Footwear Sizing: Half Size Too Big

I am hard on boots so I need something that will hold up to all kinds of conditions in and out of the saddle. I love a tall boot to ride in and I am particularly pleased that these are narrow through the shaft and generous across the instep so I can wear heavy winter socks with them. I would have ordered them a half size smaller, but these were the smallest available in men's sizes and I usually wear woman's boots. Hopefully the sole will hold up to barn yard acids, so fingers crossed. I actually prefer these boots to my much more expensive Lucchese boots.

As yet it's undetermined how well these will wear but if it's even close to the one'sd I've been wearing it will be quite a bargain. I put in about 6 to 8 hours a day riding and doing ground work, we'll see how well they hold up. New style for me but I really like them so far.
