Good for treating distressed leather. Will darken the coloration. Apply lightly. I usually apply with a limp brush, and wipe off immediately. Do not use on nubuck or suede.

Good boots need taking care of , cleaned & conditioned on a regular basis. Scout is a long time trusted product for us.

By the name I thought this was a product for new boots with the distressed leather look. The directions for use seem to indicate the product is for restoring boots that have had a hard life and are badly scuffed.

I purchased the Scout Distressed Leather Conditioner for my Justin Bay Apache boots. I applied the conditioner to the boots as directed on the bottle, but having not used the product before, i only applied a minimal amount of conditioner to the boots. The boots immediately turned a darker color than original, making the boot a solid brown and hiding the original multi-tone grain of the distressed leather. Thinking it was because the boots were wet from the conditioner I brushed them as directed on the bottle. Afterwards the boots were still darker and i gave it more time to dry but two days later the boots are still a lot darker brown then original. I am waiting a few more days to see if the boots lighten up.

It's hard to find distress leather protection products. But Scout Conditioner is a necessity if you want your boots to continue looking great! 30-45 minutes and you're ready to go.

Good product, but I lost most of it during shipping!
The cap on the bottle was loose during shipping, so the product spilled all over and only half was left in the bottle (the seal on the bottle did nothing to prevent spillage since the whole cap was off). I rubbed what remained onto my distressed goat boots and let dry. I then took a cloth to them the next day to shine them up a bit. Great for the leather on my Justin boots!! Though I didn't take take them up on it, Sheplers offered to replace the opened bottle for free.
