Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is very good. I had been trying to get my husband to get a dress boot, I ordered these and he really likes them. October 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by GOOD BOOT, GOOD PRICE! They fit fine right out of the box, they are really good looking, and appear to be fairly well made, especially for the value price. The stitching and finish is comfortable on the feet. If they wear as good as they feel and look, I'd say these are a terrific value! I ordered a half size up as recommended and that worked out fine. October 14, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great fit and style!! Great fit and style! Love the fit and feel. Also like the everyday style.. October 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by great comfortable fit Love these boots! They are so comfortable and they fit my feet like no other boot ever has. My first order was black cherry in color and what a beautiful color they are. I ordered another pair in black. thank you for making such an awesome boot at such a great price. October 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product was better than expected. Great boot for the money. Actually worth more than I paid. Great fit. I will be buying another color soon. Highly recommend this boot. October 9, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very comfortable boots I was surprised how well they fit without a break-in period. I got a lot of compliments from my friends on how nice they looked. October 3, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Sized normally! But otherwise great boots. When ordering, this boot has a little side note, saying it runs small. I disagree. I wear a 12, so because it "runs small", I ordered a 13, and I was swimming in it. Not a big deal...I just have to exchange it. But it will cost you $10 in return shipping unless you live next to a store. So I personally would order your normal size. Otherwise they are great boots! October 2, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great value; great service The boots are well made with quality leather uppers, perfect decorative stitching and a super shine. Delivery time was 7 days! October 2, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Rough edges inside a little moleskin or thigh high socks work great. ordered a 1/2 size larger as recommended. fit great. didn't need a break in period September 25, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Surprisingly good... Nobody ever accused a boot manufacturer from the Indian subcontinent of understanding what Western boots are all about (in particular, a Texan), but this boot is surprisingly good. The boot is still new to me, but there are two significant negatives (more may become evident, eventually, but let's give credit for a very good effort for a cost-effective boot): 1. The composite sole, which is made of a material right out of the 1950s (it seems to me). Past experience with similar soles indicates the compromises which were made to meet the necessary price point, but I hope I am incorrect about that; 2. The shaft lining is man-made and (therefore) will be much hotter than leather (or even fabric and even synthetic fabric, if breathable). It is clear Shepler's made the necessary compromises to bring a lower price point to that segment of the market. I needed a less expensive boot for rare occasions dress wear, and this boot fits the spec. They are not Lucchese or even Dan Post, but they beat the all man-made materials in some manufacturers (and quite frankly, the man-made shaft characteristic of some other well-known brands). Shepler's says buy 1/2 size larger, but that did not prove correct for me. My size is between 11-1/2 and 12; sometimes one fits, the next time I need the larger size. So I took Shepler's word, and ordered 12EE, just in case. I could have ordered the 12D, which would have been fine. That said, the sole/foot lining compromises in the less expensive boot in EE wide were well mollified with $10 Dr. Scholl's Extra Support insoles. Perfect fit...and no negatives to the necessary sacrifices Shepler's made to bring this price point to market. September 24, 2013

    Answer:
These are not made for riding because you would need a pair that has riding heels. They are higher heels and also have a slant in the rear of the heel and that's in order for the boots to not get stuck in the stirrup.
I have to point out though that we are talking about western style horse riding NOT English.
    Hope that helps.

    Answer:
The Old West boots featured here are mainly for dress wear unless stated they are work wear. You would need a pair or work boots or ropers to go horse riding. There are plenty to choose from from Sheplers, and a good amount in the budget priced pairs as well.

    Answer:
Your normal street shoe is a 9, so general rule of thumb is to drop down 1/2 a size. If the description states you would need to drop an entire size than take off one whole size instead of 1/2 size.
