This hat is definately oversized. I ordered the small and wear 6 7/8. Small was supposed to fit 6 1/2 to 6 7/8. It was very flimsy and one side was bent out of shape. I returned it for a refund.

I really like this . . Black straws very hard to find . . About 1/8 larger than actual . . Only problem was that i bought it a week before they dropped the price a few bucks!! Also, i had it shipped to their retail store for pickup . . Good idea, as you can't trust shippers not to crush it, and then you can have a headache with exchanges.
I also then bought a Drover in the retail store when i went for pickup and it was great too . . Fit perfectly and equally as great a deal.

Reading the reviews I ordered one size smaller and that was a mistake.
IMO order your hat size.
This is a nice hat regardless of the great price.

We ordered the hat online at a very good price. But upon receiving it we found the packaging crushed as well as the hat. We took it back to the nearby Sheplers store and the salesgirl was very helpful. She re-ordered the hat for us and had the original sale refunded to us. She made note that the packaging should read "DO NOT CRUSH". We received the new hat within the week and are very satisfied with it. I highly recommend ordering items from Sheplers!

I was not to sure about this hat because of the price, but i ordered one anyways to try it out, as soon as the black one is available in my size i am ordering that one too. But i thought this hat would be all flimsy like other cheap hats but its is hard and nice like a quality hat. I do not regret this purchase

Very nice hat. Looks just like the advert. One problem: it needs more ventilation holes, many more. However it is OK for cool weather as is. Do I dare punch some holes myself?

This was a nice hat for the money but the sizing is way off. Med was supposed to fit size 7 - 7 1/8. I wear a 7 1/8 and the hat was way to big even after adding paper to the inner hat band. Had to return it. No way it would stay on at a gallop.
