A son of Italian immigrants, Tony Lama was born in 1887. By age 11, Tony Lama had embarked on his training in the boot industry as an apprentice to a shoemaker in Syracuse, New York. There, Tony Lama learned about leathers and the boot trade. Post turn of the century, Tony Lama went to work for the U.S. Cavalry as a cobbler for the soldiers of Fort Bliss, Texas. When his service was complete, he relocated to the nearby town of El Paso. Having learned first hand from the soldiers the great importance of a good fitting boot, Tony Lama wanted to create the best fitting, most comfortable boot possible. And that he did. While Tony Lama and his small shop still devoted a good amount of time to boot repairs, word began to spread throughout the Southwest about Tony Lama's cowboy boots. Ranchers and cowboys came from far and wide – joining the cavalrymen already patronizing his business – bringing hides and asking for custom made Tony Lama boots. In his first year, Tony Lama and an assistant cobbler made twenty pairs of Tony Lama boots. After the army phased out soldiers on horseback, Tony Lama concentrated exclusively on making cowboy western boots. To keep up with demand, Tony Lama fashioned inventive ways to produce more boots without sacrificing the important steps in handcrafting cowboy boots. In 1961, almost 50 years from the time Tony Lama opened his first store, the Tony Lama Boot Company moved to larger headquarters and began making 750 pairs of cowboy boots a day! After Tony Lama died in 1974, his sons and daughters continued the Tony Lama heritage of quality handcraftsmanship, making the Tony Lama family's story a real American success story. In 1990, Tony Lama Boot Company joined the Justin Boot family. Together, Justin and Tony Lama set the standard for cowboy boot quality and craftsmanship the world over. The Tony Lama legacy – created by a humble cobbler who became a hard working entrepreneur with staunch pride in his craft – lives on in the Tony Lama Boot Company today.

The minute I put them on at the store they were very comfortable, with two exception's, the Boots run 1 full size small, I normally wear an 11 D and a size 12 D fit me and the second thing, the left boot was a little tight in the upper arch and is breaking in very well, other than that they are fine. Soon after I put them on they feel like slippers, the left arch is still breaking in, but I only wear them a few times a wek, I still love the fit and the comfort of Tony Lama.I bought a pair of Justin Deer hide too, but do not come close to the comfort of my Tony Lama Ostrich. I will be buying another pair of either full quill Ostrich or Camen this year. I am very pleased with the sales person, He wanted me to have the right boot with the right fit before I left the store. I am a very satisfied shopper, thanks again Shlepers , great job.

Been on line for six months making up my mind about my first pair of Cowgirl Boots. Finally went to an actual Sheplers store. I'm glad I did. The Boots I picked were exactly what I wanted, especially the color. On the web they looked pretty much brown, but in person...they are a beautiful sienna with the redness just standing out. Put them on in the store, went straight to a party and they felt like I had worn them forever. People stop me on the street and while shopping and tell me how much they admire my Boots. I always wear a 7.5, but got 8.0 since I want to wear warm socks and the fit is perfect!

I picked up a pair of these and they were very comfortable and nice looking. I normally wear a 11 shoe; however, the size 12 fit me perfectly. The top section and heal of my 4-piece boot had a full quill look; however, the sides were smooth as pictured. I loved them, but ended up returning them due to a tear near sticthing in the shaft. I could not find a replacement in my size so I ended up swapping for a Luchesse 1883 full quill pair for another big bill. I wore these around the house for 15 minutes and my feet were in pain and returned them. I next purchases a Tony Lama full quill ostrich boot with the Lama Comfort Technology and they felt as terrible on my feet as the Luchesse 1883s. Ultimately I found a full quill pair of Tony Lama, Boots in peanut brittle color, (model CZ800 from an online retailer listed on Tony Lama's website) that were equipped just like these (comfort technology insole / Z toe) and have to say they feel great on my feet! If you can find these in your size and with a nice looking arrangement of ostrich skin, by all means go for it!

These Boots are attractive and the price is even better. If you want exotic but you are in a budget, get these Boots, they will be a nice addition to your collection without breaking the bank.
The quality of the Boots is "good" but not great. These must be Tony Lama's cheapest or more affordable exotic boot model. It's not that the Boots look cheap or anything like that but I have seen better. I will definitely recommend these Boots, they are great value if you want exotic and they seem well made.
If you order these, order 1/2 size larger than your normal wear and go for the EE width. If that width is not available then order 1 full size larger. These Boots run small and narrow. I was happy with the Boots but I had to return them because they did not fit properly.
