Rated 5 out of 5 by Road Warrior Boots I bought a pair in 2005, that I have resoled once, and can say they are the best motorcycle boot I've ever owned. I've been riding motorcycles for 48 years. Yes, 48. The construction of the boot and the attention to detail is excellent. They provide wonderful support and are re-enforced in all the places you need them to be. With a little leather care, they wear like iron, and the Velcro closures last. Once broken in, they they are comfortable and can be worn for miles and hours at a time. Which is what heavy cruiser riders need. I paid almost $230 for mine, and to see them as this price makes me a little jealous. October 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by High quality, well-designed for motorcycling These boots are beautifully designed and made, and have many features that ensure that they will be good for motorcycling. They were true to size and should require modest break-in. I can tuck my pants into them if I want, or cinch them down enough to wear my pants over them. They are stoutly built of heavy and high-quality leather so I feel confident that they will protect my feet and lower legs if I get into an accident. The shifter pads on top of the insteps add to comfort while riding and will protect the tops of the boots from premature wear. My only doubt concerns how well they will keep water out when riding in the rain due to the long openings up the sides, but time will tell. I'm very pleased with them. September 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Boots Spotted these boots on Sheplers website and had to have a pair. Great fit, comfort and good looking to Boot. (excuse the pun) I am looking forward to many miles on the Harley and being the envy of my mates. If you haven't got a pair,"Get Some" October 11, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by A good "All American" boot for motorcycling If you really want an american product designed for motorcycling this is a good choice. That said, your primary or a major consideration needs to be origin, as there are many other boots available that have more focused safety features and breathable waterproofing. This far and away beats engineer's or linesman's boots, fit is for American feet (broader and taller than Italian), and construction is top notch. Downside is that they won't handle rain well unless they're waxed to the point that they can't breathe any more then they become sweatboxes, and they have none of the hard protection in shin and ankle other offerings have. If you are looking for an attractive, conservative motorcycle boot for dry weather riding (or you pack overboots) and you are not concerned about the protective features, this is a good choice. Rated 5 out of 5 by shoppingmylife I got a pair of these boots for my husband about 10 years ago he absolutely loved them wore them everywhere then a neighbors dog chewed them up and I have been looking in the SHEPLERS books every time I get one finally went on line a few weeks ago got the phone number and talked to a sales rep and low and behold they had them to be gotten by special order THANKS never thought he would see his boots again as soon as they came in I gave them to him and he was soooo surprised to get another pair just like he had 10 years ago if you can't find it at SHEPLERS it may not be findable. thanks for the Durango short harness boots, keeping these in the house. Rated 4 out of 5 by Best boot for the money. Ive seen em locally for 135-150 bucks. Well made boots. With the zipper they are so easy to put on and take off. I read they run a litte big. Many reviews say the put a insole and that cured the loseness. I may try thicker socks first. Other then That I am happy. October 9, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great service Great boots Wanted a pair of Chippewa harness boots for a while now so, leap of faith, ordered from Sheplers (I'm in South Australia). Sizing was different so used their size chart and hoped for the best. Boots arrived in a couple of weeks. Upon inspection they had a flaw with stitching on one harness that made that part loose. No problem. Emailed Sheplers & received reply with instructions within 12 hours. I paid the $70AU for return shipping but this was promptly credited back to my credit card, in full, after I emailed a copy of the shipping invoice. They didn't even wait until the returned boots were received - they shipped me out a new pair straight away. They are perfect and I'm wearing them now, only a week since I returned the first pair! First class, polite, helpful and prompt replies to emails. Boots are awesome. Thank you to customer service especially Tanya. I will certainly look at buying from Sheplers again and recommend them to others. September 5, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Another awesome pair of boots I purchased the pair from overseas since this particular Harley Davidson's model is not available in my county. The boots look very cool and easy to wear for a long ride. I highly recommend this model to everybody. August 14, 2013

    Answer:
Yes, both sides have the protected toe. Some older model European motorcycles shift on the right.

Are the Chippewa motorcycle boots actually MADE IN USA? Does "crafted" mean the same as "made"?

I've bought Italian motorcycle boots for years and would love to try an American brand. I own a pair of Alpinestars Web boots I need to replace and they have the following features for $249 retail: goretex liner to keep feet dry, shin armor (stiff plate to keep shin from snapping when you go over the bars) and ankle protection to keep outside of ankle from getting ground up if you get a foot trapped. How does the Chippewa boot compare in these areas?

    Answer:
The Alpine Stars are specifically Motocross boots. The Chippewa Odessa isn't. They are great for sport bikes and heavy cruisers. The Chippewa has a steel shank in the foot, and good non-slip soles and heels. They are fully padded and lined for comfort. The Velcro closures last. They do not have steel toes. After a general break-in they can be worn for hours, which is what heavy cruiser riders depend on.

You may consider a 9-1/2 to 10-1/2. Wide width is labeled "EE" or "EW". Please keep in mind that this is only a guideline, and I cannot guarantee what size will be needed.
