The Bullhide "Horse Play" cowboy hat features a 1" wide leather band created by linked leather patches with a distressed paint finish. Silver-tone horse head ornament adorns front. The allure of this kids’ hat goes beyond its good looks - Bullhide cowboy hats feature superior finishing, innovative style, and exclusive trimmings. "Horse Play" cowboy hat features a 4" cattleman crease hat crown with a 3 1/8" shapeable hat brim. Cloth hat sweatband. To measure a child’s hat size, wrap a tape measure around the head 1/2" above the ears and across the forehead. Compare that measurement to the "sizes in inches" listed below. If you are unsure of head measurement, it is best to order big. If the hat size you purchase is slightly larger than needed, foam hat tape can be inserted under the sweatband to provide a better fit. Sizes in inches: S(20.9"), M(21.3"), L(21.7"), XL(22").

Rated 2 out of 5�by 3BoysMom Good looking, but too fragile for a child. I ordered this hat for my 3-year-old for a week at a dude ranch. He loved it and it looked very cute! The trouble is the straw is very brittle, and any pressure or bending will cause it to crack. After one week of use it now has several large cracks. He was not particularly rough with it, just normal 3-year-old handling. For this reason I would not recommend this hat for children. June 21, 2012

Although my son's head measured just right for an XL, I was concerned about it fitting too small based on other reviews. I decided to risk the purchase anyway, figuring my younger boys could wear it if it didn't fit the 8-year-old. It fits just right! My son has a large head, but it is more oval-shaped from the top. This hat might not fit someone with the same measurements but a more rounder shape. That's just my opinion, in case it helps someone in my shoes trying to figure out if the hat is likely to fit or not! December 29, 2010

The only negative I would say is the hat is alittle lighter colored than I thought the photo was and a little stiff; however, I would not mind having the hat in an audlt size it is so nice. Even my husband thought it looked good. I got it for a little girl for Christmas and I think she is going to love it and it will look so good on her and in photos. Great product. Would buy again.
