Contemporary meets vintage in a fine way to become the Lucchese 1883 ranch hand western boot. This poignant Lucchese boot features a burnished ranch hand leather foot under a 13" matching leather shaft. Medium toe profile. 1 1/2" underslung boot heel. Single stitched full welt.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Quality control issues. As these boots were being imported into the EU it was necessary to pay custom duties in addition to the purchase price. Therefore the boots could be considered expensive. Before purchasing the boots I had read a number of reviews which were positive and the boots looked good. When they arrived they fitted well and were comfortable. However after a few days I noticed that when standing on a flat surface the heel just did not feel right and that there was a squelching sound before the ball of the foot settled into position on the ground. On checking I found that when the heel of the boot is standing on a flat surface the sole of the boot is almost a half of an inch in the air. As this was a quality control issue, as distinct from a fit issue, I had not checked for this before I wore the boots outdoors. I had not expected quality control issues from Lucchese. Alas when I discovered the problem it was now too late. I could not return the boots in the condition that they had arrived and the cost of the return postage would have been excessive. I am very disappointing. April 24, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5 by Not great Not the same quality as some of the other Lucchese boots that i have purchased - May 21, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by One word: Excellent This is my 3rd pair of Lucchese boots and I still agree with the claim that "nothing fits like a Lucchese boot." I've worn many boots over the years and Lucchese is worth the extra money. These boots in particular are some of the finest leather I've ever worn. As always, they were snug at first with a loose heel and within an hour, they had conformed to my feet and got perfect. As an aside, I got my wife to spring for her first Luccheses this week and now she's as much of a goner as I am. February 5, 2012

    Answer:
Lucchese has been known to be true to street shoe sizing. I have only had trouble with the calf on a D sized boot in the 1883 line up. If you order your regular street shoe size then the boot should fit nicely. Also note that a proper fit boot should be a bit snug, not cutting off circulation snug to be broken in so they fit like a "pair of slippers". I have noticed that Justin can run a bit narrow in the foot and have gotten the next wider size.

    Answer:
There is no true answer to this question, it is variant to the wear and tear of how you treat these boots and what activities you do in them. If you are on a farm then they may not last as long if you wear them of the street or indoors most of the time. In general the soles should last if worn everyday and or night 6 months, check with manufacturer as to what guidelines they have for sole and heel wear. These may not be a covered item as for a warranty since like stated before your daily wear and tear can vary person to person and situation to situation of wear.

    - Frisco, TX, USA I am the one that asked that question and i wore mine daily but wasn't really walking much as i was a bus driver at the time and the got a hole in the bottom of one boot and the other is wore thin.i sit and drive more than i am walking and they lasted less than 6 months heel looks new still Lucchese says it is normal wear on them i find 6 months kind of ridiculous as i had a pair of cheap($10) ones bought back in the 70's that lasted over 5 years and the sole was still fine rest of one boot was tore up by my German Shepard

    Answer:
It depends on how often you wear your boots and for what purpose. For extend the life, make sure you clean them well and take care of them. A Boot Sole & Heel Dressing Polish will restore a "new" look to the soles and heels of your well-worn boots. That may be something to consider.

    Answer:
If you are wearing them on the ranch then just rush off the dirt daily and then use a leather conditioner every month or couple months depending on how much rain you get in your area. Otherwise, you can use your favorite shoe polish and leather conditioner. Do not forget if wearing out in rain or mud to get a water repellent added to them. I also recommend once receiving them to place the water repellent immediately unless they are a manufacturer drop ship to you. The water repellent only lasts 2 or 3 months after application and should be reapplied accordingly. Also note that the water repellent can also darken a lighter tone leather slightly so test it in an inconspicuous area.
