I don't where all the bad reviews are coming from but this vest has no smell and fit me fine(XXL). The leather is super soft and first time I wore it in public everyone asked where I purchased it. Cannot wait to wear it again.

Vest is of great quality and fits like a dream. We ordered these for our country wedding and received tons of compliments from all. The guys were excited because they can also wear this great vest with their Harley's. Awesome price compared to other catologs and stores.

Rec'd this item on a Saturday in the mail. I opened up right away and was taken aback by the odor of the vest. It was hang in my entryway with a slightly open window. A week later it still has a lingering odor. It has not yet been worn, so am hoping with time it will get better.
Nice full leather back, fits well for the size.
Aside from the smell, this is a nice full leather vest.

This was the first time I'd ordered anything from Sheplars and, as an international customer, I wasn't sure how easy it would be. I needn't have worried. The item was delivered within 5 days of ordering to my home in the UK and was exactly as I had expected from the online description. Great service and good value. I'll be shopping with Sheplars again.

nice quality. sizing is way off. i ordered a mens 2XXL and it is about the size of a womens XL.

I ordered a medium, it fit more like an extra large. After I spent more money than the vest itself is worth getting it tailored, it's now too small but since it's leather, it's the best the person could do. There are no other tailors less than a 2 hour drive away that work on leather so now I'm stuck with a useless vest.
It would have cost more to replace it than just buy another one with the shipping costs. Wouldn't have mattered anyway since they don't offer a small size.

I purchased a pair of brown leather boots from Sheplers back before Christmas, but after ordering and paying, I received notice they had been placed on back order, and promised to be delivered, in January, they've since been bumped up to April....But Non The Less, I've been hunting me a Brown Leather Vest to go with these YET TO BE DELIVERED boots, and when I recently caught this vest on sale, I jumped on it! After receiving the vest, my first impressions were....Even though my wife says the "Brown" leather looks a little more like a "Cordivan" color to her, I personally think the vest has the "Look" of a quality vest that seems to be put together well. The leather is real soft and suptle, the feel of which reminds me of a lambskin jacket I own. Having owned several leather vest in my lifetime, for a vest that was originaly priced at more than $100, it should have been a bit heavier weight, and could stand to be made from a little thicker leather....Thus the reason for a 4 star rating, But, At The Price I Paid On Sale ($49.99) I was thrilled, Being Straight About Things, If $49.99 Would Have Been The Everyday Price, I Would Have Given It 5 Stars, But If I Would Have Paid $100, I Would Have Felt Swindled..... BOTTOM LINE, IT'S A VERY NICE VEST AT THE $49.99 SALES PRICE!!!
