Rated 2 out of 5 by Pinocchio I returned the boots
Boots were uncomfortable so I returned them. I would not recommend these boots to anyone. They look good but are not comfortable.

i love these shoes! i broke them in on a weekend in san francisco and really walked all over the place! i had read the reveiws that they were slippery so i bought some of the traction pads at a shoe store for them. no problems. i'll be wearing them again this weekend with a dress this time to a casino and i know i'll look great and be comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DogsMom Great Period Style Boot
Style does run small as noted in description, but it is an excellent period style boot. I like the lacing rather than speed hooks as hooks catch in my petticoat trim, comfortable not too tall heel. I wear them dancing and for costuming (Victorian and Steampunk). Sole is very slick so take that into account when first wearing them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by stepping These boots are unique, sharp looking, and the most comfortable supportive boot I've ever worn- even on the first wearing! I was looking for something different from the usual western dance boot for group dancing and these fit just what I was looking for. They were like walking on black ice when I first tried them on - very slick on the bottom-so I wore them for general wear a few times which took care of that. The only thing negative I can say is they are difficult to put on and you will really have to loosen the strings far down the front to get your foot in and out. I ordered an extra 1/2 size larger as advised which is needed. It's a real plus that they are made in the USA.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SteampunkLady Nice boots
I was happy to find these boots online for a victorian/steampunk costume. I am happy with the purchase overall, but I will say the leather is not as pretty as the picture online. They are slighlty narrow even though I ordered half a size larger than I usually wear based on other reviews. The heel is separating a little at the very back after one weekend of wear. I hope it doesn't get any worse.

I found that the Victorian Boots to be suprising very comfortable I say that because I generally take a wide fit, yes you can really dance in these boots or wear them to the office I'm very happy with my Victorian Boots!
Shepelers runs true to their discription of this particular boot as with all their items they have on to offer.

Rated 5 out of 5 Good fit for wide foot
I needed some boots for a Victorian dancing group and found these for a decent price. Other reviews sounded promising so I bit the bullet and bought a pair. So far I've been pleased; I have a wide foot and the leather is supple enough to accommodate my feet. The heel is placed in such a way as to be comfortable to stand on for long periods of time and not leave my toes in pain.
Please note that, like other reviewers have pointed out, the soles are extremely slick. I wore them on concrete for an afternoon, which helped tremendously, but out of the box they're as good as skis.
The quality is there, they fit good (follow their sizing guide and you'll do fine), and they look awesome.

I adore these boots! As the Sheplers website says, they do run a size small, which was wonderful for me because the size 6 boots fit my size 5 feet perfectly. I have been searching for an accurate Victorian boot, a real, non-costume shoe, for a while, and these fulfill that role excellently. Very comfortable with nice arch support and extraordinarily supple leather - like a paddock boot, but prettier. I wear these under jeans, with skirts and/or tights, and would highly recommend them to anyone seeking a vintage but wearable look.

by magpie63 Comfortable, beautiful boots!
These boots have a really authentic Victorian look -- and they're very comfortable! I ordered them to go with a costume, but I intend to wear them frequently. They do run a little small, but not a whole size. I typically wear an 8, and I ordered them in a 9 -- which was way too big. The 8 1/2 was perfect for me. I added gel insoles. A great pair of boots for everyday wear or to go with any Victorian-style costume!
