I purchased these boots after about one year of talking myself into ordering them. I was actually nervous when I ordered them because of the price. When I received these boots, I was so impressed with the quality and appearance that I tried them on and put them back in the box. I cannot wear them outside - they are simply that beautiful. I know it's crazy, but they are works of art. A group of wonderful people at Lucchese made these boots and it is obvious they care about their work. I customized mine with a #6 toe and a roper heel. I also deleted the barbed wire on the foot but kept the barbed wire on the quarter (shaft). It took a solid 16 weeks for these boots to be manufactured. After wearing a military uniform for 23 years, I used part of two months retired pay to help purchase these boots. I felt so guilty for a long while spending that much money but I'm glad I did. I want to thank the citizens of the US for allowing me to serve in the best military in the world. I have never owned or dreamed of owning anything this nice. They are, indeed, beautiful.
