    This kids’ cowboy hat is perfect for dress up, working on the ranch, or riding in the arena! Cowboy hat features a vented 4" cattleman crease hat crown and 3 1/2" hat brim. Comfortable cloth hat sweatband. To measure a child’s hat size, wrap a tape measure around the head 1/2" above the ears and across the forehead. Compare that measurement to the "sizes in inches" listed below. If you are unsure of head measurement, it is best to order big. If the hat size you purchase is slightly larger than needed, foam hat tape can be inserted under the sweatband to provide a better fit. Sizes in inches: M(19 7/8"-20 1/4"), L(20 3/4"-21 1/8"), XL(21 1/2"-21 7/8").

Who knew that ordering a hat online that could not be tried on before purchasing would be the perfect fit?!?! The soft elastic band inside allows this hat to fit perfectly!! June 5, 2013

The groom and groomsmen all wore their expensive personal black felts, but I bought 2 for the flower girls to carry upside down with pedals in them and one for the junior ring bearer (age 18 months) who is very unpredictable with his care of hats. The hats have a great shape, are very tough and look great on. The elastic inside helps the little ones keep them comfortably in place. May 23, 2013

The elastic band on the inside was soft and stretchy enough that his 6 and 10 year old brothers could both wear this hat too. Great quality and looks like it will hold its shape.     More info on sizing

    How is the size measured for this hat like what size would a medium be? I need 2 for my boys and dont know which sizes to get, HELP!!

    You need to measure the circumference of your child's head. There are instructions on the Shepler's website. Once that is done, you can determine the right hat size.

    This hat has an inner sweat band for added flexibility. Here are the kid-size measurements for around the head:

    S = up to 6 ¼ (19 ½?)

    M = up to 6 ½ (20 ½?)

    L = up to 6 ¾ (21 1/8?)

    XL = up to 7 (21 7/8?)

    Yes, they are crushable but I'm not sure I'd advise doing so if it can bbe avoided. I bought a hat "form" for my nephew to keep his hat in proper shape. Shepler's sells them for about $20. Now if you are talking about "rolling" the brim or adjusting the "head" part, you can manipulate the material. It's excellent quality. I had to make my nephew's grandfather promise not to steal it.
