bought 6 pairs of wranglers, but went back to levi's. they are costlier, but the deeper pockets and cut make them my choice. make sure you get the right size, sheplers wouldn't take back 2 pairs of levi's that were the wrong size after they were washed.

Been wearing Levi 517 stretch for years. Recieve many compliments and inquiries about where I purchased. I'm constantly accused of ironing my jeans because of the permanent crease and have been given the nickname "Crease" by my motorcycle group.
Have not been able to find these jeans anyplace but Sheplers.
Definitly recommend. Good fit and great with boots.

I am a lifeguard and rescue diver, and LIVE in these Levis and in Water. Levis 517 have great construction and fit, which only improves when they are broken in -- in water.
My 517's never see a washing machine nor dryer - and always maintain the same dependable, rugged 'swim-fit', as though they have memory.... and this is due to the way I break them in.
First, I buy my waist size or a little more snug. Then, I add 2" to the length to allow for draw-up and shrinkage and tapered them to a 13.5 inch leg opening so they fit like men's 512 used to.
All this creates a slim fit, snug/tight dive jean that is slightly stretchy and molds to your body to become your second skin in water -- and when worn dry. And, they retain their great fit and awesome good looks.
Levis 517 are dependable water gear -- especially in open water and protect you from cuts, scrapes and stings, and excessive sun. Pair them with a lycra rash guard top or neoprene top and you have the famous "Top and Levis'. When it warms up, you can remove your top and swim in just your 517s and fins.
And, they are essential poolside, too ... when I have pool deck duty, I wear can wear them with a sport coat or golf shirt for meetings -- but ditch the shirt and coat and dive into the deep end for a quick rescue or an assist.
Levis 517's versatility keep you fully prepared to do water rescue in an instant - no more 'suiting up' which wastes valuable time. And, in water they move with you - you can do pike dives and flip turns with ease. These provide good athletic support (guys - you know what I mean), good muscle support, and prevent muscle vibration which can result in leg cramps. Amazingly, the serge in Levis' denim funnels water over your body for faster swim times.... your second skin.
All of the above I can attest to. Needless to say, I learned to swim ind lifeguard in Levis as essential gear.... and wear them constantly.
Wear these dry and you'll have the same great fit as in water. Be safe; swim hard and dive deep.

My husband has bought this same jean/style/size for YEARS as he is slim and these (used to) fit. We bought 2 pair recently and they are AWFUL. They are loose, baggy, very little stretch, and the denim is DIFFERENT - more like another brand rather than the Levis we are used to. He has tried to salvage them by boiling them to try to shrink them. They may be wearable, but still don't fit properly.
Needless to say we are very disappointed and now have to start looking again for a jean that actually fits.

Product does not stretch they way I expected, very uncomfortable. I am not happy with these at all.

They are softer and have a relex fit with out being bagge the Cotten and 34% Polyester fell confortable and are 14oz weight just .8oz under the stiff regular 517. I think this is a better buy for the Money
