These half boots are great. They feel broken in from the moment you first put them on. Size is perfect, for me at least. They are not as stylish as the Goatskin zipper boots from the same Abilene company, but you won't be disappointed. Great fit, supple leather, good looks.

I got these boots because I like cowboy boots and I also prefer to wear skinny jeans. These are the perfect boot for that, with indie mod cred, some cool detail and the leather distresses nicely to give them that vintage look. I got them in Chocolate Brown, and the colour looks a tiny bit different from the pictures. They can look a little on the burgundy side of chocolate brown but that's not a problem. They look great with black skinnies as well as light blue denim. I got a size 12D because I have pretty large feet. To fit into normal cowboy boots with a shaft (without a shoehorn) I have to get size 13D and insert heel grips and an insole. With the zip I was able to get a 12D which then looks sleeker. Very cool!

wear these mostly on the weekend. had to put orthotic foot pads in them and now they feel great. leather does not like the photo. it's very soft lightweight and not that shiney. they look cool and are made in USA. got a great deal from sheplers so the price was right. only wish the quality of the leather was a higher grade. no worries i still rock out with these as the comfort is my main concern.

The inner liner of man-made material irritates the right ankle bone. I'm having a local shoe shop correct the problem. I also recommended SHEPLERS as a reliable source for zipper boots to a friend of my father; he already bought a pair, and wants a second before they become harder to find.

Coolest boots I've ever owned. Comfortable out of the box. Tons of compliments—from some fairly discerning critics lol. Don't buy em though! I don't want everyone else sporting my boots!

Exactly what I was looking for. Am eighty years old and have worn western boots all my life but had to change to shoes because my boots were getting too hard to pull on. With this purchase I am now able to wear boots again and get them on easily and off without using a boot jack.

These boots are amazing! The fit is perfect! They have great style and I was able to wear them on the first day without any pain or breaking them in time!!!

The first day I wore them I received several compliments on how good they looked. There was virtually no "break in " required, they were comfortable from the start. I showed them to my Son and the first thing he did was put them. Said how much he liked the soft letter and could he borrow them? I told him to by his own!

I have a crushed left ankle and that is why I must wear a boot with a zipper. I only wish that someone would make a western boot with a 10 or 12 inch top with a zipper. I know it can be done because I have seen them in the long ago. The boots are well built. A little pricey but that is expected today. The boots are quite nice and really fit good and tight. That helps support my bad ankle. Thanks.

I purchased these boots as a birthday for my husband in late July. While they did arrive quickly, I was TERRIBLY disappointed in the quality of the boot. They looked used, had a few scuffs on the heel, and looked cheap. I had my husband try them on to ensure sizing was okay if I should reorder and they ran small. I was not happy with this purchase and because of it, I was left without a gift to give my husband on his birthday. Poor planning on my part for sure, but I would not order these boots. Currently working on my refund now.

I have wore the Abilene Western Wingtip Zipper boots several times and they get more comfortable each time I wear them, I love the side zipper as I have a hard time with my high top (regular) cowboy boots. I would like a light work boot with the same features but with a more rugged outer leather as these are too beautiful to work in. From hence forth I will buy all my boots from Sheplers as I purchased another brand from a local store before these and I was very disappointed in them and will not make that mistake again.

Love wearing these boots I think the zipper boots are the way to go for putting on and removing....

Good quality and fit, very pleased with the purchase. A little stiff as new requires a break-in period.

I loved opening the box and seeing exactly what I was after. Wore them the first day and on the bus home a woman wanted to know what stunk. My shoes had a barn leather aroma. I'm part to blame from the sweaty feet, but none of my shoes which I rotate come anywhere near. Then the inside heal piece slides with daily walking. Second time wearing them, I now feel the nails tugging at my socks in the heals. Real shame is, I was so happy when I got them I order another, different design, and here I am again. won't buy anymore or recommend them to my worst enemy, well maybe.

This is my third pair of this style of Abilene boots I now own. The boots hold up for years. I still have my two other pairs. Also they are made in the USA at reasonable prices.

These were my first pair of ankle-height boots, and I was pleased with the fit and appearance. The shaft is softer than the typical stiff leather of cowboy boots. This makes them comfortable and easy to put on. Size as expected. The wingtip toe makes for a nice combination of dressy and western.

Dress ware. Comfortable right out of the box. Break in time not needed soft and great fit.

This is my 4th pair of these I bought. They are comfortable, fit nice and very long lasting. They have a tough, thick rubber sloe. A little high on the price but worth it.

my boots were to tight and i wondered why unti i read the side of the box...apparently a 12E (which I ordered) is a 12D in CANADA and so I actually got a 12D....so TOO tight and waste of time....need to let your customers know of size difference
