The hat is as shown on the web page. I'm not sure yet about its crush- ability, but that is a feature I was looking for.
The way the chin strap is attached is poor. Just holes punched in the rim and the rawhide run through and knotted.
There are three or four versions of this hat at different prices, some with the chin strap and some without. Some crushable, some not. It can get confusing in selecting.

Glad to see this hat is still available. Bought mine 2 yrs. ago . Wore it in rain & hot sun. Wear it in the pool. Wore it in a pond where my friends continued to create a deluge of water over me and amphibious ATV. Rinsed it off with clear water, good as new, it even kept it's shape. Wire( or whatever is in there) inside brims edge doesn't show signs of wear or any rust coming through.

This hat fits great and looks good. Also held up to the claim of being able to be crushed and bounce back to shape(Thank you to the US Postal service for testing that for me while it was being delivered.) I did take off the chin strap.

I heard of the "Shady Brady" straw hat years ago, but had not checked them out. We moved from Virginia to Florida in 2006 and quickly discovered that the sun is more intense here than back in Virginia. During a recent visit to my dermatologist, a couple of "pre-cancerous" spots were detected on my face. This got me to thinking about sunscreens and shading my face and neck from the sun. I checked out the Sheplers website and decided on the Jon Bon Jovi style hat. It is absolutely the most comfortable hat I have ever owned and is very stylish as a bonus. I am very pleased with the hat and the service I received from Sheplers. I wear it every time I get the chance.

This hat is a perfect fit. No adjustments, no additions to the headband. Just right out of the box perfect. Looking forward to taking my hat out fishing on those sunny and hot days as it is contoured to keep the sun off face, ears and back of neck. What a deal!

The hat looked great. That is until I tried it on. The size was correct according to the measurement scale.Only when I tried it on and the hat slid down over my ears, did I realize that any hand made item is not always true to size quoted on the scale and my size large could have fitted over a basketball. So, I sent it back and am now waiting for the new hat to arrive.Hoping that this time the fit is right. Sheplers have been very good to deal with in the past and everything that I have purchased has been of good quality. Very happy with the service .Shipped to Canada in four days.
