Well, roughly. They are definitely for girls, not teenagers' or adults' sizes, but typically, few children wear the same size as their chronological age. My son did as a toddler, and then later he wore a size 5 at age 4, etc. The best way to fit them, short of trying them on would be find out what the girl's Australian size or measurements are, and then check the size conversion charts, which also include measurements to go by. I have never bought the girls' Miss Me jeans, but I do own a pair of junior sz. ones for ladies, (all they make, i think) and they fit quite well according to the size/measurement chart provided.
