Normally I wear a size small to medium in shirts, but the Large fits. I grew up in the southwest and know that "cowgirls" are expected to be skinny in the hips and flat chested. I never dressed "Western" because I have not been built that way since I was 9 years old. However, because I have a special occasion this summer, where the theme is white cowboy hats and old roses and people will be wearing denim at the opening session, I decided to dress western this one time. I bought a white cowboy hat and this shirt in black. The shirt is beautiful and, since I knew I was not built like a cowgirl, I ordered a Large (should have been way too big). Instead, it is big on the shoulders, but fits in the bust and hips. I would never have been able to button my usual size. Now all I have to do is buy some silk roses which match the shirt and use them to trim the hat.

This shirt is beautiful and I was so disappointed it did not fit. It was the same size I have ordered 4 different shirts from Sheplers. This shirt must have been mis-sized. It was long enough and the sleeves fit. It was just 2 sizes too small around the torso. I had to send it back.

I ordered this shirt in black and I love it. It is much smaller than a different shirt I purchased from you on the same order. Your description of the fit was misleading.

This is a gorgeous shirt and very reminiscent of some of my vintage shirts. Unfortunately it runs small. Couldn't close it across my bust even though it was the same size as my older shirts which still fit. So even though it is well made & I was excited about wearing it, it will be going back.

Bought one for both myself and husband. Had the words, "There'll Never Be A Last Roundup for Ogden Pioneer Days" embroidered on the back, and wore them with black Stetson hats. We looked sharp!

I love this shirt! It is just beautiful! The black is a true, true, black and the red flowers are just lovely. The quality is divine!! However, I am really glad I took the time to read through all the reviews!!
I am a true size Medium, in most companies sizes; and sometimes can even get away with a small. And when I looked at these reviews and saw how small ladies said this shirt ran; I went wild and ordered it in an XL; and guess what??? It fits!!!
I wanted to be able to tie it up at the waist. I had hoped it would be nice and roomy and have lots of material left over and be over sized for me to be able to do that; but no. I can just barely make the knot!!
It fits and looks nice; but there is not a lot of material to spare. My thinking is that this may be a Jr. Miss sizing or something. It is definitely not a Misses XL, or I would be swimming in it, and I am not!!
I love it though. I am planning to wear it open with a red cami underneath as a jacket and then tie it up as it gets chillier.
