This is my second pair, so that fact alone should tell my approval rating. I live in the south, and hunting in the early fall is a sure fire way to get snake bitten if not careful.
I wore my first pair for almost 10 years, and they are actually in decent shape despite hard use. I broke my foot and now need a wider boot due the residual damage.
I gave my first (too narrow now) pair to my wife who stuffs a sock into the toe to get a semi-proper fit.
I know there are are many brands besides the Chippewa Snake boot, but I am completely satisfied with the boot in all regards. Yes they are on the pricey side, but then again, you get a quality boot that is worth what you pay.

Not the most comfortable to start with-no arch support but got some inserts and they are starting to soften up. Not an option for me to wear or not so I have too. Love the western look as I teach riding but they sure could have come up with something comfortable to start with.
Doesn't anyone test these for comfort? have recommended for the sake that they will save your life if you get bit.

My husband and I each have a pair of these boots. His first pair lasted for 6 years or more. They are great looking and very comfortable. He adjusted both the length and width down 1/2 this time and is very happy with the fit.

I do a lot of back country trail riding on the mainland. Often ground where we camp is rough, uneven, not user friendly for normal high narrow heeled riding boots. With the Chippawa boots I get ample ankle support from the straps which helps my badly pronated ankles. I've tried wearing them for long periods in our warm climate and find these boots remarkably comfortable. Looking forward to saddle testing them on my next ride.
I am not going out of my way to test their primary feature!
