Hey ya all ! Looks great, sturdy enough, adjustable to hat size of course, it is as pictured, and would say it even looks better in real life.
The thing to keep in mind is that it is weighty, don't recon your go'en to rope any cows or wrangle any horses with it on. Its all about the look probably best worn in the off work hours, maybe during light chores, definitely on the town. Its a Dandy!

I have a skin condition called "photodermatitis" and every summer I am forced to wear a broad brimmed hat to protect my face from the sun's rays whenever it is shining. Just about every spring I go shopping for a new straw hat in anticipation and it's not an easy job. My head size is 7 5/8 and many vendors only carry "one size fits most" and that's sure not me! This year I was lucky. I found one that fit and was reasonably priced. Wanting to customize it I found on Sheplers' website what looked like the perfect solution, The "bone bead hat band." It was an unique, one-of-a-kind decoration that would be distinctive and complement my casual straw hat! The only caveat was that it was advertised as "one size fits most" but I decided to take a chance. To my relief it was big enough to just reach the very first button hole of the hat band!
So the good news is that if your hat size is 7 5/8 or less, it's going to work for you too. I can guarantee you'll receive lots of complements and it's a great conversation starter.

I put it on one of my hats and when I snugged it up to fasten the buckle the strings holding the beads pulled out of where they were sewn into the leather. So I fixed it with fine steel wire to hold the strings into the leather piece they're sewn into. I shouldn't have to "fix" a hatband that costs what this one does.
Some of the conchos are mounted crooked too. They're slanted at an angle instead of square on the leather piece like they should be. How much trouble can it be to get them straight during initial assembly?
It looks OK, but even though I shortened the strings the beads are threaded on you can still see plenty of string with the band on the hat.
If this were made well it would look really good on a hat, as it is it's better than the stock hatband that comes on most hats but I was really expecting better at this price and from Sheplers. I've never had the least complaint with anything I've bought through Sheplers before and I will continue to buy from them because I think this is a fluke. I think this is something that slipped past Sheplers usual high standards because it does look good in the pictures and in the package but get it tight on a hat and it's prone to failure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Rockinjay i have recieved alot of complements on the hat ban & I like it except for one thing i'm kind of concered with is when you tighten it around the hat the string inside the leather pulls out a little bit i just hope it lasts other then that it is a really nice lookin hat band
