Stetson History

I bought this hat to have an alternative to ball caps that is a little country and a little bit rock and roll. The hat is a little bit big for me; I measured my head right before buying so that shouldn't be a problem. In any case I love the hat and will enjoy it for many years to come.

I have the pleasure and the joy of having one of these hat's, I wear it nearly every day and have been for the last 15 months. I wear it in nearly every type of weather one get's here in the Highlands of Scotland, which can be every season in just one day! I have never ever had a problem with it, it has not faded, it is real comfortable to wear, it sits on my head real good and when ( which is not very often lately) the sun is shining, it shades my eyes really good. I ride my horse a lot in the Scottish High country and this hat is perfect for this. I would also add that it is very well made and stands nearly everything that is thrown at it. I am going to get another one later this year and I DO NOT buy rubbish.

This hat is very nice! Had mine now for six months and love it. The Africa sun is not for the feint harted and this hat lives up to its name.
It is a perfect fit and looks very nice too. My only comment is that when it is realy hot and sweaty outside, the hat tends to fall off while riding my horse. Again, the hat fits perfect its just the leather lining on the inside gets slippery with sweat and it is then when I get de-hatted LOL.
Even though this is the case, I will recommend it to anyone interested in this hat!

I bought this hat from Sheplers in September of 2010 because the weather down here can git pretty crazy an it'll git real cold real fast. It keeps my head nice an cozy in the cold an snowy climate an it looks great! I love this hat! The only problem I had with it was shaping it to my liking. I did accomplish doing it but it took ALOT of steam. Which isn't a bad thang. That jus goes to show how rugged this hat is. An I git all kinds of hollers from the ladies, which, in my single state, ain't a bad thang. I love it! Git it!

I bought this hat figuring to use it for an everyday "beater" because of the low price. I was really surprised at the quality of the hat. You come to expect quality from Stetson but there's still the "get what you pay for" factor.
Because it is such a nice, well made hat it has come to be one of my favorites. I still use it for everyday wear where anything can happen to the hat, from bad weather to being knocked off my head and hitting the ground before I can pick it up. It's holding up very well and I get all kinds of compliments on it.
This is the kind of western hat that you expect to see a western man wearing as part of his normal attire. I can't afford to be running through $200+ Hats when what I need is protection from the sun and weather and this hat fits the bill very well.
Mine ran just a bit large so at first I shimmed the sweatband a little but later I bought a hatband and snugged it up as tight as I could. That was just enough to get it to fit perfectly and incidentally "dressed up" an already fine looking hat. I also steamed it and shaped it myself to get it looking just the way I want. If you're not familiar with the process you're better off going to the local western store and having them do it for you.
So what I've got in this hat is a great looking piece of gear that I'm glad to wear every day, but if it gets blown off of my head and swept away by the river or trampled to bits in a corral or a crowd I won't shed any tears over the financial loss. I really hope they bring this hat back in stock because if they do, I'll buy another to put away for a backup when this one meets it's inevitable fate.

I had a 5 year old hat that was less than $50.00. It just was time for a new one. This hat is excellent. A real classic cowboy look. Nice and firm so it will hold it's shape. The color is more of a tannish grey, which matches everything. The fit was perfect using the sizing chart. This hat is really well made and the two times I have worn it, just got it 2 weeks ago, I have received multiple compliments. It is a keeper and look forward to many years of use. BUY THIS HAT!

The sizing for this hat was spot on. It fit perfectly right out of the box. It is very comfortable to wear and I get lots of compliments on it. Take note that the hat is slightly darker than represented in the picture (and it is the picture, not my monitor as I have viewed in on more than one computer). I would also recommend not wearing it in the rain/snow, while it says it is water resistant it did receive some slight discoloration in a couple spots after wearing it briefly in a light drizzle. Highly recommend this hat. Delivery was also very fast, even though it was ordered over New Year's weekend.
