run equipment. I order the overdrive they said take 3to6 weeks, got them in early that was great. The brake in for them is alittle long but goes to show they will be good boots. I would say they run alittle big so I sent one back and order another but it was all good.

I have owned this boot for over two years now. It’s been definitely put to the test as my jobs has changed. This boots seen mud concrete asphalt and other unknowns materials. As my new job is now an hydovac operator this boot spends most days submerged in mud and water. And it’s still going strong.

I have had these boots for a few weeks now after having a pair of Cody James composite toe for only 2 months before I couldn't wear them any more. These boots feel like slippers and are so comfortable. I haven't had them long enough to comment on their ruggedness, but I have enjoyed them thus far.

Decent boot. Bought my regular size after trying on. I didn't anticipate them to stretch as much as they did. I ended up having to purchase another pair a half size smaller for a better fit. They don't stay new looking long.. These are two months old compared to new.

Feb 21, 2021
These boots are the most uncomfortable boots I’ve ever owned. I bought them while was working to restore power out in Iowa and it was the worst mistake I’ve made. They destroyed my feet. My back started hurting everyday until I went back with my good old la sportiva’s that are three years old and wore out and broke down. I use mink oil and bees wax and the leather is still breaking down in less than 6 months. These will not hold up to building power lines

I’m a rail car loader so I’m walking grates, gravel, concrete, mud, water you name it and they held up phenomenally, but I do have to admit you have to get through break in before they are comfortable, but it’s not a super uncomfortable duration, if you have wide feet like me then these are definitely a good consideration for your next boot

The first 2-3 weeks of getting these boots were miserable not going to lie. Now I am in week 4 and they are some of the most comfortable boots I’ve owned now that they are broken in. They are a little warm in September but are going to be perfect now that it’s getting colder. Durability so far they seem like they’ll last longer than 9 months, average lifespan of my other boots.

If your looking for a good boot this is it. The only thing I can say that a little bit negative about them is the are hotter than your average boot. But I would rather be hotter with being waterproof and as supportive as they are.

Very durable work boots. They keep your feet dry and the water out. About every 4-5 yrs I have to replace them. Not because they are no longer comfortable. But because the bottom on the outside become slick. Out of all the different brand of work boots out there. These have lasted me the longest. Shoe laces are a total different story though. Who cares about shoe lace. Love the comfort of these boots especially after the break in is done.

Feb 10, 2024
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second year purchasing this style of boot from Ariat, and this is the best boot of found for my feet and ankles. I have week ankles and have found that lace up boots are worth the extra time it takes in the mornings to not injure my ankles. These last me about a year of working in them 5 to 6 days a week, so the quality is pretty decent.
The two cons I’ve had with them are that the lacing on top is uncomfortable some days, and can dig into the top of your foot at times and that the heel sole is not sturdy and tears up quickly.

Giving these boots 3 stars. What I love about them is that they are very comfortable and waterproof. Heel doesn’t dig into my ankle like other boots have. Love the style and fit. The only down fall I’ve had with these boots were the outsoles. After wearing them the first month the outsole was falling apart. I feel like a single stitched outsole would hold better than the glued on pieces at the bottom. It’s a bummer that with it’s price tag, the part you use most falls apart the fastest.

Let me first start by saying everyone's feet are different and it took me a long time to finally find a pair of boots that worked for me. I bought a pair of these 4 years ago and fell in love with them so after a few months I bought another pair to rotate them out every other week or so. I am on my feet all day in rough terrain and in all kinds of weather. These boot work the best for me. I just bought 2 more pair, They dont last forever but if you take good care of them they will last a few years especially if you rotate them.

These are too narrow in toe. I have worn D width for 20 yrs and never had a pair squeeze toes and rub them raw.

Jul 19, 2023
I absolutely love this boot. The square toe makes it the perfect boot for us people that have wide feet. No real breaking in. Ankles don’t hurt or the top of foot like before when I would break in my prior Ariat’s. The size runs a little big so if you wear a 11 1/2 it’s best to get a size 11 DD. That’s what I did and it fit my foot like a glove (perfection).
The ONLY complaint I have is the boot does get warm inside, but nothing too extreme, and I really wish they made this boot with puncture resistant soles.
I give this boot 9 3/4 stars and it would be a 10 but the soles aren’t puncture resistant. But either way I will be buying this boot in the future.
I work on Navy ships so my line of work is always something for the boots to challenge. And so far so good. Let’s see how they are in 6 months.
Thank you Ariat but PLEASE, PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU think about making these boot puncture resistant.
Thank you for making ALMOST the perfect boot for me.

Aug 14, 2021
They are very uncomfortable, I have been using them for a week and I hurt my right foot, my feet are wide, and that is why I chose the double e boots, but the right boot hurt my foot and the sole is very not soft, if you are standing a lot you you get tired and fatigued a lot since the sole is not very comforting, I definitely do not recommend them I have used other ariat the ENDEAVOR 6 '' style and those were very comfortable

I bought these boots over 6 months ago and they are still going strong I'm in the railroad line of work working on all different Terrains and weather around 60hrs or more a week and so far they have held up strong and are still comfortable I'm going to buy another pair of these boots to have when it comes time to retire the ones i currently are working in I have it 4 out of 5 stars due to the laces didn't last long so I bought the unbreakable Kevlar laces and now my boots should last until I decide to replace them with the same exact ones so yes I will deff buy these boots again

Had them for 5 months and have worn them for 10-12hrs a day 5-6 days a week, and the toe and side protector are peeling off and the sole is falling apart. I'm a heavy equipment mechanic and my boots take a beating but these are junk. Tread started falling off less then a month in and just gone down hill from there. I have several ariat boots but this will be the last ones I buy, they do not hold up to daily abuse and heavy duty enviroments.

Ariat makes good boots, but these have a problem. The arch and tongue are too low. after a few minutes the top of your foot is either numb or in pain.

Jan 15, 2018
I have owned 2 pairs of these boots, and I have worn each set at least 2 years. The boots are rock solid, comfortable, and offer great protection with quality materials. The first set lasted a little longer than the second and i have found that the reinforced plastic patches on the toe, heel, and soul are great for protecting the foot and boot, however, the seams between leather and plastic seem to break down after extended use and compromise water proofing. I have to also agree with other comments that, especially in the beginning, it is difficult to get the boots tight without making creases that rub on your foot, but once broken in they can be tightened and are very comfortable to work in, stand in, and wade through anything that comes your way. The last thing that i will mention is the price. It seems a little excessive however when looking at the years of abuse in the construction and industrial property maintenance and management fields i find that i have received a very high degree of utility out of this product while the actual cost, spread over a minimum of a year and a half of zero issue wear, is actually a reasonable if not meager cost. As mentioned in the title this is just an individual review/opinion. People have different feet, occupations, and requirements out of the products they buy but i hope this helps anyone considering purchasing these boots.

Too tight
Hoonigan
Apr 26, 2024
Great boots... but they have one major issue. They are simply too tight. When I tried these boots on in the store they felt great, but as I broke them in they started to tighten in some areas of my feet. I can't wear them for more than an hour or 2 and they cause severe knee and foot pain after a few hours of wearing them.

Mar 14, 2015
They felt good in the store, but not at work. There is a seam on the tongue that bothers the top of your foot. They are uncomfortable if you stand for long periods of time. It feels like there is no heel, like I am standing flat footed. My heel will also move around when operating an earthmover. I can't tighten them anymore or else the seam in the tongue presses on my foot. Before I bought these I was wearing a chewed up pair of Dr.Martens work boots that offer better support and comfort than these.
Chippewas are equally priced and much better quality and comfort. I have a pair that is 1 year old and still look and feel new. If you like your boots tight, don't buy these. If you don't want to feel like you are standing and walking on your heels, don't buy these.

The work boots are amazing. I wear them 5 to 6 day a week at work. I am a truck driver and I have to climb a ladder to the top of my trailer and tarp my load several times a day. The waterproofing is perfect and the boot breathes surprisingly well. I bought these at a local retailer and I had to try several sizes to get the right one. I would suggest you go to a store and do the same.

Oct 30, 2015
Got these boots despite not liking square toed boots but they are well worth it. The waterproofing is great, yet they breath enough to keep my dry. I gave the boots 4 stars instead of 5 is because the soles dont last the longest and they dont offer good traction on muddy or unimproved surfaces like the great outdoors. So for a boot to only wear at work they are great but for going oit into the woods you'll appreciate a different boot. That said the rubber guards around the boot work to protect against the scuffs and cuts that usually KO boots for me. I always mangle the leather before i have walked through them, but not with these boots. After a year the leather is still serviceable enough to warrant a resole. Im on my feet for 8-12 hours everyday with heavy rolling equipment that squash boots and tear thwm if your not careful bit they hold up the best so for. A heavy duty work boot for heavy and rough job sites.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my Overdrives for over 3 years and they are still my go to boots for demolition, slope work, or anything where in working on the ground. I’m in heavy civil construction and these are the only boots that have my vote for comfort and durability. They take a while to break in, and in A year you might need to replace the insole. But if you work a real job then these will survive tough and long days. If you’re looking for work boots for the weekend or a yard project then crocs may be a suitable choice.

Ariat Work Boots are Simply the Very Best
Ariat Work Boots Review
Jan 18, 2025
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been wearing Ariat work boots exclusively for work for many years. They are, without a doubt, the most comfortable and highest quality footwear I have ever worn. I wear these boots about 8-10 hours daily-they’ve held up through the seasons with no issues whatsoever. I work mostly on my feet 5-6 days a week as a Steamfitter/Welder and Ariat boots are the only boots I will wear.

Great looks, strange sizing
Brian
Jul 31, 2024
The boots are very appealing to me, but the size and fit are problematic. I normally wear a size 9 boot and shoe - my toes are in the right place in the shoe or boot. However, these boots, whether by design or some other way, do not size the same. I ordered size 9 and found those to be clown shoe like, with so much space in front of my toe that the safety feature - the composite toe - did not even cover my toes! I then ordered an 8.5, but the fit was mostly turn same. So I ordered size 7.5 and the boots are the size length, but a bit narrow side to side and top to bottom. They fit, my toes are in the right place, but they are not the most comfortable. There is quite a bit of pressure on the top of my feet, but I am keeping them and will endure an extended break in period of a couple months probably. Just incredible the deviation in size from other footwear. Must be the square toe.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Boot came in before they said. Thats always good.
The boot looks good, the over all look and the feel, feels like it will last along time. The break in time does take a bit for them to form to me seems to me.

Great work boot, break in was difficult

Great work boot, composite toe is necessary for my line of work. I wanted the higher topped boots because I will also be doing a lot of work outside in mud and water. Waterproof is great but only goes up to the ankle, not all the way up the boot which is a downside that I did not know before I purchased. Break in period took about a week to a week and a half. Rough around the ankles, just pull the hard spots out and flex your ankle until they stretch a little bit. Would recommend trying on a pair before ordering online. I wear a 12 tennis shoe and had to buy a 10.5 boot amd fits perfectly. Laces aren't the best but that's an easy fix to get better ones. Overall great boot and very durable.

Breaker maintenance

These boots are the absolute best I have ever owned. I'm a maintenance welder at a coal company and these boots have yet to leak, rip,or anything. Definitely going to be giving ariat all my business from now on.

Broke my ankle a year ago and had to stop wearing my ariat pull on boots. Swapped to these after going through 3 other lace up brands. Just as comfortable as my pull on ariats but with the support I need. Also extremely durable.

boot was great the only concern i had was after having the boots for a couple of days they started to give me a blister in the heal. once they broke in they were better. for the most part they fit good and are comfortable. i would fix the fabric on the heal.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these boots in June and already my feet are getting wet and the bottom tread is coming undone. I don’t do any hard crazy work either just mainly walking since I’m a supervisor. I will never buy these boots again. I would suggest Ariat to take them off the shelf. These pictures of both of my left and right boot. So it’s not a fluk. They are just trash and poorly made. If I hade 10 thumbs they would all be pointing down.

Sizing is very small

I never actually got to wear the boots. I tried to put them on the first time and they were way too small. I wear a EE and they felt like a standard size. Other than that they seemed like a very good boot but like I said I cant confirm anything about them other than the sizing is small. If you wear a wide size these probably wont fit

Not a bad fit except for the nearly 1.5” on extra toe. Feels and looks like I’m wearing clone shoes. Not happy with the product.

NOT for 40 hours on your feet a week use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The only redeeming quality of these boots are the sole.
I've worn them just under 9 months, 9 hours a day 5 days a week. Second day of wear I had to replace the insole because the ones they came with do nothing for comfort and the ball and heels of my feet were screaming. One month in one of the lace hooks snapped off, both laces broke and the side and toe scuff guards fell/peeled off. They were never really water resistant but at three months the leather was soaking up water like a sponge. 4 to 5 months in the stitching on the outter side of the boots started coming apart, letting water in instantly. 6 months and those same stitches have completely fallen apart and there are now wide open seams with my socks poking through on both boots. The only reason I continued to wear them is once I bought new insoles they are somewhat comfortable and the soles still have a year plus left of tread on them. I've never had soles outlast boots before.
inly reason i gave it 2 stars is the soles.
Point is, save your money and buy a different boot. This one is a bust.

Bought these boots straight out to school to go work in the mining industry. Have had these boots for roughly 20 months and wore them non-stop, every day for at least 50 hours a week. These boots have been through it all. Only complaint I had was the boots lost their waterproof abilities around 6 months in. However, I can't blame these boots, as I worked with high explosives for this time period and the oxidizers in the emulsions ate up the sole/ metal parts of the boot. Even after that, the boots still managed to hold together( I'd call them more water "resistant" now). I still wear them today. Love the look and considering buying again(its about time)

I bought these 6 months ago. Within 10 days after purchasing the laces broke. I work in a warehouse and within 6 months all tread has worn down to where they no longer grip the floor and shoes slip and they are supposed to be slip resistant. I aware by Ariat western boots but when it comes to their work boots they definitely need improvement
