I filled these boots full of water twice and wore them around town. One solid blister later and some polish and these boots are as soft as butter. 4 stars only because they don't come in black.

Bought these boots and so glad I did! I have bought Tony Lama work boots for 5 years until this year when I decided to try these! Extremely comfortable and wears great, even passes for a dress boot when I don't have time to change after work (just rinse them off), I water-proofed mine. Tough boot for a guy who works concrete construction and does foundation work!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had these for about a year and they’re really nice work boots about 70% of the time, the fit is pretty standard for boots (.5 size too big) and break in took about three weeks. My only issue is that the outsole is terrible in the cold, around 30 degrees it gets hard as a rock and becomes very slippery even just on frost covered chip seal. It was -15 with a quarter inch of snow last week and I would have rather had a pair of Chuck Taylors while trying to load out of the job site. Otherwise they have been doing pretty well for the amount of abuse I’ve been putting them through.

I normally wear a size 13W in shoes but in boots a size 14EE fits me better. I just need to break them in.

I have had my boots for about 3 or 4 weeks now got them broke in and noticed some of the stitching is already coming apart the boots are comfortable but they now wont keep my feet dry when i am caught in the rain i am a mechanic and get caught in the rain often

This is my second pair of Cascades from Ariat. I really, really wanted to give 5 stars in my review. Sadly, the best I can do is 4.5 stars. The positive first. 1. This look great straight out of the box. 2. The fit is dead on. Order your normal boot size! Seriously, this fit me with my orthotics and work socks without having to stretch the boot. 3. The toe box, if your anything like me, and have to order wide width boots, the toe box is never big enough. These are big and roomy, without being clown shoes. Now, why I felt I had to knock them. 1. They sit differently then my round toe Cascades. When I lace these up I have to be extremely aware of my metatarsal bones. The lacing sits crossed directly on the metatarsal in the square toes. So I have to lace tight, loose over the metatarsal, then super tight the rest of the way up to prevent nasty heel slippage. 2. Heel slippage. These just sit differently, and as such took about 2 months of break in to not give me blisters and hotspots. 3. Minor inconveniences: the speed hooks started to rotate when I'm lacing them up. The 3/4 leangth tounge eats up alot of shaft area. Takes me longer to get in and out of these then the round toe version. 4. Lastly, and this is an almost universal thing for me. The kettle guards from Ariat, they are at most the bottom lace and 1 hole up. So they don't give the extra support to the rest of the boot. So, over all I do recommend this, and the round toe version. I work as an Agricultural Inspector, and am in standing water, mud, wet plants, chemicals, etc... daily. My feet stay dry (Leather treatment every 4 months (leather conditioner every 2 weeks). They give great ankle support, and protection to the foot. Oh, and I do replace the laces with Kevlar laces ASAP so I only burn through 1 pair of laces a year on my boots.

They rubbed the back of my heels and I waited for them to heal over time— then I noticed my heels are messed up and bone deformity.

The 8 inch lace up cascade Alamo brown steel toe wide very durable last weekend. I walked 50 miles in them and they’re kind of uncomfortable. I walked the 50 miles to break them in but no matter how how much I tighten them. They’re loose in an area right below the 8 inch lace lace up and they’re too tight down at the bottom above the above the toes and no matter how much I tighten them down. It’s still kind of just loosen area even though they’re the correct size of my toes are where they need to be. They just the boots don’t don’t tighten tighten down well, and on the left kind of rubs above the Achilles heel normally wear the same boots without the steel boots I can do them. I can run them. I can hit the treadmill. I can be in the gym. I can cook. I can clean if they’re like a pair of tennis shoes to me and these these boots just close but no cigar.

Overall want to give these a great review; look great, and fit great. Honestly, thought I found my new favorite pair of boots. I've had them less than 30 days and only wore them around the garage and to mow the yard, knelt down on the concrete and when I stood up noticed a spot on the toe that wore through the outer layer. My previous boots I had for 4 years and did much more rigorous work in without ever having this issue. Very dissappointed to say the least.

I bought these boots a month and they are working perfect for what I need. After they are broken in they are very comfortable.

I received these in a very short time period after I placed the order, they are always quick in this area. Once I got them I applied a treatment of heavy duty spray silicone which darkened them up to a perfect shade for working around the animals and equipment not showing as much staining /marking. No break in period required and have been wearing them daily doing chores & going to town; very comfortable glad I got them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me start by saying this is the first time I go Ariat for work boots and I have been happy so far with my choice. I live in northern Utah in a warehouse capacity and I wear these all day with no problems. I'm currently on week 3 and the boots are starting to break in. At first they feel stiff around the toe crease but once they start breaking in it goes away. It's currently snowing and the boots have held up very well. Traction is great. I feel very secure with my footing. I pair these with a good set of boot socks and I'm good to go. I'd definitely buy these again but I'm curious to see what else Ariat has to offer first :)

My husband loves his work boots. He also rides his horses in them. They are standing up to the test he puts them through daily.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my square toe Cascades about two weeks. Normally I wear in tennis shoes a 10 or 10W, ordered 9.5W and the fit is just right. Break in was unpleasant, took about a three mile lap at a large zoo and a couple days of work (wear thick socks and maybe bring a couple bandaids). The boots look really good, are easy to put on, and comfortable to stand, sit, or walk in. One of the few lace up square toe options on the market.

Bought these in January. Overall an ok pair of boots.

Good looking boot, and began to get comfortable after break in, but as someone else wrote there is something in the way the toe box bends that crushes my big toe on the right foot. Unfortunately makes them unwearable especially for a full day of work. They seem pretty durable, was hoping to wear these for some time to come but after a couple weeks it looks like I’m going to have to just donate them since they’re not returnable

While i love this boot . It could use a little more padding in the bottom . So i pulled out the original insole and put in a Ridgecut boot insole which are really the thickest out there among boots. Problem solved !

By far the best pair of work boots I've owned. I hike Utility right of ways all day and they definitely hold up great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shank in the back of the Achilles heel really digs into the Achilles hill only on one boot the boots fit good other than that it’s almost a perfect boot, except for the fact that they don’t tighten down all the way when I tie my boots up and I lace up. It’s still kind of loose back there above that shank and it’s just too low. It needs to be higher or it needs to not be there. Maybe a softback would be better but it’s just rubbing up against my Achilles hill and it’s blistering pretty bad. I walked 50 miles in my boots to break them in and it’s still doing it.
