I was very disappointed however that as I ordered from UK , I still had to pay £78. extra for import,duties & brokerage fees before UPS would give me the items!. This is a good looking hat BUT I have found the head area to be a little ''low'' it feels like it is going to fall off. It might be to big for me? March 23, 2012

Will rain hurt this hat?

I recently made this hat my first. Traveled over an hour to get to the store in Mesa, AZ and forgot to ask the very important question...if I happen to get caught in the rain will it turn out to be bad news for this hat?

Answer: 
Straw hats (from any manufacturer) are made from natural fiber and don't do well in the rain. They can lose shape and outright collapse. If you must wear your straw hat in the rain, consider a hat raincover:
