I have been shopping st Shepler's since the '60's/70's and have always been impressed by the quality and range of western wear they offer, along with their excellent customer service and shopper friendly return policy. In all honesty, I have no negative comments regarding the store, goods or service and highly recommend to anyone who asks and some who do not.
I have several bolo ties dating back to the '70's and saw this one online at Sheplers.com liked the stone and photo and ordered it immediately. Upon receiving and examining, the stone is very nice indeed, the cord well done and the tips very solid. The problem I have is that the setting that holds the stone undercuts every other positive aspect of the tie. While everything else about the tie is solid, the setting is cheap, almost feels like tin, flimsy and has no place holding and presenting the natural beauty of the stone itself. It is for this reason and this reason alone that I will be sending it back to Shepler's this week for a refund.

The stone in this tie is absolutely gorgeous--there's no quibbling with that. However, the material in which it's set is thin, shiny, and cheap-looking, and the cord is a rubbery-feeling synthetic rather than leather. It's especially disappointing considering the high quality and beauty of the stone.

My experience is that a Western-cut suit is not complete without a bolo tie, and this one is elegant without being gaudy. Every one is different, being polished stone, but I expected that and found mine to be just right.

Husband is a rock-hound and really likes this.
The colour is great and goes with most things.
We have a piece of pink and black jasper stone , and it is nice to see a piece all shined up.

Got it as a gift. Not sure on how durable it is, but it's a nice color and a good shade to wear with anything.
I also got the Tigereye and the turquoise dyed howlite and I returned those 2 and kept this one.
This one was a decent size for a guy and the other 2 I thought were too small.
