Rated 5 out of 5�by windsurf we're talkin' some superb boots right here these black laredo concho harness boots are the bomb love 'em to death wore them to work and everyone asked where i got them received more compliments on these boots than i did on my new mercedes not only do they look really great but they are also super comfortable i did order the wide boot size as the standard is too narrow for me despite the fact that my foot really is not that wide may be the shape of the boot toe which is pointed takes away from the toe box area necessitating the wide size once one finds their correct size future ordering is no problem because i have found excellent consistency in shepler products regardless of the brand January 10, 2013

How wide can the top be stretched for larger calves?

I can't find a women's boot wide enough at the top, so looking at men's sizes. My normal shoe size is 9.5 WW. I'm about to start horseback riding lessons and want to have a good pair of boots and these seem like a great pair.

When stretching the pops of boots they can only give a little. Men's boots are generally wider on top because they have wider calves than women to begin with. Even women's boots can be stretched on top to accommodate the foot, they can be stretched before and after having the seam cut, which is located on the rim or scallop of the boot top. The shoemaker will first stretch the boot without cutting the seam first, if the seam does not give enough they can cut it and a lot more can be stretched to fit.

Shaft circumference will vary for all boot sizes. It is difficult to determine actually what size the shaft circumference will be.
Please keep in mind that you can stretch the shaft of the boot if it feels tight.
